I’m into yuzu these days. To be honest I have no real knowledge on what is yuzu. All I know is they looked like a hybrid between an orange and a lemon lol . But one thing I can assure you is that yuzu smells amazing. I first fell in love with yuzu scent when I bought a pack of yuzu scented steam eye mask from Singapore last year. That changes everything as anything with yuzu is either expensive or hard to get. However that’s not just the only scent from ShiKai. I mentioned a week or two ago that TNS Skin Lab recently added the brand ShiKai into their array of natural personal care selection. You know what’s better other than ShiKai is all natural? It is Made in the USA and are not tested on animals ❤️

Moisturizing Shower Gel (RM69 / 355ml, RM14 / 60ml)

Yuzu scented shower gel? How exciting! If you think this is just another shower gel, think again. These gel actually contain maximum amount of powdered oatmeal and aloe vera gel to moisturize and relieve dry, itchy skin, and also for a smoother, softer skin. Most shower gel do, I get it. After trying the shower gel for a few weeks, I must say they are not joking. Despite being a soap-free shower gel, it actually foams up more than other shower gel I know. The foams doesn’t dries up the skin but instead the skin are kept supple. It’s even better with the body lotion, which I’ll get into later.

It has a authentic yuzu scent, almost the same with my steam eye mask, for which I am quite happy with. The scent relaxes me and makes me chirpy happy during shower. It does help if yuzu if one of your favourite scent

Moisturizing Hand & Body Lotion (RM66 / 238ml,  RM14 / 29ml)

This one I’m most excited about. It’s weird thinking back to 3 years ago when I am against body lotion. I learnt how to apply body lotion and that is not before bed time but as soon as you towel dry your skin after shower, while the skin is still damp. This way, the body absorb the product better leaving the skin soft and not sticky.

I am the most non-discipline one when it comes to using complementing scent or product. This time I told myself to not stray and just follow the step. It has Borage Oil to help to heal dry skin. I personally do have a dry skin and this lotion I would say is much more creamier and thicker than every other lotion I’ve used. It does leave a layer on the skin so use moderately, not generously like me lol. It also contain Shea Butter for that extra extra silky feel,  Aloe Vera and Vitamin E combined with Cocoabutter, Wheatgerm, Apricot and Safflower Oils for extra moisturization.

Scent wise, it’s different from the shower gel. The shower gel has a rather pleasant authentic yuzu scent while the Hand & Body Lotion has a more stronger yuzu scent that almost smells like it’s plasticky. Does it smells bad? No. It still smells like yuzu. But I get it why the lotion smells somewhat different and stronger. Complementing body care products especially lotion are in this way so that the scent are able to lingers on the skin longer. If you notice the last step products are always heavily scented.

As I’m writing this, my Hand & Body Lotion are 50% used up while my Shower Gel are still 80% full. How is that even possible? . Then I realized how much I’m using every night after shower. So much so that last Friday I went for a body massage and the therapist told me my skin are baby soft and that I took care of my skin very well. Now, now now. I am proud of that compliment. It means ShiKai Yuzu Moisturizing Shower Gel and Hand & Body Lotion really delivers what it promised and that is soft, smooth and moisturizing skin.

Back in February, I was sent on a 2 days 1 night trip to the beautiful Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson by Clarins Malaysia for the media preview of the new Body Fit Anti-Cellulite Contouring Expert. You may want to read this if you missed out on the whole shenanigans. It was a media trip, with no other blogger spotted except for one. It was as if the trip was put together for me because first of all it is Clarins, my first skincare brand which is also the brand that got me started on beauty blogging, and then there was fitness. You know fitness is a part of my lifestyle besides beauty so this is just perfect. Plus I get to get away from the busy city for 2 days.

Clarins is known to improvised and reformulate their product and packaging every few years. The last revamp for Body Fit was in 2013 if I’m not mistaken. It was known as Body Lift back them. I remember I was handed a bottle at the end of White Plus Total Luminescent event and it was the bottle I have till today, before the NEW Body Fit.

What’s New?

Besides the name change from Body Lift Cellulite Control to Body Fit Anti-Cellulite Contouring Expert, it also has added benefit in terms of body slimming. All this is possible thanks to unprecedented discovery by the Clarins Research Team. They found three adipocytes that are responsible for fatty tissue expansion and skin sponginess. Therefore with the new discovery on hand, a new formula was also developed based on a new plant extract discovery – Quince Leaf Extract and this extract is actually capable of “coaching” adipocytes back into its normal level of activity. In another word, to calm them down!

