Hi Janice, oh! That is a tough one. Well, both are a totally different type of lipstick. Burberry Velvet is a matte lipstick but not drying and this Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick is more of a moisturizing / shine lipstick. Both lasted very long on me but EL is no doubt more moisturizing. I personally am a huge fan of matte lipstick. By far Burberry Velvet is the best I’ve used.

I think lipstick is always a good investment but being a student I understand the budget constrain. Not just you. Eventhough I was earning a pretty decent income but I will always take a step back and consider first. I always tell myself that I can’t be buying every single item out there. So first thing first, do you need it? If you have a handful of lipstick lying around the house, you probably don’t need it. But if it’s a shade you never had before, then you probably have a reason to splurge.

The selling point of this lipstick is the texture, long lasting, sculpting effect and moisture. My advise is that you try this new Pure Color Envy Shine lipstick on your lips, go for a shopping for maybe an hour or two to see how the lipstick is on the lips after a few hours. If it’s all good then you pretty much will know if you should invest 😀

do u think it is a good investment to buy this lipstick? i never had any high end items like this considering the price since i’m still a student but now i’m sold after reading your review. plus the colour is exactly what i’ll pick for myself as well 😉
