Linden Leaves, now under TNS Skin Lab had just celebrated its 20th Anniversary with the launch of Linden Leaves GOLD range. The GOLD range took two years to get the formulation perfect. I had the golden opportunity to meet Ms. Brigit Blair, the founder of Linden Leaves New Zealand recently and to have the luxury product home for some luxurious ‘me’ shower time indulgence at night.

Linden Leaves GOLD range has been specially designed to enhance skin moisturisation and to promote cell renewal, as well as to repair aged skin. How this works is, all the active ingredients in the range have been scientifically proven to increase moisture retention and cell regeneration. It has powerful antioxidants, neutralising and protection against free radical damage. As a result, collagen production is boosted, wrinkles and fine lines are minimized. This range is formulated with Red Rice Extract, Amaranth Oil and Protein, Chia Seed Oil, Grapeseed oil and, wait for it…23-karat gold leaf! That’s right girls. 23-karat gold!

Gold Silken Body Wash (RM189 / 150ml)

The Gold Silken Body Wash is a very gentle body wash. When I say gentle, I really do mean it. Foams can be drying on the skin and this one here does not foams up a lot like other body wash but when you use it with a shower puff, it does foams up slightly. It is enhanced with skin smoothing and firming Red Rice Extract and Amaranth Protein.

I like how the colour of the body wash is in shimmery gold. And if you look closely at the bottle you will notice specks of gold leafs floating inside the body wash. The scent is my favourite. Well, of course I’m all into the 23-karat gold leaf BUT the scent, it had me on first sniff. Rinsing was easy. Probably due to the fact that it doesn’t have a lot of foams. I like that the body wash didn’t leave me with a slippery film on top of my skin and yet it kept my skin properly moisturized and soft.

For this body wash, I would recommend using a shower puff instead of applying directly onto your skin. If you do that you will feel as if you are applying something to the skin, not showering.

Now we have come to my absolute favourite!

Gold Body Oil (RM219 / 150ml)

Those who knew me would already know that I LOVE to oil up in the shower and before I sleep. I have this fear of aging that I never feel yucky to apply a thick layer of beauty product on me before sleep. This Gold Body Oil is a treatment body oil that is enhanced with amaranth oil to hydrate the skin and to improve the moisture retention of our skin. What I was more surprised to find out was that it contain essential fatty acids from Chia seeds. Why? Because if it is good for your body, it is good enough for your skin. The fatty acids from Chia seeds helped to firm and soften the skin. You know what I was more excited about? The generous 23-karat gold leafs floating inside the oil of course!

The smell, urrgghh is amazing. Every single product of Linden Leaves GOLD range has the same scent. So you can layer each product and still smells the same. And by layering you are actually prolonging the scent. The oil is quite runny. I use a squirt or a 20 cent coin size on each part of my body. Luxurious, eh? Very.

I remember that I asked at the media lunch event if the gold leafs will be able to come out through the small hole on the bottle and I was told they do. That is what’s important right? I can confirm that they do! It has become my mission every night to get some gold leafs onto my palm . The body oil does not feel sticky on me after application. The trick in using body lotion or cream or oil is to apply while still in the shower, when you skin are still damp and warm. The product will absorb better when the pores are slightly opened up and damp. That is how I do it and also why it never feels oily or sticky on me. With the amount I used every night, I am a happy girl.

Gold Silken Body Wash comes with a pump. This is the first time I’m seeing a skincare pump-like for a body wash. And the Gold Body Oil does not comes with a pump. I wish it does as it would makes dispensing so much easier. Anyhow no complain as I am very much distracted with the gold leafs

Linden Leaves GOLD range consists of a total of six products – Gold Silken Body Wash, Gold Toning Face and Body Mist, Gold Body Oil, Gold Body Lotion, Gold Shimmer Mousse, and Gold Bath Salt. I had my eyes on the mist and mousse as the mousse is contain shimmers in it. You know how much I love shimmers and sparkles

