It’s Friday today and we all know what that means. It’s going to be a lazy day for most people and that includes me. I wouldn’t want to put up something heavy so let me tell you about an interesting event by Aveda that I went to last Friday. The event is all about introducing Aveda and focusing on Invati™ range. I really don’t know what else I can talk about Aveda and Invati™ this time because I’ve went for the press launch back in 2012, which you can read all about it here, I’ve reviewed the whole Invati™ range, which you can read here, ran two giveaway, had an event and a few more activities. Phew . Nowadays I don’t talk about what went down at an event however I had fun at this one and I wanted to note it down

For those of you who just followed me, hello there and I thought of going through quickly with you on what is Aveda and Invati™ aight?

When I enter into the room where the event was held, I couldn’t help but to notice that all the tables are covered with white papers and there were plant pot on each table. It was actually stated in the invite email but you know me, I lost track of things sometimes . I didn’t pay much attention to that until I was seated and saw the pots. I believe there are three types of plant pot available.

I happen to sit in front of the cutest, shortest and fattest pot by coincidence!

After the short introduction of Aveda and the range Invati™, I found out that we are planting rosemary. Well more like depotting the existing plant to a prettier pot haha! This is how rosemary looks like. You know how freaky I can get with activities at the event but this, I haven’t done this before and boy I was more than happy to do it. I am not someone who like to do gardening and somehow I have a ‘thing’ for small plant, for example bonsai.

Aveda was so thoughtful that they brought in an expert in landscaping to walk us through the whole process. Even though so, my table was the clueless one as there are a few tables to go around so when other tables are either done depotting or half way done, we are still holding an empty pot lololol! We sort of struggle a bit trying to figure out what to do and then the expert finally came to our table and brought us this. He unwrapped it and it was a soil mix with gold something? Oh well I don’t know. I was more excited with the depotting . But it sure do looks like…

The landscaping expert came back with a bag of shattered pot for us to put into our pot as the 1st layer to help with drainage.

Second final step is to put a little bit of the soil earlier into the pot, remove the original rosemary plastic pot and transfer to the new pot. Lastly, add more soil as needed, press the soil down a bit and voila!

It sure is a messy affair but most importantly we had fun participating in this meaningful activity. I was particularly happy with my plant as I chose a short and flare out rosemary but then I accidentally planted it facing the corner of the pot lol, which by now I’ve already replanted facing the bow direction

Remember last year I heavily promote AVEDA Walk For Water, a meaningful campaign to help raise awareness towards providing clean water to communities in need? And this annual fundraising activity dedicated to clean water-related causes is back!

Last year Aveda global network in more than 30 countries passionately pursued their goal of protecting and preserving clean water for everyone, everywhere by organizing thousands of events to raise a total of US$5.5 million for clean water. Not only that. Aveda also set a Guinness World Record for the Most Money Raised for Charity through Haircuts in a 24 Hour Period during the Global Cut-A-Thon. Meanwhile in Malaysia, we are having our second Walk for Water event in support of EcoKnight’s H2O Project (Help to Offer Safe Drinking Water to Mantanani) on the island of Mantanani (Sabah) where the funds raised will assist in delivering safe and clean drinking water to some 1,200 villagers on the island. It’s actually quite fun and you get to sweat along the way too. Last year there’s water and bananas for breakfast provided before the walk. Then we have a group warm up session, which is nice and calming to see everyone from different age, ethnic, race, profession group together following the instructor on stage with the warm up steps. During the warm up session Aveda staff will be misting the surrounding with Chakra™ Balancing Body Mist. Absolutely calming
