I have Bag of Love Facebook set as favourite so whenever Mimi update her Facebook, I would see it first on my Facebook timeline. That is because I do not want to miss any of her bag. So when Bag of Love announced the latest bag on 17th June 2016, I subscribed immediately.

Bag of Love June 2016 Murad Edition as the name says it all, is all about Murad. I love Murad as a brand and their skincare, which is one of the reason why I subscribed. I love that Mimi disclosed the content of the bag so deciding whether to subscribe or not is not a hard thing to do.

The highlight of this Bag of Love June 2016 Murad Edition is the new White Brilliance Porcelain Serum, which was launched not too long ago. The bag comes with six Murad products and vouchers. The sizes of all the skincare products are pretty good. In this bag I got:

• Step 1: Cleanse & Tone – Age Reform AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser 30ml
• Step 2: Targer & Repair – White Brilliance Porcelain Serum 5ml
• Step 3: Hydrate & Protect – Environmental Shield Essential-C Day Moisture SPF30 PA+++ 21ml

The non-skincare Murad items included in the bag are a notebook and two Murad vouchers. One 50% OFF facial treatment and a RM50 cash voucher. I do not like vouchers in general and I am not into facial so who want these let me know!

Bag of Love is a beauty “box” subscription service. As you already know, Bag of Love do not use box for their subscription hence the name Bag of Love. Each time there is a new release, Bag of Love will came out with a pouch. This time the pouch is also from Murad. It is a huge, spacious and very well-made pouch . It fits the notebook, eh. I like it!

Now, the disappointing item is also one of the main reason why I subscribed. DwiDwi Jewelry. I know the jewelry are given randomly so I totally understand. I like that the jewelry included comes in a box and a cutesy macaron jewelry box. What disappoints me is that I got a pair of pearl earrings. I hate pearl. The earrings is the clip-on type of earrings. The issue is, I DO NOT LIKE PEARL! Sigh. I wish I got a bracelet, necklace or any other earrings. Even anklet I am fine. JUST NOT PEARL! Lol.

Overall, Bag of Love did not disappoint. I love love loveeeee the 2nd or is it 3rd last bag which comes with Burberry miniature lipstick and a lot more goodies. Until the next Bag of Love!

To be honest I kinda miss the time where there is two handful of beauty box subscription service. Sadly the hype died down after just over a year of chaos. There is one that still stood strong. It is none other than Bag Of Love. Despite changing its monthly subscription service to bi-monthly, Bag Of Love is here to stay for sure.

Here is the content for Bag Of Love “Necessities” July/August 2014 Edition for you to salivate for a while before we get into details on the products included in the bag

If you recall back in November 2013, I went all out and purchase four sets of Bag Of Love “Go, Girl, Go!” November 2013 Edition because I found out the content by accident. I was expecting something from Levi’s but never thought it’s a cute little denim tote bag. So when the hint for July/August bag was disclosed in the Facebook, I knew Levi’s is on board. Again, never in my mind would I expect ANOTHER Levi’s tote bag! This time the tote is a canvas beige bag. The material is harder and thicker than the denim version. I did hesitate a bit in subscribing as it’s in beige but I’m more into the content this time round and it’s only RM39.90 so I got myself one.

I’ve heard so much about DR. WU products from a YouTuber, BeautyQQ. Its one of the best skin care brand and it definitely doesn’t come cheap. Anyhow in this bag, there is two DR. WU products included (wheeeee!!!) – DR. WU Intensive Renewal Toner with Mandelic Acid 30ml (RM109 / 150ml) and DR. WU Intensive Renewal Serum With Mandelic Acid 18% 5ml (RM119 / 50ml). I like that we get two instead of one product from one range to try.

Next up. One of the reason why I subscribed. I wanted this cutie! I thought the 100ml is cute but this is 1000 times cuter. Its none other than Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution 20ml (RM70.90 / 250ml).

Then I have not one, not two, not even three but FOUR Aveda Damage Remedy products. Basically its the whole range

– Aveda Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo With Quinoa Protein 10ml (RM112 / 250ml)
– Aveda Damage Remedy Restructuring Conditioner With Quinoa Protein 10ml (RM112 / 200ml)
– Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair With Quinoa Protein 10ml (RM118 / 100ml)
– Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment With Quinoa Protein 10ml (RM160 / 150ml)

I was so relieved that this Nano White Clarifying Cleansing Milk 75ml (RM19.90 / 200ml) is a cleansing milk instead of a face cream. I have enough of face cream at the moment. I wouldn’t mind cleansing milk to remove my makeup. The more the better.

