Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 1
I received a rather very surprised parcel one fine day just as I was reversing my car out and it was from Maybelline. I was a curious cat, ripping the courier plastic off to see what Maybelline sent me and I am not prepared for this. 12 pieces of brand new The Loaded Bolds lipsticks that was just released. All 12 new shades! With funky shades that I’ve been eyeing! Surprised, yes. Excited, hella yes!

At one glance I thought these Maybelline The Loaded Bolds lipstick are a matte lipstick. I have no idea why I think so. Maybe because every lipstick that was released to the market are either matte or liquid lipstick lol. Hey, I have no complain. You know how much I love my matte lipstick 😉 . In fact, The Loaded Bolds is a creamy lipstick that offers vibrant and full-spectrum shades as seem from my Instagram post here, here, and a look I did yesterday.

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 2
There are 3 beautiful reds. I don’t usually lean towards red or often you would hear me say red are beautiful. In this case, it is exceptional. The reds are really gorgeous. Two of them looked similar but has slightly different tone of red when swatched. One of course is like Ferrari red. Striking.

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 3
There are two pinks and both are complete opposite. One a fuchsia pink (left), super gorgeous and I wear it out all the time and one a deeper fuchsia pink-alike that almost looks like a red from the tube itself.

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 4
The deeper tones in the range will be the favourite of many. I should have put the purple in the “bold” category below but I do kind of consider it as something deep. Whenever I wear the purple out, I get tons of people asking me what purple and from which lipstick brand that I was wearing. It is extremely flattering on me for some reason. All purple does lol. I personally like purple and I was glad that purple turns out good on me 🙂 . There is also a dark chocolate shade (right) that is a rare find and is absolutely as beautiful as the name sound. I cannot wait to wear this shade out today!

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 5
Then there is the bold, special shades. This is my favourite category of all, which is why I like The Loaded Bolds range that much. As I said earlier, the purple should be in this category. I don’t know what has gotten into me that day that I put it in the  deeper tone bunch lol. I have been eyeing on the blue ever since I saw it at the drugstore. How often do you see a blue lipstick in the market? Not often, I can tell you that. This is also a lipstick that everyone has been eyeing too as the price range doesn’t break the bank. The white is intimidating. I don’t know what to do with it. One day I figured out what it is for. You can use it to tone down a shade or for days when you need to do a custom creative look, halloween or not. And of course if you have a white, a blue, and a purple, there must be a black. Yeap. A black lipstick ya’all!! Same as the white, the black can be used to make a shade darker. Or if you prefer, to wear it on it’s own. No one is judging. I certainly won’t 😉

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 6
Yesterday I did this look with the blue lipstick – 04 Audacious Blue. I’ve been dying to play with the blue since I got my hands on it. This is a bold lipstick shade so either apply a lip liner in advance for easy application or use a lip brush. I chose lip brush as I don’t have a blue lip liner. Application is stressful. The more stress I get, the more mess I make. I learnt not to use finger to smudge away mistake even if it’s just a little bit as the skin would turn grey LOL. I must admit. It takes a lot of patience just so there was no mistake as it is a bold shade.

This shade however is less opaque than every other shade in the range. You will see it from the swatches below. I had to go over again and again to get a full opacity coverage. Applying directly from the tube gives a better thick coverage than lip brush. I also notice that the lipstick is kind of soft. The bullet tend to lean over to the side of the casing, creating lines of dent. I can hear my heart broke into pieces the minute I saw it.

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 11
And here are all of the Maybelline The Loaded Bolds lipstick swatches.

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 8

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 9

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds 10
The white and the blue is the most non-opaque of all. The baby pink however surprised me. It is so pretty and quite opaque. Price wise, it is cheaper than I thought at RM29.90 a piece. Sometimes you may spot some discount and good deals making the lipstick at RM24+ a piece only 😉 . Although I would prefer a matte lipstick, these goes on creamy but doesn’t look glossy or slip throughout the day. A few friends commented saying they thought I had matte lipstick on. I kind of like the finishing, not glossy-looking, velvety soft and comfortable.

