On every October every year, I would be all hands and legs on being a part of breast cancer awareness campaign as much as I can. This year, I kick start my participation with XIXILI for their Stand Up For Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, which is now currently held at Ground Floor, South Court, Mid Valley Megamall. The awareness campaign and event started from 28th September and it will end tonight hence this last minute blog post to urge you to GO NOW!

There are loads of on-ground activities happening at the event area. To give you a quick glance, here are what to expect.

• Breast health consultations & Clinical Breast Examination (CBE) by the certified nurses of the BCWA Team.
• Public donation and fundraising through sales of pink merchandise by BCWA.
• An interactive Pink Pledge.
• Pink Ribbon Visual Art Display.
• Mount and pose on Harley Davidson “Pink” Bikes.
• Kiss and Pledge Lip Services by Shu Uemura.
• Charity Dry Hair Cuts by Number76.
• A celebratory Pink Walk parade by breast cancer survivors & supporters.
• Wheel of Hope with prize giveaways.

Many of you asked before where do I get all my Pink Ribbon pins. A few years ago when I decided to be on-board on all breast cancer awareness campaigns, I drove to Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) at Petaling Jaya, walked in and purchased all the pins I want. So every day for the whole month of October, you will be sporting me with different pin everyday . The fact is, not many people are aware that they can just walk-in to BCWA centre to make a donation or purchase their Pink merchandize. The good news is, BCWA had a section at XIXILI Stand Up For Pink event to sell their merchandize. I was so happy when I saw this.

I like how XIXILI section out a private room for professional nurse to conduct complimentary Clinical Breast Examination (CBE) for the public. There is a queue line but I think this is so much worth it. If you can queue food or even for warehouse sale, you should be queuing for this too. It is not everyday you get a complimentary check.

Number76 also kindly on-board as a part of the event co-partners by providing charity dry hair cut for just RM15.

Harley-Davidson Kuala Lumpur, one of my ex-client from my motoring days is also on-board as one of the co-partners by placing two of their Harleys at the event for Instagram Photo Contest. It is as simple as Ride, Selfie & Hashtag.

The highlight of the event yesterday was Pink Walk with all the breast cancer survivors. It is just a simple few rounds of walk around the event area, which I have uploaded on my Instagram Stories

Any awareness campaign will not be successful if everyone is ignorant about it. Be apart of it and help to spread the awareness. You may think that what you are doing may not do any difference but trust me, an extra voice and hand always make a difference.

This year is XIXILI’s 11th year in the row for their annual breast cancer awareness campaign, a cause closed to XIXILI as a lingerie brand to remind Malaysian women to take charge on their breast health and be breast aware. Thank you XIXILI for having me at the launch of the event yesterday. You have no idea how much this means to me in every way, having to lost an aunt a few years ago from breast cancer.

Every year, XIXILI promotes breast cancer awareness through education and a consistent reminder for women of all ages to practice their monthly Breast Self-Examination (BSE). BSE can be performed at home on a monthly basis. XIXILI is also active and advocate in helping others to spread the awareness of breast cancer.

It was lots of fun at Estée Lauder Pink Charity Ride 2015 which was held last Saturday 17th October at Mid Valley Megamall. I could not sleep at all probably due to excitement, that I needed to wake up early or it could be the coffee I had at 5pm the day before. Since I do not really sleep that much these days (or rather not sleeping at all), I took a light breakfast at home at 4am (crazy, I know) as I was a bit hungry. I left my house at 5.30am and reached Mid Valley at 6am.

For some odd reasons, the road was pretty busy at 5.30am on a Saturday. When I was nearing Mid Valley, it gotten busier. The mall surrounding was ‘lively’ and so does the basement parking. I saw happy sights of participants prepping their bikes and testing their bikes around the parking lot.

I registered myself, took some coffee and walked to the Start of the ride. I wish I could tell you the feeling I had at that time. The surrounding was full with excitement, happy and supportive participants. Lots of positive energy and vibes around me. None the less, I was at the right place at the right time.

Every year, Estée Lauder Companies do its part through various outreach efforts on Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign and raise funds for charitable beneficiaries. This year, the theme was ‘Every Action Counts’. Through this campaign, the company aimed to raise even more awareness and raise funds for the charitable bodies through various collaborations and exciting activities. This is inspired by a sole belief that only with greater awareness on breast cancer that more people will be able to take the right action and make the next step to lend a helping hand.

The Pink Charity Ride 2015 began with a warm up session by Fitness First. Cyclists age 18 and above are welcomed for a fun ride around Mid Valley to Dataran Merdeka and at the same time contributing to a good cause. Tickets were sold at RM80 for each participation. In return, participants will get a Brooks T-shirt, a goody bag and a chance of winning a lucky draw prize! The proceeds will be donated to the beneficiaries.

I can’t remember what time was the Flag Off as I was taking photos on both my phone and camera AND taking video in between that . Everyone was so energetic and happy to start peddling! Sports person are weird. They know they will suffer later (sore legs and bum) and yet they are still so happy

Since I can’t cycle or rather afraid to cycle, I went for breakfast at Starbucks and waited for everyone to come back. Around 8am, we saw the convoy lead (in motorcycle) came back so we quickly rush over to the finishing line.

The event ended within the estimated time frame. Once again, the mall was surrounded with positive energy from tired but happy participants. It was a successful and the most organized charity event I have ever been to. I was actually sad that it ended so soon.

In between that, I sneaked away to the South Court on the inside of the mall for the Pink Pledge, which was held from 1st-4th October and 12th-18th October 2015. This effort is made possible with partnership from Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall to reach out to Malaysians with a touch of pink. Anyone could easily submit their pledge for the cause and the pledges will appear on the Digital Pledge Wall. Throughout the Pink Charity Ride, I have been posting lots of photos on my Instagram with the hashtag #EsteeLauderMalaysia and #BCAstrength and even gotten my photos printed out . You can do the same too (minus the photo printout) by posting a photo on Instagram and hashtag #BCAstrength.
