Micellar make-up remover seems like the talk of the town these days. My very first encounter with Micellar make-up remover is when I’m still in my teen. I walked up to Guardian Mid Valley and purchase a whole lot of Avéne skin care. Among all the deluxe samples that I was given, Micellar Lotion Cleanser & Make-Up Remover is one of it. I was told a 20cent coin size on a cotton pad is all I need to remove the whole face’s make-up. No need to top up, no need to repeat the removing process. Just one cotton pad will do. I never find that seems to work for me even when I have the lightest base make-up on but, I did returned to purchase a full size bottle as I find the whole “water” make-up remover thing something interesting.

Based on my earlier experience story, you can already tell that I’m not a fan of micellar make-up remover. It has been quite a good few years that I didn’t bother to look at this type of make-up remover in the market. So when Corine de Farme brought in their star product – Micellar Make-Up Remover Lotion and told me to try it, I was a bit hesitated. I don’t understand one thing. Of all product why would their Micellar Make-Up Remover Lotion the main attraction and not other skin care? That got me thinking.

What is Micellar Make-Up Remover Lotion?

Micellar Make-Up Remover Lotion aka Micellar Water is a water-based cleanser with tiny molecules of oil suspended within the formula, which breaks down dirt and make up and removes it from the face. This Corine de Farme one is made with a minimum of 96% ingredients of natural origins, paraben-free, no phenoxyethanol, no colourant, free from alcohol and soap. This means it’s a good option cleanser for those who like a non-rinse cleanser or for those that is always on the go.

Corine de Farme claimed that their Micellar Make-Up Remover Lotion is also able to remove waterproof eye make-up. Let’s do a little experiment shall we? This is the best part of all where I get to put this remover to test with a few of my most stubborn cosmetics . I chose this varieties of product due to their function, staying powder, consistency, ingredients, texture and color. I left these swatches to set on the back of my hand for a good 10 minutes.

Corine de Farme Micellar Make-Up Remover Lotion is colorless but it does comes with a nice scent to it. One thing that I love about Corine de Farme is definitely the scent. It is soooo good! It’s infused with Peony Flowers extract, that works for soothing irritation properties. So yes, that explains the nice scent to it

I usually use the normal cotton pad but I find it too thin and too small for removing make-up so now I’ve switched to a bigger cotton pad from Muji which I find it more convenient and it works so much better for me.

Most of the make-up comes off effortless with a single wipe and some will need a few more wipes. I have to force-wipe Clio Gelpresso Pencil Gel Liner #No.3 Star Purple as it’s after all a gel eyeliner that set completely when it dries down. It still left a color tint on my hand as you can see but that usually will comes off with double cleansing.

There is no need for double cleansing because this doesn’t leave a sticky residue on, which I quite like. The scent however does linger on for a while but after some time the scent will just disappear. Maybe because of the formulation and because this is indeed a water make-up remover, my face is actually more hydrated. I usually use this when I need to get rid of the make-up from my face like immediately and continue with what I was doing until when I’m free, then only I’ll proceed with the double cleansing.

Eventhough Corine de Farme Micellar Make-Up Remover Lotion is indeed performing much better than other micellar make-up remover that I’ve tried before, I’m still not quite sure about using this type of water remover on daily basis. I would prefer to remove all my make-up in the shower and double cleanse soon after. This remover is quite good in removing face and eye make-up but as I said it before, I would prefer to use a separate eye makeu-up remover. I find it to be a bit tedious and waste of cotton pad. I hardly take a short cut in removing my make-up so this product is still not in my daily staple unfortunately. My perception on micellar make-up remover has definitely changed a bit but I’m still not into it.

So will love this? Girls with lighter makeup and girls who like an all-in-one remover will definitely love this