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds is available at all major pharmacies and supermarket nationwide.

Price: RM29.90

NYX Butter Gloss 1
I was going through my lipstick drawers and I kept looking at these NYX Butter Gloss, which I bought a few years ago for one sole purpose. Yeap. The one and only lip gloss that I used, like, love and still using 🙂 . I still remember a few years ago when NYX arrived Sephora. It was so exclusive and limited that every single day all the NYX counter would be swamped with girls. I literally have to snuck one arm in between waists to grab something. IT WAS INSANE. There was two product that was all hyped up back then. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, which I hate and this NYX Butter Gloss.

Butter Gloss is a lip gloss that is said to be super hydrating and not sticky. Did someone said not sticky? I’m in! But that’s not all what people say about Butter Gloss. The reason why I bought a lip gloss (rare case) was because I read about how this Butter Gloss works like a charm as lipstick topper, especially on dry lipstick. So I went on a hunt for Créme Brulee. That’s the shade that errrbody was raving for. I have to hunt for it because it was sold out everywhere. Whenever Sephora restock them, it was sold out again.

NYX Butter Gloss 2
My first NYX Butter Gloss was Créme Brulee. I can’t remember how much I bought but it was hella cheap. RM22 maybe? I cannot remember. I don’t use it on its own because I still am not a fan of lip gloss what more having lip gloss on my entire lips on its own. At that time I had issues with lipstick being too dry or cracked and this Butter Gloss is said to work in preventing that if you apply a little bit on the center of the lip. Boy oh boy it works like magic. It is so comfortable on the lips, NOT sticky at all and lasts the whole day. Despite having a matte lipstick on that was drying, a little bit of Butter Gloss on the center of the lips took my mind off the entire day. It is just too comfortable.

It is not opaque. That, you have to take note. But it is decent enough. What I like about this being a lip topper is that regardless what shade I used, it still look natural. It doesn’t change the lipstick shade at all. It just brings life back to the lips. Some lip gloss can break up a lipstick making it all patchy but not Butter Gloss. So far I have no problem with that. It doesn’t change the lipstick texture. It’s like it has its own life lol.

NYX Butter Gloss 3
The scent is quite vanilla-y. Quite pleasant and not nauseating at all. The scent doesn’t lingers on for long. It is gone in no time. If you want a good gloss that is not sticky, affordable and good as lipstick topper to get rid of the dry lipstick feeling, get this Butter Gloss. I am also aware that there is a Intense Butter Gloss. Honestly I have not tried the intense version yet so I can’t compare and tell you which is better. This 5 tubes I have will last me ages and I don’t intend to get anymore 😛

I just did a quick run through my old Sephora receipts and true enough, NYX Butter Gloss was RM22. I bought Créme Brulee at full price and the remaining 4 Butter Gloss I bought at the same year during Sephora Private Sale. I paid RM17.60 each after 20% OFF. Not bad eh! 😀

NYX Butter Gloss is available at all Sephora stores nationwide and at Hermo.

Price: RM26

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl 1
I wasn’t supposed to have a post up today, but Breena Beauty’s last delivery is today and Breena Beauty Blending Pearl introduction price of RM30 is ending this 23rd June so I thought I better put this up before you girls kill me 😛

Breena Beauty, the brainchild of fellow beauty blogger friend Sabrina Tajudin need no introduction. Everybody know Breena Beauty and my friend over here 😀 . Her recent launch kinda got everyone of us excited as she launched a beauty sponge named Blending Pearl. Now, I have a friend at Kota Kinabalu Sabah who bought the Blending Pearl, tagged me in a post and one of her friend/follower on Instagram commented that this is a copy of beauty blender. I shot that comment down because this may be a beauty sponge, it is so much different than beauty blender. Yes the concept is the same but if you have used both you will know that they are both different in so many ways.

