I’m into yuzu these days. To be honest I have no real knowledge on what is yuzu. All I know is they looked like a hybrid between an orange and a lemon lol . But one thing I can assure you is that yuzu smells amazing. I first fell in love with yuzu scent when I bought a pack of yuzu scented steam eye mask from Singapore last year. That changes everything as anything with yuzu is either expensive or hard to get. However that’s not just the only scent from ShiKai. I mentioned a week or two ago that TNS Skin Lab recently added the brand ShiKai into their array of natural personal care selection. You know what’s better other than ShiKai is all natural? It is Made in the USA and are not tested on animals ❤️

Moisturizing Shower Gel (RM69 / 355ml, RM14 / 60ml)

Yuzu scented shower gel? How exciting! If you think this is just another shower gel, think again. These gel actually contain maximum amount of powdered oatmeal and aloe vera gel to moisturize and relieve dry, itchy skin, and also for a smoother, softer skin. Most shower gel do, I get it. After trying the shower gel for a few weeks, I must say they are not joking. Despite being a soap-free shower gel, it actually foams up more than other shower gel I know. The foams doesn’t dries up the skin but instead the skin are kept supple. It’s even better with the body lotion, which I’ll get into later.

It has a authentic yuzu scent, almost the same with my steam eye mask, for which I am quite happy with. The scent relaxes me and makes me chirpy happy during shower. It does help if yuzu if one of your favourite scent

Moisturizing Hand & Body Lotion (RM66 / 238ml,  RM14 / 29ml)

This one I’m most excited about. It’s weird thinking back to 3 years ago when I am against body lotion. I learnt how to apply body lotion and that is not before bed time but as soon as you towel dry your skin after shower, while the skin is still damp. This way, the body absorb the product better leaving the skin soft and not sticky.

I am the most non-discipline one when it comes to using complementing scent or product. This time I told myself to not stray and just follow the step. It has Borage Oil to help to heal dry skin. I personally do have a dry skin and this lotion I would say is much more creamier and thicker than every other lotion I’ve used. It does leave a layer on the skin so use moderately, not generously like me lol. It also contain Shea Butter for that extra extra silky feel,  Aloe Vera and Vitamin E combined with Cocoabutter, Wheatgerm, Apricot and Safflower Oils for extra moisturization.

Scent wise, it’s different from the shower gel. The shower gel has a rather pleasant authentic yuzu scent while the Hand & Body Lotion has a more stronger yuzu scent that almost smells like it’s plasticky. Does it smells bad? No. It still smells like yuzu. But I get it why the lotion smells somewhat different and stronger. Complementing body care products especially lotion are in this way so that the scent are able to lingers on the skin longer. If you notice the last step products are always heavily scented.

As I’m writing this, my Hand & Body Lotion are 50% used up while my Shower Gel are still 80% full. How is that even possible? . Then I realized how much I’m using every night after shower. So much so that last Friday I went for a body massage and the therapist told me my skin are baby soft and that I took care of my skin very well. Now, now now. I am proud of that compliment. It means ShiKai Yuzu Moisturizing Shower Gel and Hand & Body Lotion really delivers what it promised and that is soft, smooth and moisturizing skin.

Linden Leaves, now under TNS Skin Lab had just celebrated its 20th Anniversary with the launch of Linden Leaves GOLD range. The GOLD range took two years to get the formulation perfect. I had the golden opportunity to meet Ms. Brigit Blair, the founder of Linden Leaves New Zealand recently and to have the luxury product home for some luxurious ‘me’ shower time indulgence at night.

Linden Leaves GOLD range has been specially designed to enhance skin moisturisation and to promote cell renewal, as well as to repair aged skin. How this works is, all the active ingredients in the range have been scientifically proven to increase moisture retention and cell regeneration. It has powerful antioxidants, neutralising and protection against free radical damage. As a result, collagen production is boosted, wrinkles and fine lines are minimized. This range is formulated with Red Rice Extract, Amaranth Oil and Protein, Chia Seed Oil, Grapeseed oil and, wait for it…23-karat gold leaf! That’s right girls. 23-karat gold!

Gold Silken Body Wash (RM189 / 150ml)

The Gold Silken Body Wash is a very gentle body wash. When I say gentle, I really do mean it. Foams can be drying on the skin and this one here does not foams up a lot like other body wash but when you use it with a shower puff, it does foams up slightly. It is enhanced with skin smoothing and firming Red Rice Extract and Amaranth Protein.

I like how the colour of the body wash is in shimmery gold. And if you look closely at the bottle you will notice specks of gold leafs floating inside the body wash. The scent is my favourite. Well, of course I’m all into the 23-karat gold leaf BUT the scent, it had me on first sniff. Rinsing was easy. Probably due to the fact that it doesn’t have a lot of foams. I like that the body wash didn’t leave me with a slippery film on top of my skin and yet it kept my skin properly moisturized and soft.