Three adipocytes responsible for fatty tissue expansion and skin sponginess:

1. Fat-Storing Adipocytes – transform from pre-adipocytes to fat-storing adipocytes. This cells are capable of storing lipids in massive amount and then multiplies. This is how circle of cellulite formed.
2. Fat-Burning Adipocytes (new) – continually burning lipids so that the body gets the energy it need. In balanced conditions, calories consumed equals to calories burned. Fat-burning adipocytes are released immediately and it does not store lipids on long term.
3. Fiber-Producing Adipocytes (new) – produces collagen fibers that are used in adipose tissue structure. In a normal conditions, fiber-producing adipocytes hardly exists. It produces only a minimal amount of fibers for adipose tissue structure and resistance.

However when the body has more calories than energy needs, Adipocytes will fall into bad habits.

• Fat-Storing Adipocytes – multiply to store increasing amount of fat.
• Fat-Burning Adipocytes – fat burning activity reduced, accumulate and thicken adipose tissue.
• Fiber-Producing Adipocytes – fiber production around adipocytes increased which resulted to fatty mass becoming imprisoned hence harder to remove.

Previously, Body Lift (old version) focuses and target on cellulite. Now, the NEW Body Fit not only target existing cellulites and preventing future cellulites from forming, it has reinforced slimming action that is able to give its user a better shaped refined silhouette through the “lift” action. It firms, smoothes and enhances the skin appearance as well.

One thing that Clarins retain from the old version to the new is the pastel pink texture color and its minty scent. The bottle packaging from 2013 also remain unchanged, except for a brand new dual-color bottle design that resembles a women’s silhoutte. Pretty classy looking than the full on red bottle, isn’t it?

I cannot remember the application method for the previous version but I was told that even though cellulite only occurs on certain area of the body for example at the back of the thigh, Clarins recommend Body Fit to be applied from the calf up, together with its Self-Massage method. The hand pressure and muscle contraction method trap adipose tissue and boost circulation. Demo video included below.

One and only reason why you need to ditch your body lotion for Body Fit

I know some of you may be a little confuse as to when you should use Body Fit. If you are like me who cannot go on a day without body lotion, let me tell you what you should do. Replace your body lotion with Body Fit! I applied Body Fit day and night and even more before I do my workout. The minty sensation is so comfortable and relaxing that I find it calms me down during the workout.

On a typical day and night application, I applied Body Fit after shower. But I have to warn you something about applying after shower. Please, please please put on your underwear first before applying on the inner thigh. That is because it can get quite minty at your *you know where* if it get to that area. It happened to me all the time although I tried my best to avoid the mishap LOL. So the trick to this is to put on underwear first . Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Unlike body lotion, Body Fit has lightweight cream gel-like texture. It spread on so easily and absorbed in before you know it. It does not leave any sticky residue at all. Even after a sweaty workout, my skin is just like normal and the layer of Body Fit on the skin does not add on extra stickiness. Plus it helps to combat cellulite, it cools the skin, it shape the body contour and it smooth the skin. Isn’t that more than enough reason to replace it with body lotion?

Earth Day 2016 falls on the 22nd April but I have celebrated the world’s largest environmental event a few months earlier back in January 2016, thanks to Melvita Malaysia for the launch of Nectar de Miels Body Care range. I have been keeping these new launch for months! I am so glad I am able to tell you about it now

Melvita Nectar de Miels Body Care are catering for dry, very dry and sensitive skin thanks to a special ingredient Thyme Honey. This sort of explained why I was “planting” Thyme herb plant as seen on my Instagram. Melvita done a research and found the exceptional repairing power of thyme honey, which acts like a natural dressing with instant soothing effect. When combined with acacia and orange blossom honeys, it reveals this synergic effect to heal and rescue very dry and sensitive skin. Overall, the body care range consists of three products – Comforting Creamy Milk, Comforting Balm, and Comforting Hand Cream.

Nectar de Miels Comforting Creamy Milk (RM115 / 200ml)

Despite this body care range is catering for the dry and sensitive skin, I certainly do not fall into either category and yet I find this Comforting Creamy Milk to be one of the best body milk I have tried. Am I concern when I heard it is made for dry skin? Yes of course. But then again, I am someone who like to really oils up after night shower so I do not really mind.

The Comforting Creamy Milk is said to be less oily. It is rich in texture but has the texture of a typical body lotion. The scent is heaven! It is my favourite of all. It has thyme honey and a bit of floral note to it. The scent is mild but leaves a hint of sweet honey floral scent, which lingers till the next morning. Love! The packing too are upgraded. It has a build-on safety seal on the cap that you need to peel off in order to get the tube to open.

Besides the main ingredient Thyme Honey, there are three organic honeys complex in the product which works to protect and revitalizes the skin, plant-based glycerine to help restore skin elasticity, soline to repair, and alpha-bisabolol to soften the skin.

