So far BY TERRY‘s new launches has been nothing but interesting and a hit. From the much love Rouge-Expert Click Stick, which remains my most used and favourite lipstick, to the interesting Techno Aura Glow-Expert Duo Stick, which I had fun making video of, and Eye Designer Palette Parti-Pris, which is an underestimated eyeshadow palette. Out with the Spring now let’s welcome Autumn/Winter 2017 collection – the BY TERRY Expert 2017 Collection.

BY TERRY Expert 2017 Collection adapted a new technology – I.M.C.® short for Intensive Mimetic Camouflage technology that is inspired by backstage and photo shoot makeup session challenges. The products within the collection are formulated with optical prisms blend, micro-camouflage pigments and mineral powders. All these work hand-in-hand to blur every imperfection on the skin, it smoothes skin texture if any, minimizes shin, capture and reflect light and it brings out the skin’s natural beauty. Compact-Expert Dual Powder (RM235)

The product I’m most excited about is the Compact-Expert Dual Powder. I do have a soft spot for powder. Honestly, at one glance I would tell you this is a bronzing powder. But when I saw the lighter shades, I would then say it’s a highlighter powder. So what exactly are these powder?

The answer is, it is a hybrid powder for mattifying, illuminating, blushing, bronzing, sculpting, strobing and concealing. In another word, it’s an all-in-one- powder!

Unify
To use it as an overall powder, just swirl both shades together and apply all over the face for a luminous, flawless complexion. It mattifies the T-zone and has a coverage to conceal shadows and other imperfection.

Sculpt
The outer ring has a gorgeous golden warmth that are suitable to be used to contour the face. It adds warmth and can be used effortlessly to sculpt the face. The warmth depth varies, so choose one that suits your skin tone.

Illuminate
At the center of the compact is an iridescent highlighter. Used together with the outer ring shade for an all-over natural looking glow or use it alone on the high points of your face to highlight!

How can one get away with an effortless flawless complexion using the Compact-Expert Dual Powder even without any makeup expertise? Easy. The secret lies within the powder’s smart pigments. The second main product within the Expert 2017 Collection is the Stylo-Expert Click Stick.

Adapting to the unique water droplet shape from the Rouge-Expert Click Stick lipstick, the Stylo-Expert Click Stick is Terry de Gunzberg’s promise to keep the multi-purpose stick the smallest but able to achieve as much as possible. The result is a silky stick that are ultra-creamy with ultra-lightweight formula to cover dark circles, camouflage imperfections and unify the complexion by sculpting the face using contouring or highlighting technique.

Thanks to I.M.C® Intensive Mimetic Camouflage technology once again, this multi-purpose stick is velvety and matte, providing barely there coverage to absolute opacity. It’s fully customizable!

Terry de Gunzburg created an application that is simple to master and effective – pat the product onto the areas that need correcting, as if you were making polka dots, and then blend into the skin with fingertips or sponge or brush.

Tool-Expert Retractable Kabuki Brush (RM219)

A new brush was also brought in as the perfect companion brush to the Compact-Expert Dual Powder. The Tool-Expert Retractable Kabuki Brush are made with ultra-light synthetic bristles. It has a dome-shape top to sweep on makeup in a single stroke. Another feature of the brush is it’s retractable case for easy travel and hygiene.

Rouge-Expert Click Stick (RM139)

Another five new nude shades were also added into the existing Rouge-Expert Click Stick lipstick range. These new matte velvet shades are said to be the classic. Terry wanted to bring a little more character to nude shades by enhancing sublime skin tones. These shades idealize natural beauty with true colors that cling divinely to the lips.

Luxury beauty brand By Terry recently unveiled its Spring 2017 collection with the theme Techno Aura, Style Collection Spring 2017. The collection made out of three main products that are described as “icy-chilled” textures, light-catching shades, and irresistible and “hybrid” innovations, with shimmering haloes of light, hues that change and mutate collection. By Terry described the collection to be a supernova, with explosion of cosmic, joyful light from the “techno” galaxy. It what Terry de Gunzburg, the Founder loves so much.

Glow-Expert Duo Stick (RM215, available in 3 shades)

The hybrid product in the collection has got to be this Glow-Expert Duo Stick.
By Terry has jumped onto the “strobbing” bandwagon with this multi-purpose Glow-Expert Duo Stick. It is made with three purpose – as a blush, a bronzer and as highlighter. It is a 3-in-1 product AND it comes with an integrated brush on the other end. Indeed a professional makeup tool. The stick comes with two complementary shades focusing on shaping the facial contours and focusing on radiance. Glow-Expert Duo Stick defines simple modern strobing in a swipe.

This has got to be the most interesting lipstick launch I have ever been to. You know how we are all craving for something innovation, something different from the others and something unique? If you are one of them, like me then you are in for the new hybrid lipstick from BY TERRY.

Let me go back to how this new lipstick started. A little bit of history. BY TERRY’s iconic foundation in a brush – the Light-Expert Click Brush is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. To celebrate the anniversary, BY TERRY Founder – Terry de Gunzburg launched this Rouge-Expert Click Stick lipstick. It is invented as a three-in-one wonder for the lips. BY TERRY Rouge-Expert Click Stick collection comes in a whopping 25 shades. All are gorgeous if I may say so. It is a balmy, creamy richly pigmented formula lipstick with long-lasting intense color. Because of this, the lipstick is a plush-touch velvety finish type of lipstick and it glides on the lip surface like silk. I want to say butter but this is BY TERRY afterall so let’s go fancy and say silk instead

Now, what I like about this lipstick is the long slim lacquered tube and the small water droplet shape lipstick bullet. It is designed in this way so that the lipstick also act as a lip liner. With its pencil precision, it is able to line the lips easily. This is especially handy to bring in your handbag everywhere for touch up. No more bringing a separate lip liner!

There is a push button at the end of the lipstick tube. This push-button control the amount of lipstick to be dispense out. You will be amazed with how bit by bit of the lipstick bullet came out through a push of a button. I particularly like this idea as you minimizes the risk of breaking your lipstick in half if you twist it up too much. The shape of the lipstick bullet enables you to line and contour the lips precisely and fills in the entire lips with ease.

I am sure by now you know the cosmetic brand, By Terry. But did you know By Terry also have skin care AND fragrance line as well? I am not aware about the fragrance line until I went for Terry de Gunzburg Thé Glacé launch.

Thé Glacé Aqua Parfum is a perfume by Terry de Gunzburg, the Founder of By Terry. Terry describe this new scent as a chic, unique, magnetic, aquatic scent based on her herb garden. The fragrance opens up to a refreshing, sparkling Eau Fraîche summery scent, an olfactory tattoo in limited edition. When the scent tones down, I was pretty sure I’m smelling something that resembles a cologne. Not the manly type of cologne mind you, but a light refreshing one. It was…delicious!

The notes used to make this spontaneous like cologne, sophisticated as an Eau de Parfum fragrance includes lime, grapefruit, verbena, tea, almonds, lavender, floral notes, moss, and musk.

The 100ml bottle is kept simple. A sturdy square, thick glass with a heavy oval cap, which Terry named it as “drop of mercury”. You will notice the rather interesting embossed engravings between the broken lines in tangy green and gleaming gold with silver label on the front that was inspired by the Mediterranean and the French Riviera. Terry pays tribute to Sonia Delaunay, a revolutionary artist whom she and Sonia both share the same love for color and timeless design in abstract graphics.