At the media event, I learnt from Ms. Brigit Blair, the founder of Linden Leaves New Zealand that it is not easy to get NATRUE certified. Linden Leaves go through all the processes properly in order to have each and every product of theirs natural certified. But for the GOLD range, Brigit said that she love the fragrance so much that she had to forgo NATRUE certification as it is fragrance. I can totally understand why. It is hard for me to explain the scent but once you took a sniff, you will fall in love too. The scent are developed exclusively for Linden Leaves by a French parfumer. It has Green top notes of bergamot and apple, over warm, comforting middle notes of apricot, jasmine and casis. Its base notes are cedarwood, musk, red fruits and sandalwood. I know it does sound complicated and strong but trust me, it is the most subtle and beautiful scent you ever smell . It fits the “GOLD” identity very well.

Now excuse me while I take a luxurious shower with Linden Leaves Gold Body Wash, finishing off with luxurious slather of Gold Body Oil with 23-karat gold leafs all over me . Life is good now.

Everybody know I love to “oil-up” from head to toe before I sleep. I’m not someone that like to use body lotion or body butter but because I just love to oil myself up, anything that smell nice works for me. Okay I sounded so wrong saying I love to oil myself up haha! It’s not a secret too that I ABSOLUTELY love anything that bears the oil description. So when I was given a set of Argan Oil series from Body Drench, I was jumping up and down in excitement. I have a good reason for being so.

First thing first. Body Drench had quite a number of different series under their umbrella. The one I’ve been using is the Argan Oil body care series. We’ve heard so much about argan oil but I never used or try one before. According to Wikipedia Argan oil is a plant oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree (Argania spinosa L.), endemic to Morocco, that is valued for its nutritive, cosmetic and numerous medicinal properties. It is commonly referred as “liquid gold”, Argan Oil is an incredibly rich source of Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It has powerful skin conditioning and anti-aging properties that help keep skin nourished and hydrated.

Argan Oil Emulsifying Body Dry Oil – RM69.90 for 177ml

Indulge your senses with this weightless body dry oil. Infused with Moroccan Argan oil, jojoba oil and rosemary extract to restore skin’s moisture and improve elasticity. Non-greasy and quickly absorbed.

I’m particularly happy to try this body dry oil. Isn’t it ironic that oil is meant to be oily but this is a “dry oil”. It has a rich argan oil scent to it and smell heavenly! I’m totally addicted to the scent.

It comes in a normal spray bottle. It can get pretty messy spraying directly to the skin as it gets to the side like sofa or floor so I’d suggest covering the nozzle with the other hand or spray onto the palm and massage to desired area. 177ml bottle can last long. I’ve been using this diligently everyday and see no sign of the oil being used up.

Body oil are better off to be used after shower while the body is still damp but I can tell you that this dry oil is suitable to be used anytime. Reason is simple. It’s dry oil! It spray out as a lightweighted oil. Once I massage the oil in the oil dries up and disappear into the skin. There is no traces of oil at all which is amazing and weird at the same time. I’m being really generous with this body dry oil. The scent is just too addictive.

I like this alone on hot days where I don’t feel like I want to be overly sticky with body lotion or butter.

Argan Oil Ultra Hydrating Body Lotion – RM69.90 for 236ml

A creamy body lotion that deeply restores and nourishes your skin. Enriched with Moroccan Argan oil and aloe vera to moisturize, sooth and protect, while you uplift your senses with a subtle sweet scent of grapefruit and Argan.

If I love the dry oil so much there’s no reason for me not to like the body lotion. It’s thick and creamy and I like to top this up after dry oil.

This body lotion also comes in a typical normal pump bottle. It has an “Open” and “Stop” nozzle. Always like this type of pump for body lotion. However after a few usage I notice that some lotion is leaked out through the pump neck. I wonder how that happens.

I don’t really like body lotion but somehow I just like this one due to the scent. The scent is exactly the same as dry oil. Although the body lotion is infused with grapefruit, my nose can’t pick up that ingredient. All I can smell is argan oil.