For this body wash, I would recommend using a shower puff instead of applying directly onto your skin. If you do that you will feel as if you are applying something to the skin, not showering.

Now we have come to my absolute favourite!

Gold Body Oil (RM219 / 150ml)

Those who knew me would already know that I LOVE to oil up in the shower and before I sleep. I have this fear of aging that I never feel yucky to apply a thick layer of beauty product on me before sleep. This Gold Body Oil is a treatment body oil that is enhanced with amaranth oil to hydrate the skin and to improve the moisture retention of our skin. What I was more surprised to find out was that it contain essential fatty acids from Chia seeds. Why? Because if it is good for your body, it is good enough for your skin. The fatty acids from Chia seeds helped to firm and soften the skin. You know what I was more excited about? The generous 23-karat gold leafs floating inside the oil of course!

The smell, urrgghh is amazing. Every single product of Linden Leaves GOLD range has the same scent. So you can layer each product and still smells the same. And by layering you are actually prolonging the scent. The oil is quite runny. I use a squirt or a 20 cent coin size on each part of my body. Luxurious, eh? Very.

I remember that I asked at the media lunch event if the gold leafs will be able to come out through the small hole on the bottle and I was told they do. That is what’s important right? I can confirm that they do! It has become my mission every night to get some gold leafs onto my palm . The body oil does not feel sticky on me after application. The trick in using body lotion or cream or oil is to apply while still in the shower, when you skin are still damp and warm. The product will absorb better when the pores are slightly opened up and damp. That is how I do it and also why it never feels oily or sticky on me. With the amount I used every night, I am a happy girl.

Gold Silken Body Wash comes with a pump. This is the first time I’m seeing a skincare pump-like for a body wash. And the Gold Body Oil does not comes with a pump. I wish it does as it would makes dispensing so much easier. Anyhow no complain as I am very much distracted with the gold leafs

Linden Leaves GOLD range consists of a total of six products – Gold Silken Body Wash, Gold Toning Face and Body Mist, Gold Body Oil, Gold Body Lotion, Gold Shimmer Mousse, and Gold Bath Salt. I had my eyes on the mist and mousse as the mousse is contain shimmers in it. You know how much I love shimmers and sparkles

At the media event, I learnt from Ms. Brigit Blair, the founder of Linden Leaves New Zealand that it is not easy to get NATRUE certified. Linden Leaves go through all the processes properly in order to have each and every product of theirs natural certified. But for the GOLD range, Brigit said that she love the fragrance so much that she had to forgo NATRUE certification as it is fragrance. I can totally understand why. It is hard for me to explain the scent but once you took a sniff, you will fall in love too. The scent are developed exclusively for Linden Leaves by a French parfumer. It has Green top notes of bergamot and apple, over warm, comforting middle notes of apricot, jasmine and casis. Its base notes are cedarwood, musk, red fruits and sandalwood. I know it does sound complicated and strong but trust me, it is the most subtle and beautiful scent you ever smell . It fits the “GOLD” identity very well.

Now excuse me while I take a luxurious shower with Linden Leaves Gold Body Wash, finishing off with luxurious slather of Gold Body Oil with 23-karat gold leafs all over me . Life is good now.

The first ever Soap & Glory product that I had enjoyed using and repurchased is the one and only Flake Away. It is also the cheapest body care within the brand (RM39) until I went to Sephora to repurchase a third tub. The price shoot up to RM55! I didn’t repurchase any since then and I’ve been missing Flake Away scent so so much. I can’t remember how or where I found out that Flake Away contain Soap & Glory signature Original Pink™ fragrance. So what else? I went amok with everything that has the exact scent!

When I was at the Sephora Black Card event, I grabbed a bottle of Clean On Me™ Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel. I was looking high and low for The Righteous Butter™ Body Lotion and there was none. I went back the next day with my mum to search again and I only managed to find the mini tub of The Righteous Butter™ Body Butter (RM19). I used the mini tub so moderately, as if it’s the most precious thing in the world. Then luck was on my side. I managed to purchase another bottle of Soap & Glory Clean On Me™ Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel (RM48) and The Righteous Butter™ Body Lotion (RM65) during the first Black Card Private Sale 20% OFF back in October 2014. Everything seems more worth it with 20% OFF isn’t it?

I’ve always said that I’m not a body lotion or a body butter girl. I find it to be uncomfortable having a sticky body the whole day or night. Soap & Glory completely changed me. Every night after shower I find myself eagerly wanting to slap on The Righteous Butter Body Lotion.