First distinctive difference is the slanted flat side. Does beauty blender have it? No dear, they don’t. When I first saw this feature on the Blending Pearl for the first time, I raised my hands up to the air and praised the Beauty God. I always like the idea of a slanted cut on the sponge as this makes the tip even more pointy and the flat side enables the sponge to reach those hard to reach area. I particularly like it for the under eye concealer, baking and many more. This is one great feature of the Blending Pearl.

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl 2
One thing you have to note is the size. At it’s original state (dry, undampened), the Blending Pearl is larger and wider in size compared to the beauty blender. When you run this sponge under a running tap, it gets bigger and bigger. What I notice then is how soft the sponge is. Usually you will know if a beauty sponge is going to be a good one or not once you dampen it. That is when I knew I am going to like this sponge.

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl 3
I notice that there are a lot of white foams or rather soapy foams at first rinse. This went off immediately and I did not see it on second rinse onwards. Blending Pearl is a latex-free sponge that can be used wet or dry. Personally I prefer to use it wet 🙂 . It comes in just one color – Baby Pink. It really doesn’t look very pink when it is expanded.

I have been using brushes for my foundation because I am so lazy with damping my beauty blender. Somehow I find that the dampness from beauty blender sort of diluted my foundation and I don’t like that. However, I did not encounter this issue with Breena Beauty Blending Pearl. It bounces so easily on my face and due to its gigantic size and softness, I finished my base routine in no time. It doesn’t really soak up product so I get a good coverage with my foundation. Recently I have been trialing out the new Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Youth Boosting Spotless Foundation and also trialing out this Blending Pearl at the first time. The foundation is a serum foundation which is more watery so naturally I was so curious to see how Blending Pearl took it. To my surprise, the foundation that used to give me a sheer courage goes on so well with better coverage compared to every other tool I’ve tried. I’ve tried foundation brush, I’ve tried beauty blender and I’ve tried my fingers. I only like Blending Pearl with it.

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl 4
I loveeeee the slanted flat side. It fits under my under eyes perfectly and blends the under eyes concealer away in no time. No matter how many layers of concealer I layered on, this Blending Pearl blends it away without caking it up. This slanted flat side is also good for under eye baking and contour line baking. I don’t have the photos with me now as I bake lesser 😛 but I’ve tried it several times on days I needed my makeup to look more precise and I love this sponge for that purpose. Blending Pearl also work for cream contour product and cream blush. All good!

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl 5
If you’re thinking to spend RM99 for a blending blender, don’t. I can tell you this Breena Beauty Blending Pearl is so much better. I own 3 beauty blender and I hardly reach for it as it soaks up so much product. Some said it gives a flawless finishing but I find it doesn’t do that for me. This Blending Pearl does. Not only I get my base makeup done faster, I get a good coverage with it and the finishing is amazingly smooth. Now go get it before the introduction price of RM30 ends. Then, you will pay RM35 for it. Don’t say I bojio 🙂

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl is available at http://breenabeauty.com/.

Price: RM30 introduction price until 23rd June 2017, normal price RM35 each.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Anti-Fatigue Concealer
Now that everyone has posted up their review on the NEW Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Anti-Fatigue Concealer, it’s time for me to post mine. Yes, this delayed review is on purpose as I do not want to saturate the beauty blogging scene with what everyone is doing. I like to do things a little bit different than others 🙂

Now, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is not a stranger to all of us. Everyone I know LOVE IT. I have the older version, which I had forgotten to do a comparison against the new one *face palm*. To be honest, I am not into the older Healthy Mix Foundation, which explains why you never heard me talk about it or review about it. But I could not put a finger to why I don’t like it, until I tried the NEW Healthy Mix Foundation. That’s when the imaginary light bulb in my head lights up!