I normally apply the body lotion just before I sleep, after dry oil of course. Dry oil smells nice but not moisturizing enough especially on cold nights. It is absolutely luxurious to slather a thick lotion on before sleep. The scent is heavenly, it’s creamy and thick so it’s moisturizing but not sticky to sleep with.

And here is the list of ingredients for the body lotion.

Argan Oil Replenishing Body Butter – RM69.90 for 226g

An intensive creamy all-over body butter. It absorbs easily, helping to condition, soften and smooth the skin.

I’m alternating body lotion with this body butter on daily basis. It serves the same purpose so there is no need to apply all three dry oil, lotion and butter.

What I like about this body butter is that it comes with a flip-cap unlike other body butter available in the market. It makes this lazy bum more hardworking in using this body butter due to the convenient of the packaging.

Although this is body butter, I find that it’s not overly sticky or oily. It feels just like body lotion. It’s also thick and creamy but absorbed in fast. Something different from what I’ve tried previously.

The scent on the other hand…you’ve guessed it right. It’s exactly the same with dry oil and body lotion! Which explains why I like the Argan Oil series very much

It’s hard for me to explain how exciting this range is unless you tried it personally and fell in love with the scent just like how I did. If you are someone that don’t like stickiness or body lotion / butter like me, don’t worry. I bet you will like this range all thanks to the wonderful scent.

Linden Leaves Aromatherapy Synergy Memories Body Oil is what I’m attracted to like a magnet at the moment. We’ve heard of shower oil but hardly heard of body oil nor can we find any; if I recall correctly. This is an organic rosehip and avocado oils blended with pure sweet almond and apricot kernel oils, enriched with vitamin E and infused with a luxurious blend of rose, geranium and ylang ylang, to keep skin soft and nourished.

Still confuse what this is for? Okay. In short this is something to apply after shower in replace of body lotion or cream. But why would you wanna replace your body lotion or cream? Read on!

I must admit. At first I pick this mainly because of the rose stalk that was soaked in the body oil. It looked so pretty from the outside. I mean how often do you find something like this? I have never seen it. Have you?

All Linden Leaves body oil are hand made. Workers need to insert the flowers or fruits into the bottle and fill with body oil. Linden Leaves Principal; Ms. Helen Schwass was here in Malaysia recently and she demonstrated to the staffs on how to hand made these at Pavilion outlet.

Body oil is similar to face oil in terms of texture and benefit. We often think that we should not be applying oil on our body or face as it’d make us oily. This theory is wrong. In fact oil works much better in providing the necessary benefit and function.

In terms of texture and consistency, Linden Leaves Aromatherapy Synergy Memories Body Oil is more watery and less oilier. Face oil is thicker thus oilier. So don’t start comparing your face oil with body oil

Would you believe me if I tell you this is not oily at all? Well, believe me. This is my first time using body oil and I was surprised to find that it’s not oily and absorbed immediately. My skin is soft, supple and so moisturized after applying. I’M NOT KIDDING. Just look at my hand below!

Another reason I chose this is because I’m always a fan of rose scent. I want to smell like fresh rose! The scent is not overpowering. It’s leaves my skin a subtle rosy scent. I don’t feel oily and sticky at all but in fact I feel very comfortable and fresh. No matter how I sweat I still smells like a rose

I used a pump for each leg, a pump for tummy, a pump for back + shoulder and a pump for both arms. I only use this at night. I advise you to apply this after shower while you’re still in the bathroom when your skin is still damp as your skin will absorb this much better and not forgetting to mention, less oilier too. You can also use this body oil as massage oil.

I absolutely hate applying body lotion or cream as it gives me this sticky feeling and I feel uncomfortable. Which is why you don’t see me buying that and if I have it I’ll give it out to my friend. The only thing I applied before I discover body oil is body serum but it’s very pricey. Linden Leaves Aromatherapy Synergy Memories Body Oil is exactly my thing.