I must agree that it is quite rich so a little goes a long way. I applied this body milk like how I do with every other body care products – right after shower, while the skin is still a bit damp. This helps to lessen the product stickiness or richness making it more comfortable on the skin. I am so glad this does not smell like every other organic product. Thank goodness that it has a tiny hint of scent.

Nectar de Miels Comforting Balm (RM138 / 175ml)

The Comforting Balm on the other hand is more concentrated and richer in texture. Surprisingly, I find the texture to be even more smooth than the Comforting Creamy Milk! This tub of goodness here are more suitable for people with driest and most sensitive skin as the smooth and rich texture provides the skin instant soft and soothing effect.

This tub is sealed with a foil on the top, which we rarely see nowadays. There is no plastic shifter so I like to keep the foil attached to the tub till I am done with the whole jar. It is enriched with thyme honey for the repairing properties, complex of three organic honeys to protects and revitalizes, plant-based glycerine to restore elasticity, soline to repair, and alpha-bisabolol to soften from the very first application.

Comforting Balm is said to act like a natural, soothing “dressing” for extra-dry and extra sensitive skin suffering from the cold. It has the same floral, sweet honey scent as the Comforting Creamy Milk. Just as the other product in the range, the scent is just mild and not overpowering. As this balm is more creamier, I used it only on the dry spots such as the elbows, knee, feet (yes, you read right), and my thighs. I find that the product smooths out tiny rough bumps on the certain part of my body, which is now all smooth thanks to this Comforting Balm . Once I ran out of Comforting Creamy Milk (which is very soon), I will be using this Comforting Balm as my body lotion after shower.

Out of the three products from Nectar de Miels range, the only product I do not have in my possession is the Comforting Hand Cream (RM73 / 75ml or RM36 / 30ml). Yes you guessed it right. It is a rich hand cream. In fact, Melvita said it is the richest of all hand creams they have in their store. Whoa! I would need this to “grease” up my hands before sleep. The price is not too bad too . I guess the scent is the same as the two from the same range, which will be amazing to sniff.

The first ever Soap & Glory product that I had enjoyed using and repurchased is the one and only Flake Away. It is also the cheapest body care within the brand (RM39) until I went to Sephora to repurchase a third tub. The price shoot up to RM55! I didn’t repurchase any since then and I’ve been missing Flake Away scent so so much. I can’t remember how or where I found out that Flake Away contain Soap & Glory signature Original Pink™ fragrance. So what else? I went amok with everything that has the exact scent!

When I was at the Sephora Black Card event, I grabbed a bottle of Clean On Me™ Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel. I was looking high and low for The Righteous Butter™ Body Lotion and there was none. I went back the next day with my mum to search again and I only managed to find the mini tub of The Righteous Butter™ Body Butter (RM19). I used the mini tub so moderately, as if it’s the most precious thing in the world. Then luck was on my side. I managed to purchase another bottle of Soap & Glory Clean On Me™ Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel (RM48) and The Righteous Butter™ Body Lotion (RM65) during the first Black Card Private Sale 20% OFF back in October 2014. Everything seems more worth it with 20% OFF isn’t it?

I’ve always said that I’m not a body lotion or a body butter girl. I find it to be uncomfortable having a sticky body the whole day or night. Soap & Glory completely changed me. Every night after shower I find myself eagerly wanting to slap on The Righteous Butter Body Lotion.

I find it so cool that every product under the Original Pink category bears the same scent. Other brand tend to make every item within the same scent category slightly different but based on my experience using four different products under Original Pink fragrance is that everything smells the same. At least to me . The scent lingers on the whole night and the whole morning the next day until I shower. Clean On Me™ Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel foams up very well. I only use two pumps on a shower loofah. The pump is not the deep type. It doesn’t pump up a whole lot per pump. Between The Righteous Butter™ Body Lotion and Body Butter, I’d choose The Righteous Butter™ Body Lotion. It is lighter and doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin even for someone like me who is not a fan of applying body lotion. This one I use generously. One pump for every section lol. The Righteous Butter™ Body Butter on the other hand is not bad though. I like how smooth, light and super moisturizing it is on the skin. It can be a lil tacky the next morning but I still like it. In fact I’ve bought a set of Soap & Glory Holiday 2014 set – Full Clean Ahead (RM51), which contain a full size tub of Body Butter *excited*

What I like about Soap & Glory bottle product is that the half litre (500ml) can really last a very long time. Like I said, I use one pump for each section of my body which means I’m using seven pumps each night and you know what, I’ve only used up the bit on top like what you see on the first and second photo above since end of October 2014. The shower gel will most probably finish up first but I doubt I’ll be able to use the body butter soon
