Dove, who is not a stranger in hair care recently introduces it’s new Intense Repair range as they recognises the importance of repairing hair damage at a deeper level. It is unavoidable that we women love to experiment and change hair style in an attempt to look our best. What we women didn’t realise and often overlook is the daily damage we put our crowning glory through. I’m pretty excited about this Dove Intense Repair range in particular because my hair is kind of spoilt at the lower end and with split ends. As usual, I’ll talk a little bit about our hair and hair damage as I find this piece of information useful and not many knew about this. I’m quite glad I learnt all this just the other day.

From the deep within, damaged hair usually strips away keratin that is found in hair structure thus making overall hair weak, dull and lifeless. That sounds pretty much like my hair at the moment. But of course through our naked eyes, damaged hair is often seen as just brittle, dull and unmanageable. That is what we see on the surface. Deep inside the hair strand is not as simple as we all think.

What is Keratin?

Keratin is a type of protein that forms the building blocks of hair, nails and skin. It makes up 60 to 90 percent of each hair strand, which is why the existence of Keratin is important. Keratin is essential as it helps to impart strength and resilience to hair fibre while forming a natural protection on hair. So when Keratin is compromised aka broken, it will cause a continuous damage to the hair at cellular level.

Dove’s breakthrough patented “Keratin Repair Actives” is a winning formulation. Keratin Repair Actives function by helping hair reconstruct through strengthening at its core. This can be done as the formulation penetrates into hair fibre to stabilise proteins of each hair fibre and prepare it for internal repair. I find it interesting that we were told by John Goh, Research & Development Deploy Manager (Home & Personal Care) of Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings Sdn Bhd that these Microsheets in the conditioner will plump up each hair strand i.e. separating each strand away from each other and that’s the slippery feeling that we get from conditioning. No doubt it contain silicone but it is a combination of silicone and Microsheets that work hand in hand to create such effect.

Last Saturday’s Dove blogger event was the earliest in my event history as it was scheduled at 9am. No problem for me as I’m used to waking up early despite waking up to a migrain because I couldn’t sleep well lately :(.

Rather than the usual mall concourse, hotel ballroom, counter launch venue that I’m used to attending, the event this time was held at a beautiful, luxury environment of Mont Kiara – The Food Studio at Amarin Kiara. That’s right. It is a center that offers a variety of culinary events and private cooking classes which means I’ll be cooking!

This is one event that focus more on giving us a good time and experience on a beautiful Saturday morning rather than injecting us with product A-Z so I will be writing more on the event itself this time round as I want to note this experience down for remembrance

Ms. Tanya said that Dove has continuously led innovations in the skin care industry and the introduction of NutriumMoisture™ technology continues that tradition. She also added that they are thrilled their extensive research and testing has allowed them to be the first brand to minimize lipid damage with a liquid cleanser in order to provide a long-term beauty benefits that strengthen and smooth skin.

In the special presentation on NutriumMoisture™ technology, the human skin and how we can achieve a more beautiful hydrated and smooth skin, Mr. John said that by absorbing into the skin Dove NutriumMoisture™ helps rebuild skin’s beauty from the inside of the epidermis layer to make it feel more beautiful on the outside. All of us are divided into three group – Appetiser, Main Course and Dessert. I am in dessert group thank goodness cause I sure do love dessert :D. My team will be making Pandan Pannacotta with Mangoes.

My task was pretty simply. To peel and dice the mangoes. I took care of two mangoes while Illy helped with the other one. The only thing that I was afraid of is the knife as Chef Paul reminded us that those knifes are very sharp. So I wasn’t talking while using the knife.

The PWP only applicable for purchase of RM20 and above. If the store permits me to buy more, I’d buy more but I was told maximum is only 3 items.