The only full size in the bag is Follow Me Sencé Lovely Body Mist 25ml (RM6.90 / 25ml). It smells like powder so I’m reserving this for casual use.

Just last week I reviewed SkinnyMint which is one hell of an expensive detox tea from Singapore and it doesn’t work for me. A lot people are shocked that it doesn’t work for me. It is what it is. Everyone’s body chemistry is different. This would be the perfect time for me to try TruDtox (RM29.50 / 5 tea bags) since one sachet is included in the bag. Hope I don’t spend my day in the toilet after that lol.

I’m not a fan of O’slee. When I saw O’slee in the teaser I went ohmygawd. Ohmygawd there’s a O’slee Aqua Medi Refreshing Hydro-Cream 15ml (RM79.88 / 50ml) in my bag. Whoever want it let me know. Just pay postage. And please no stranger who suddenly popped in just to get it ya.

Last but not least, vouchers! The vouchers this time round is the most attractive of all. I have Aveda RM50 voucher, Plincco RM20 voucher and Make Up For Ever Complimentary Eye / Lip Makeup Service worth RM30 with any purchase.

What I Like

11 products with three vouchers? Amazing. Bag Of Love “Necessities” July/August 2014 Edition is another favourite of mine. Its good to rekindle with beauty box or in this case bag after losing touch with the subscription service for so long. Levi’s bag is really REALLY a bonus. Even if the content is not attractive to you, the subscription fee of RM39.90 is well-paid for. I do like this month’s product selection. I’m excited to try DR. WU and Aveda Damage Remedy. And that cute lil Bioderma is a success! Only MiMi can get such wonderful brands into her bag. I’m usually not keen with the vouchers included most of the time. I didn’t even realize there is a RM50 Aveda voucher. I only found out after my friend Ju Li told me about it. silly me. Well done to Bag Of Love once again.

This edition brought back memories to me. Like I said earlier, I do miss all the beauty box craziness. Although I’m quite happy to stop adding deluxe samples to my stash but nonetheless I still enjoy the feeling of anticipating for the parcel to arrive and the nervousness of unboxing. Those were the days. I get to relive it all over again with this bag.

Oh wow. It’s been a while since I last subscribed for any Bag Of Love. My last subscription is still my favourite bag of all, which is the Bag Of Love “Go, Girl, Go!” November 2013 Edition. I tried stopping myself from beauty box but failed badly but at that time I’ve determined so I stopped all beauty box/bag simultaneously as I was running out of space to store all the samples. Even though so I still follow Bag Of Love Facebook page closely (just in case I like the teaser). And I did!

Bag Of Love “Stay Beautiful and Read On” March/April 2014 Edition is Bag Of Love’s first bi-monthly subscription bag. They have decided to take things slow and changed the usual monthly subscription to bi-monthly. What this mean is you will no longer be able to subscribe for their bag monthly. This doesn’t impact me a bit as I don’t subscribe that much.

This edition’s bag/pouch is a huge one. According to MiMi the owner you can even fit books in it. I suppose you can judging from the size. However I’m still not a fan of pouches and bags. Up till today my favourite is still the denim Levi’s tote bag.

Philosophy Hope In A Jar High-Performance Moisturizer 7ml

Now, why do I subscribe? The teaser posted in Facebook said “A magic potion for the face from either a) one of Oprah Winfrey’s favourite brands OR b) a specialist skincare brand loved by the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Liv Tyler”. I know Oprah Winfrey love Philosophy Hope In A Jar and I wrongly guessed that Jennifer Aniston and Liv Tyler are both into Mario Badescu. I thought to myself both brand is not that bad even if I get either one. So now you know why. But I’m glad I got Philosophy because the other brand is not Mario Badescu. It’s Nuxe lol.

CK One RED Edition For Her Body Wash 30ml

Another teaser was “Not just a vial, but a body wash from a new fragrance line from our favourite brand! Been pestering our sponsors for one since we started a year ago”. This is so easy. I know CK recently launched CK One Red Edition For Him and For Her so it must be it. But I wasn’t expecting small deluxe. I actually thought it’s bigger . Urrgghh. It smells sooooooo good!

Full Size Dove Hair Therapy Damage Solutions Intense Repair Conditioner 180ml (RM9.90)

Why oh why? Why do I get a huge conditioner without any shampoo? . I didn’t expect Dove, really. I was expecting other brand. I have bought tons of Dove hair care last month, all thanks to the Pensonic hair curler promotion. I nearly fainted seeing this tube of conditioner LOL.