All-NEW Healthy Mix Foundation (RM59.90 / 30ml)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
If you heard people talking about Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, it is always about how beautiful it is on the skin. Those people were not wrong. They were right. It is beautiful on the skin. For some reason the older version does not wow me in terms of the finishing on the skin but this, this NEW Healthy Mix Foundation wow-ed me everytime I used it. It is indeed so beautiful and flawless looking on the skin. The name “Healthy” sort of gave it away that it is a foundation that gives a healthy radiant complexion, thanks to a unique mix of Vitamins in it. And that means you tend to see some shine or dewiness for some people. Matte doesn’t make one look healthy. A dewy foundation does. The “Mix” stands for all the Vitamin C, E and B5 that give skin an instant anit-fatigue effect, while the hydrating formula keeps your complexion radiant and even for up to 16 hours. Boy oh boy! I foresee a shiny face! lol

This time, Bourjois Malaysia brought in 4 shades – 52 Vanilla, 53 Light Beige, 54 Beige and 55 Dark Beige. Fairer girls would be cringing now because there are no 51 Light Vanilla in sight. I am usually on the lightest of the foundation shade but since I do outdoor sports now, I am much more tanner and so my shade would be 53 Light Beige. Sometimes I used 54 Beige when I really want to look tan 😛 . You know, ala JLo bronzed skin 😀 . But I think I am in between shade 53 and 54. I should start mixing these two shades, eh?

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation Shades
I am very scared to use Healthy Mix Foundation if I knew I would be out the whole day or even for a few hours. That is because this foundation turns oily on my dry/dehydrated skin within an hour. And that is after I prime the heck out of my face and powder to set like there’s no tomorrow. My face still turns oily. Mom would often comment saying how yucky and oily I am whenever I have this foundation on. Another odd thing happened whenever my face turns oily with this foundation on is that my nose (especially) is particularly itchy. I would be scratching and scratching until I couldn’t take it anymore and remove the entire makeup. I have a love and hate relationship with this foundation. It is SO beautiful on the skin but makes my skin super oily. Would I still wear it? Hell yes! But only on short hours 😀

NEW Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer (RM39.90 / 7.8ml)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer
I have more luck with Bourjois concealer compared to their foundation. The new Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer works like charm on me, just like the Radiance Reveal Concealer. While there are 4 shades to choose from for the foundation, the concealer on the other hand has only 2 shades – 51 Light and 52 Medium. I like to use 52 Medium on most days and 51 Light on days I want to brighten up my under eyes. I find that shade 52 Medium cancel out the darkness better due to the darker shade and also the hint of yellow tint in it. However on a typical makeup day, I used both – 51 Light to highlight the forehead, nose bridge and jaw, while 52 Medium on the under eye.

I don’t find this Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer to perform well as pin-point concealing. It either disappeared when I dab + blend or when I powder to set. It just does not stay on the skin. I guess it is not made for that purpose 😀 . It is afterall an “Anti-Fatigue” concealer lol!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer Shades
Here comes something I notice. The shade labelling.

The foundation shade comes in a sticker/security tab on the cap at the back of the bottle. For someone who has a few shades like me and that I sometimes do mix the foundation before using, I could have misplaced the caps and that will create an issue as to which cap/shade indicator goes to which bottle. I wish the shades are printed somewhere else or at least at the bottom of the bottle just like the concealer. What I will do is to take a sharpie and write it down at the bottom of the bottle. That way I wouldn’t need to worry if I ever misplaced the cap 😀 . Or if you have labelling device at home, that would work too. Any way that is convenient.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Anti-Fatigue Concealer Shade Label

Have you tried the new Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Anti-Fatigue Concealer yet? Do give it a trial as it is definitely much more better formulation than the older version. I like how the foundation looks on my skin but the downside is, it makes my skin oily within an hour. As for the concealer, no complain at all. It work just as good as every other Bourjois concealer.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Anti-Fatigue Concealer is available at Sunway Pyramid kiosk or selected Watsons stores nationwide.

Price: RM59.90 – foundation, RM39.90 – concealer