I find it so cool that every product under the Original Pink category bears the same scent. Other brand tend to make every item within the same scent category slightly different but based on my experience using four different products under Original Pink fragrance is that everything smells the same. At least to me . The scent lingers on the whole night and the whole morning the next day until I shower. Clean On Me™ Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel foams up very well. I only use two pumps on a shower loofah. The pump is not the deep type. It doesn’t pump up a whole lot per pump. Between The Righteous Butter™ Body Lotion and Body Butter, I’d choose The Righteous Butter™ Body Lotion. It is lighter and doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin even for someone like me who is not a fan of applying body lotion. This one I use generously. One pump for every section lol. The Righteous Butter™ Body Butter on the other hand is not bad though. I like how smooth, light and super moisturizing it is on the skin. It can be a lil tacky the next morning but I still like it. In fact I’ve bought a set of Soap & Glory Holiday 2014 set – Full Clean Ahead (RM51), which contain a full size tub of Body Butter *excited*

What I like about Soap & Glory bottle product is that the half litre (500ml) can really last a very long time. Like I said, I use one pump for each section of my body which means I’m using seven pumps each night and you know what, I’ve only used up the bit on top like what you see on the first and second photo above since end of October 2014. The shower gel will most probably finish up first but I doubt I’ll be able to use the body butter soon

And so my mum was curious as to why I went to the bathroom and took the Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath to my room. She happened to stood nearby when I tip-toe into the bathroom . As you already know what the hype is all about two months ago, Philosophy is finally launched in Malaysia back in February 2014. All this big and highly raved brands is slowly making it’s way into our country, very much to beauty enthusiast delight. There’s another one coming to us very very soon. I’ll tell you about it when I can.

I happened to be given a few of Philosophy best-seller products to try. I can’t tell which one I like because I love it all! Philosophy product works so well on me that it makes me happy by just looking at it. Because I love it so much, I thought I should also tell you about it. Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath happens to be the first Philosophy product I ever tried from the loot. This is love at first sight.

One particular product that I’ve been reading a lot on Philosophy previously is the multitasking 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath product. There are a few flavours of 3-in-1 shower gel offered by Philosophy and although I have yet to try it all, I can safely said that I’m quite glad I started off with Raspberry Sorbet flavour. One sniff already sent me to heaven. One bath? There’s no turning back!

I have heard before a few years ago from my guy friends that they only use one product for head to toe. I was like “is there such product?”. Well, looks like there is…for guy that is. This Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath is a 3-in-1 head-to-toe cleansing product. At first I thought it’s just a shower gel. When I really read through everything printed on the front of the bottle, I was pretty excited to use it as a shampoo as well. I only wish I have a bathtub at home.

The gel is not as thick as I thought it would be. But it is creamy nonetheless. It lathers so well that I need not to add more as I shower. I used it as shower gel most of the time but there are times where I used it as shampoo AND as shower gel when I was not feeling well or times when I was rushing. Tell you something funny. The first time I used it as shampoo and shower gel is when I wanted to try out how it fares as a shampoo. I know it works so well as shower gel but I have no idea at all how it would be as shampoo. Will my scalp sensitivity came back? Will I get dandruff? Or will my scalp get greasy easily? I started off with shampooing my hair. As you know I have long hair so I pour a bit more extra. What I didn’t know is that when it is used as shampoo, it lathers even more. I find myself ended up with a whole head full with thick foams. Lots of it. I wouldn’t want to waste more product to shower so I pull down all the foams to my body and start lathering myself LOL. Gross I know but I couldn’t help it. I did it because I know my hair wasn’t that dirty at all. I mean how dirty can your hair get sitting at home all day eh? You know what? Surprisingly I managed to wash the whole body by using all the foams. It feels clean, I smells like raspberry from head to toe so it’s all good

As a shampoo, it is superb! To be honest I didn’t expect that. My hair feels airy and light, my scalp doesn’t gets oily, there’s no dandruff and scalp is not itchy. Basically it works better than some shampoo. As a shower gel, the skin feels hydrated and clean. What I like is how the raspberry scent stays on me for hours and hours. I like how my hair and my skin smells the same and how there is absolutely no chemical scent at all.

Philosophy kept their bottles and jars simple. Each product has a catchy name to help you to remember the important things in life, each product has a story and each product bears an uplifting messages. As for Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath, the bottle bears a recipe for raspberry sorbet. Interesting.

This is one shower gel that I wouldn’t mind repurchasing. I like it’s multitasking usage that can double up as shampoo and shower gel for me whenever I’m feeling lazy or in a rush. I mean, guy can have a head-to-toe product and now women can too.

Philosophy range is not totally complete yet in Sephora so do give it some time for the brand to slowly bring in more and more products. Same goes to the 3-in-1 shower gel as well. If you do plan to pick up a bottle, you can always try the Raspberry Sorbet Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath
