Now that everyone has posted up their review on the NEW Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Anti-Fatigue Concealer, it’s time for me to post mine. Yes, this delayed review is on purpose as I do not want to saturate the beauty blogging scene with what everyone is doing. I like to do things a little bit different than others

Now, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is not a stranger to all of us. Everyone I know LOVE IT. I have the older version, which I had forgotten to do a comparison against the new one *face palm*. To be honest, I am not into the older Healthy Mix Foundation, which explains why you never heard me talk about it or review about it. But I could not put a finger to why I don’t like it, until I tried the NEW Healthy Mix Foundation. That’s when the imaginary light bulb in my head lights up!

All-NEW Healthy Mix Foundation (RM59.90 / 30ml)

If you heard people talking about Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, it is always about how beautiful it is on the skin. Those people were not wrong. They were right. It is beautiful on the skin. For some reason the older version does not wow me in terms of the finishing on the skin but this, this NEW Healthy Mix Foundation wow-ed me everytime I used it. It is indeed so beautiful and flawless looking on the skin. The name “Healthy” sort of gave it away that it is a foundation that gives a healthy radiant complexion, thanks to a unique mix of Vitamins in it. And that means you tend to see some shine or dewiness for some people. Matte doesn’t make one look healthy. A dewy foundation does. The “Mix” stands for all the Vitamin C, E and B5 that give skin an instant anit-fatigue effect, while the hydrating formula keeps your complexion radiant and even for up to 16 hours. Boy oh boy! I foresee a shiny face! lol

This time, Bourjois Malaysia brought in 4 shades – 52 Vanilla, 53 Light Beige, 54 Beige and 55 Dark Beige. Fairer girls would be cringing now because there are no 51 Light Vanilla in sight. I am usually on the lightest of the foundation shade but since I do outdoor sports now, I am much more tanner and so my shade would be 53 Light Beige. Sometimes I used 54 Beige when I really want to look tan . You know, ala JLo bronzed skin . But I think I am in between shade 53 and 54. I should start mixing these two shades, eh?

I am very scared to use Healthy Mix Foundation if I knew I would be out the whole day or even for a few hours. That is because this foundation turns oily on my dry/dehydrated skin within an hour. And that is after I prime the heck out of my face and powder to set like there’s no tomorrow. My face still turns oily. Mom would often comment saying how yucky and oily I am whenever I have this foundation on. Another odd thing happened whenever my face turns oily with this foundation on is that my nose (especially) is particularly itchy. I would be scratching and scratching until I couldn’t take it anymore and remove the entire makeup. I have a love and hate relationship with this foundation. It is SO beautiful on the skin but makes my skin super oily. Would I still wear it? Hell yes! But only on short hours

NEW Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer (RM39.90 / 7.8ml)

I have more luck with Bourjois concealer compared to their foundation. The new Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer works like charm on me, just like the Radiance Reveal Concealer. While there are 4 shades to choose from for the foundation, the concealer on the other hand has only 2 shades – 51 Light and 52 Medium. I like to use 52 Medium on most days and 51 Light on days I want to brighten up my under eyes. I find that shade 52 Medium cancel out the darkness better due to the darker shade and also the hint of yellow tint in it. However on a typical makeup day, I used both – 51 Light to highlight the forehead, nose bridge and jaw, while 52 Medium on the under eye.

I don’t find this Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer to perform well as pin-point concealing. It either disappeared when I dab + blend or when I powder to set. It just does not stay on the skin. I guess it is not made for that purpose . It is afterall an “Anti-Fatigue” concealer lol!

Here comes something I notice. The shade labelling.

The foundation shade comes in a sticker/security tab on the cap at the back of the bottle. For someone who has a few shades like me and that I sometimes do mix the foundation before using, I could have misplaced the caps and that will create an issue as to which cap/shade indicator goes to which bottle. I wish the shades are printed somewhere else or at least at the bottom of the bottle just like the concealer. What I will do is to take a sharpie and write it down at the bottom of the bottle. That way I wouldn’t need to worry if I ever misplaced the cap . Or if you have labelling device at home, that would work too. Any way that is convenient.

Have you tried the new Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Anti-Fatigue Concealer yet? Do give it a trial as it is definitely much more better formulation than the older version. I like how the foundation looks on my skin but the downside is, it makes my skin oily within an hour. As for the concealer, no complain at all. It work just as good as every other Bourjois concealer.

Bourjois, tsk tsk tsk. You have done it again. Rolling out new product one by one, with each and every product to be…. *beep*. You would think I will tell you at the beginning of this review and spoil everything, eh? Nah. You got to read on

Now. I have these two new eye makeup products from Bourjois for nearly 2 months ago. Again, just like the City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation and Radiance Reveal Concealer, it is the only mascara and eyeliner that I have been using everyday for the past 2 months, putting these two to test.

Volume Reveal Mascara (RM52.90)

You have seen mirror on lip gloss tube but have you seen a mirror on a mascara? Me neither. I was really surprised to find that the Volume Reveal Mascara has a magnifying mirror, built-in to the mascara body and it is able to give you the x3 zoom view. At first I thought the mirror is just a gimmick. I can always use my LED vanity table mirror but once I tried applying my mascara using this built-in mirror, that is it! I was sold. I can see every single lash and have a clearer closer look on how the brush hugged my lashes as I zig-zagged the brush on it.

I hate big mascara brush. I have to tell you this upfront. That is just a personal preference as I have short lashes. Bourjois usually freaks me out with their HUGE and BIG mascara brush. This Volume Reveal Mascara brush is actually not too bad. Still on the big side but since my lashes are longer now, I have no problem with bigger mascara brush

One trick I learnt with opening a brand new tube of mascara is to use it for one or two days and not touch it for a week or so to let the brush get tacky and drier. I am not a fan of a brand new mascara. I find that mascara just does not coat onto the lashes nicely when it is still new and wet. I prefer it to be drier. Another trick is to wave your mascara brush in the air for a few seconds before applying onto the lashes.

The one I have is the waterproof version and it is Black. Like really super Black and I love it! It does not weight the curl or lashes down no matter how many coats or how thick you apply, provided you curl them up nicely. I like drama lashes so I would do lots of coats. This is how Bourjois Volume Reveal Mascara looked like on my lashes. So black, gives me volume and the kind of thickness I like and the best part? No smudging at all. Removing is also easy surprisingly.

Liner Feutre Slim (RM42.90)

When I first uncap the Liner Feutre Slim, I let out a sigh. Felt-tip eyeliner and me just don’t gel well. I tried the eyeliner on immediately and hated it. Then the next following day, I got ready to go to an event and decided to try the eyeliner out again. That was a risk to take as I already had my eye makeup on. If I screw the liner up, I am screwed. What do you know! My eyeliner turned out perfectly nice and black and flick-y, just the way I like it.

Liner Feutre Slim was built with an ultra-precise felt-tip so that it is easy to create the liner flick. The formulation of the eyeliner is also said to lasts up to 24 hours. Honestly all eyeliners stays on and on unless you remove it with eye makeup remover. My only main concern is, does this smudge and give me panda eyes?

Some eyeliner need a bit of a shaking motion to get the ink flows down to the tip. Some dries up after a few usage. This Liner Feutre Slim does not require any shaking and the felt-tip stays wet all the time. I still see no signs of the product drying up till to date.

It has a super long felt-tip, which I appreciate very much. It makes it so much easier to navigate around my small Asian eyes in order to create a thin line along the top lash line. I was also concern about the sharpness of my flick. I have little to less experience with felt-tip eyeliner so I have no idea how to create a thin sharp flick with this type of eyeliner. It turns out I was worried for nothing. In order to get a thin line, all I need to do is to put less pressure. In fact creating a sharp flick is so much more easier with this eyeliner!

What I like about this eyeliner is how black it is. So black. This means I do not need a lot of pressure when doing my eyeliner. It does not dries down completely matte and I have no problem with a bit shine on my eyeliner. I have teary right eyes which means my eyes are super sensitive. When an eyeliner is not suitable for me, I will tear up like crazy and ruin the eyeliner flick. This Bourjois Liner Feutre Slim does not gives me teary eyes. That is good isn’t it?

The fact is, I was not expecting to like both the Volume Reveal Mascara and Liner Feutre Slim but I did. I fell in love hard. Don’t get me wrong. Bourjois mascara has been working well on me all this while. It’s just that I freak out with the humongous brush size haha! Now that my mascara is a bit drier, I love it even more. Now, the one that took my by surprise was the Liner Feutre Slim. I can never get felt-tip eyeliner to work and this one works like a charm. I was really surprised with how easy it is to use.

Cannot wait to see what Bourjois is coming out with next. So what’s cooking Bourjois?

My current everyday foundation and concealer for the past few months has been nothing but the Bourjois City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation and Radiance Reveal Concealer. I have been using them so much that I am going to run out soon because the product testing turned from a month to two months and now three months! Oppss! I hope I can sleep better now that this review is up

Eeekk! Foundation. My favourite makeup product to talk about. I can never get tired of foundation. Nope. Never will be. I get very excited whenever I am about to put on my makeup. I like to sit down, look at my foundation stash and pick which to use for the day. The past three months has been easy. I had all four City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation and Radiance Reveal Concealer right next to me so there was no stress in choosing what foundation and concealer to use.

City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation (RM54.90 / 30ml)

The City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation does looked a bit similar to the Air Mat foundation from the packaging. According to Bourjois, the new foundation is more of a dewy compared to Air Mat, which is of course more of a matte foundation.

It is a foundation made for city girls – as it blocks pollution and UV rays to protect the complexion. Now, which foundation doesn’t do that, eh? Every foundation released nowadays does that. So regardless where you are, the City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation is for everyone . It comes with 4 main features – skin brightening, hydrating light-weight all-day foundation, anti-pollutant, and protects the skin against UV rays.

Air Mat has been working well on me partly because it is a matte foundation and I am all about matte complexion. I was a little concern about City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation as it is a dewy foundation. To my surprise, it is not as dewy as I thought! To be honest with you, I find the foundation to be quite matte. I was surprised and extremely happy at the same time . If Air Mat is a little bit too yellow on you, you will be happy to find out that this City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation is more neutral. Definitely not a pink tone type of foundation but definitely not as yellow and warm as the Air Mat.

Coverage wise, it is buildable from medium to full coverage. I was given two shades to try – 02 Vanilla and 03 Light Beige. Both shades matches me perfectly. On days where I want to be with my own skin tone, I will use 02 Vanilla. On days where I want to look bronzy and warm, I go with 03 Light Beige. My favourite shade between the two is 03 Light Beige surprisingly.

Radiance Reveal Concealer (RM39.90 / 7.8ml)

The most exciting product that I have been waiting for ever since I saw this from Fleur de Force channel is none other than the Radiance Reveal Concealer. What’s so exciting about this, you asked? This concealer has been receiving so many good reviews and that it’s hydrating but does not crease. A hydrating concealer that do no crease is what I need.

Radiance Reveal Concealer comes in a teeny weeny cute small tube and with a doe-foot applicator. I love short applicator as I can grip onto the cap and glide it on my under eyes easily and precise. It is a concentrated, hydrating concealer that conceals dark circles. It does not say anywhere that it is for the under eyes so this concealer can also be used to cover any blemishes. However you need to choose your shade wisely as any shade lighter than your skin tone does illuminates and brighten, which is why I love this concealer.

I was also sent two shades to try – 01 Ivory and 02 Beige. I am glad they did because I usually use two shades each time I do my makeup. The lighter shade 01 Ivory goes on my under eyes, the bridge of my nose, forehead, chin, and upper lip as highlight, while shade 02 Beige is used to cover marks and blemishes. Some concealer disappears once you dab or blend in but not this Radiance Reveal Concealer. It stays put without budging.

The City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation comes in 4 shades, while the Radiance Reveal Concealer comes in 2 shades. The shade difference for the foundation is not that obvious but the concealer does. You can see the concealer on my face on the top photo. Huge shade difference even though it is just one shade apart! Which is why I mentioned earlier to choose your shade wisely.

The City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation as I said is not the Korean type of dewy but it is dewy when the foundation sets and shine starts to peek through. It is definitely on the matte side upon application, which I have no complain. If you set your foundation like I always do, remember to set is with a lighter powder or not too heavy handed. The foundation can get quite cakey if you are heavy handed. And when your face starts to oil up, it can make the foundation floats on your skin. That if you are heavy handed with both foundation AND powder. It has a scent similar to Air Mat but more floraly and more pleasant. I am not bothered with the scent as I like everything that smells nice haha! Excellent coverage.