Covo HD Picturesque BB Cream SPF50 PA+++

This is unexpected. I’ve never tried Covo before and I’m happy to receive this although it’s just a BB Cream, which I don’t use a lot these days as it makes my skin oily.

Full Size Ubermen Hydrating Mist 50ml (RM16.90)

Hmmm not sure what I’ll do with this facial hydrating mist as it’s for man. I’ll figure this out.

Full Size Mask of Love by Unico (RM19.90)

This mask is co-created by Bag Of Love with the brand Unico. This is not just any ordinary mask. It is Soothing and Hydrating Bio-Cellulose Mask. Bio-Cellulose mask is different from the usual sheet mask. Bio-cellulose masks are made of fermented plant fibres which adheres closely to the face and has superior ability to penetrate ingredients into the skin. This material is widely used in medical bandage due to the cool down effect and excellent function on dressing change to wound.

Key ingredient:
– Phyto H.A (a plant derived alternative to Hyaluronic Acid) – excellent moisturising property).

Miacare Acne Patch For Day – 3 Patches

I’ve received this before from other beauty box and it’s actually not bad at all. This acne patch although is distributed by DKSH but it is by BenQ. For those who didn’t know, BenQ is a multi-national company that sells and markets consumer electronics, computing and communications devices under the “BenQ” brand name. Just like FUJIFILM that manufacture Astalift, which I’ve already told you about yesterday.

Human Nature Overnight Elixir

Let’s see. This is a night face oil that claim to work it’s magic when you sleep. It also said on the back of the sample card that the mirror will show you how beautiful you are the morning after. The smell is not so bad. It’s also quite light comparing to other face oil.

Retail Price: RM129.90 / 30ml

Here comes the interesting part. There’s two voucher included in this month Bag Of Love “Stay Beautiful and Read On” March/April 2014 Edition. I found a Fashion Culture box 10% discount voucher. Fashion Culture is a monthly fashion subscription box that was established just a few months ago. It’s good that MiMi is helping out other new box.

Another voucher is Covo 20% discount voucher plus a flash makeover worth RM60. The flash makeover value of RM60 sounds a bit too much for a flash makeover don’t you think so?

Soooooo…

First thing first, it’s amazing that Bag Of Love managed to get EIGHT PRODUCTS in the bag. Kudos to that! However, I can’t really say I love this Bag Of Love “Stay Beautiful and Read On” March/April 2014 Edition but I’m not hating it either. It’s not bad at all but certainly not the best. It was alright. I subscribed mainly because I kinda miss the excitement of ripping through the courier plastic and digging into beauty box the minute the courier man drove away. I haven’t been getting any beauty box for a good few months and honestly speaking the excitement is not as intense as last time. TAQ-Q-BIN the courier company kept changing delivery boy and this new one that dropped off my parcel is a pain. I’m not going in detail on how idiotic the whole process is. The brand selection is good, with Philosophy making it’s first appearance in the beauty box scene. Love that, the CK sample and Mask of Love but the rest is not that exciting for me. This edition is a hit and miss. Don’t be surprise of me saying that because nothing is perfect.

Would I stop subscribing Bag Of Love? Hell no. I stopped previously because I ran out of space. Now that I’ve cleared most of it *ehem*, I can and will subscribe when the product is right for me. I’m waiting for next bag’s teaser

Last month I posted up a teaser on November edition but the teaser really is a teaser that didn’t have any content hint at all . As much as I want to shout to the world on the content but I couldn’t so I can only said that I subscribed for four bags and IT’S REALLY GOOD. The theory is really simple actually. If you’ve been following me from time to time you’ll know that I don’t really subscribe to beauty box at the moment due to space issue but if I said I bought four of the same beauty bag, what could this mean? I guess the teaser worked because MiMi told me there are subscribers that subscribed for four as well after reading my blog post. Ahhh not bad eh?

I was kinda in a whole lots of critical issue to solve lately that I don’t even realise it’s the end of the month already. With the blink of an eye, all four of my Bag Of Love “Go, Girl, Go!” November 2013 Edition arrived in a huge parcel from Taq-Q-Bin.

I don’t usually talk about the pouches and bags from Bag Of Love because I’m not fond of it but this one I have to. This is one of the two reasons why I subscribed for four Bag Of Love “Go, Girl, Go!” November 2013 Edition. I personally have double check with MiMi after I subscribe but the bag was not confirmed yet by Levi’s. But it doesn’t matter. It’s good to get a Levi’s but if the deal doesn’t come along, there’s always next time.