Now, Radiance Reveal Concealer on another hand looks very nice on the skin. It blends like a dream but setting it with a powder is a must. That is because the concealer is afterall a hydrating concealer. The lighter shades works perfectly as a brighter, that is if you are into drawing a tribal print on your face like me . It also suits the under eyes. Having said that, I find the darker shade also works well on the under eyes. A little bit of yellow is good to cancel out any darkness on the under eyes. I am using the darker shade I have to conceal marks and blemishes. So far it find it to work well as it does not disappear as I dab and blend but matching the shade with other brand foundation is a bit tricky. It is easier if I match it with a Bourjois foundation. It has a faint floral scent to it. It is better to have a bit of a scent to it than plasticky scent like other concealer, eh? Creasing does occur and it depends on what powder I used to set it. Some powder works and some don’t. I have deep wrinkles on my under eyes so I do expect this to crease a bit. If I bake them, it does not crease.

Actually both the foundation and concealer has been making numerous appearance on my Instagram post and blog reviews. I just never mentioned it in the blog and did not mention the foundation all the time on my Instagram. Instagram followers would have notice that I have been featuring this a few times through mentions. It is just so beautiful on the skin. Whenever you see me posting a face photo on Instagram, it is this foundation.

No prize for guessing if I love these. Of course I did. Otherwise I would not have been using it for 3 months straight! I cannot tell you enough how beautiful the foundation and concealer on my skin. Now go run to Watsons or Bourjois kiosk to get yourself these beauties especially the concealer

Most people I know find drawing eyebrows are a dreadful thing to do. Me on the the other hand are obsessed with drawing eyebrows. Maybe because my eyebrows are has very little hair and sparse that I find fixing them are therapeutic. I spend quite some time with my brows everyday before leaving the house. I may appear to have eyebrows on fleek to most of you but in reality it takes a lot of effort. When it comes to eyebrows, I hold on to three rules – a good eyebrow pencil, a good brush, and skills of course. Now it’s four as I have added Bourjois Brow Design Brow Mascara into my eyebrow routine

Brow mascara is getting more and more in trend these days. Last time you hardly can find any and now? Almost every single brand has at least one. Bourjois is not new in this brow mascara bandwagon. In fact they already had one selling at Watsons and at their store called Mascara A Sourcils Eyebrow Mascara.

Bourjois Brow Drama Brow Mascara is said to give instant triple action to the brow, which is styling, tinting and setting aka fixed. It comes in a mascara-alike tube with mascara-alike brush. The brush is nothing special except for a very slight curve it has and it’s bristles are softer. I find that the brush has lots of fine bristles, something that I would like for my mascara brush

Altogether Bourjois Malaysia brought in three shades – 02 Blond, 03 Châtain, and 04 Brun. The shade I have with is is 03 Châtain. It is a dark brown. It may not seems to be a matching shade for my darker hair but after using it for a few months now, I can say that it’s a perfect shade for me . 04 Brun is just too dark for me. So 03 it is!

As you can see from the hand swatch above, the shade is very very subtle and soft. I prefer it to be this way as I can build up the intensity if I want to. I like that the hint of brown tone down the gray of my eyebrow pencil so that it is not as dark as it is after application. If I don’t say, one would not know I had eyebrow mascara on

The Before and After comparison above doesn’t seems to make a lot of difference but when you look closer, Brow Drama gave my brows a hint of tint. It also make each and every brow hair I have somewhat more visible strand by strand so it looked fuller. If only my left brow has more hair so it would be perfect

So to show you how much I like this Bourjois Brow Drama, here is another Before and After comparison on my fuller brow. I figure that this brow has more hair so it is easier for me to show you the difference . Typically my brow still has a bit of foundation residue even after brushing them thoroughly with a brush and after filling it up with eyebrow pencil. What I like about this Brow Drama is that it takes away the ‘whiteness’ of my brow by giving them a tint. As a result, a much more fuller brow! <3 . On me, the brow mascara lasted the whole day

I cannot find anything that I do not like about this Brow Drama. It is subtle, just the way I like it, the brush is soft and small enough for my sparse brows, and the mascara does not set flakey or harden. The shade 03 Châtain suits my hair colour perfectly! Absolutely natural looking. If you do not tell, no one will know you had brow mascara on