I thought it’s a Levi’s pouch, right until MiMi posted a teaser on the Facebook. This Levi’s tote bag really took me by surprise. From expecting a pouch to a tote, not bag after all eh? . I think the material is a bit too soft though. The handle however is not. The width of the handle is too big for such a small tote. There’s a button clasp, which is good. The bag doesn’t really need a zip otherwise the overall design will be spoilt. The inner lining is in red and white checkered. A bit weird for a Levi’s lol.

Now, the very main reason why I subscribed for four Bag Of Love “Go, Girl, Go!” November 2013 is because I got to know accidentally on this item that will be included in November edition. Don’t ask me how I get to know. I’m not telling

Full Size Panasonic Pocket Doltz Toothbrush (worth RM99)

This is actually a battery-powered pocket-sized toothbrush. This means it’s small and slim in size and the brush head is smaller. It’s totally understandable for an adult toothbrush to be this small. And this toothbrush comes with a sonic vibration brush. Yes it vibrates haha. Some people may find the brush too small. That’s because they didn’t use two different size toothbrush to brush their teeth daily! They must have not read my Tips: A Very Simple Step to a Healthier Gum & Teeth tsk tsk tsk.

A lot of subscribers are also expecting eyelash curler, mini hair curler, face steamer etc. I’m actually quite glad it’s a toothbrush and not those! A beauty bag or box doesn’t necessary means everything inside is a direct beauty related. A healthy, beautiful teeth is also a part of beauty regime don’t you think so?

Dove Hair Therapy Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo 90ml (worth RM4.40) and Dove Hair Therapy Hair Fall Rescue Conditioner 80ml (worth RM4.40)

There’s something about beauty bag with shampoo and conditioner isn’t it? We’ve been receiving various brands and concern from most beauty box recently. I like Dove because of the scent. I don’t know how to explain but it’s quite pleasant to the nose. Hair Therapy is a range to help reduce hair fall due to damage. Maybe this range can help my hair breakage due to hair damage?

Clarins Double Serum 7-Sachets Sample Kit + Bounce Back 2 Samples worth RM60

MiMi once told me that she refuse to include sachet in her Bag Of Love so when Clarins said they wanted to give out this sachet sample kit, she said no. Clarins later on added a bounce back to the counter for another two samples redemption. Double Serum is a dual anti-aging serum. Each sachet is for one usage and it’s quite oily. If you use one sachet in a day, this kit will last you for seven days.

As for the bounce back. These samples are said to worth RM60 but all I was given is either a 3ml or 5ml. If I were to combine two 5ml, the value is around RM30 only. It also seems that no one knew about the existence of the bounce back card which is the main reason why they only give small and lower value sample.

Elizabeth Arden Red Door Aura EDT 1.2ml (worth RM3.30)

I hoard perfume vial because I carry one in my wallet for the after-lunch mist. I’d be very happy everytime I see vial in beauty box. This is said to be a bright floral, sensual fragrance that evokes the cheerful romance of a bouquet. What a sexy scent description LOL. Floral is also my favourite scent preference and now I have four vials

Ehem. Look at my Panasonic Pocket Doltz Toothbrush! I have four different colors. You bet the pink one goes to me

What I Like

Bag Of Love “Go, Girl, Go!” November 2013 edition is my favourite among all Bag Of Love. Instead of a pouch (which I am not fond of), this time round we get a Levi’s tote bag made from jeans material. I also like that there’s a “not-so-direct” beauty products like the Panasonic Pocket Doltz Toothbrush. This would be the first ever appearance in a beauty bag or box.

Oh and usually I was put in the second delivery but this month I was on the first delivery so I received my parcel the next day after Bag Of Love sent it out.

What I Don’t Like

The Clarins bounce back of course. BA over the counter have no clue on the redemption nor have they seen the card before. I have four cards and three counter gave me either 3ml or 5ml, which both sample valued around RM20-RM30 and the last counter which is my home counter at Isetan KLCC gave me 30ml deluxe which both item valued at around RM60. My guess is everyone thought it’s a sample but if you calculate the value of it, it’s actually a deluxe / miniature. I have sent a PM to MiMi on this and I hope she can clear this up. I was given wrong samples by first three counters.

Conclusion

What can I say. Bag Of Love seems to be the favourite among all at this moment and they have a reason to. The sad news is I won’t be subscribing to the December edition although the set looks good. It’s time to take a break and start using all the stuff I got.

For just RM39.90, I think it’s a pretty good deal. Christmas gifting anyone?
