Many moons ago (hehe), Dr.Jart+ Malaysia asked if I would like to try their new specialized sheet mask line. I already knew the review will be delayed due to work schedule at that time but when I was ready to ripped the packaging off to try, my camera broke down. Last week I was more work-free so I took the new Dermask out to try. I was sent two different sheet mask – Neck & Chin Lift and Vital Hydra Solution. Now, we all already know how a hydrating sheet mask works so this time I decided to review something different – the Dr.Jart+ Dermask Spot Neck & Chin Lift. Also because I am so intrigued and interested with anything lifting

The Neck & Chin Lift is a hydrogel patch type of facial mask. Understandably, you need the kind of mask that is not dripping with essence and also the type that adheres to your skin better to lift the skin. In a glance, this mask is a face lifting mask that gives you a smaller lower jawline. Interestingly, I find that this mask also claimed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. If you’re into ingredients and what not, here it is!

I was expecting a huge piece of mask but not with Dr.Jart+ Dermask Spot Neck & Chin Lift. The shape is “elegantly” designed, much to my surprise. Very lady like I would say. It does not comes in two separate pieces but instead the jaw and the neck are joint together.

The pros and con with a joint mask like this is the application. If you ripped the film off altogether like me, you will find that the hydrogel sticks onto each other or everywhere. I would suggest that you take the top portion film off first, apply and then only proceed with the bottom portion. Do it part by part to be safe.

Initially I hooked one end of the mask to my ear first. The ear loop hole is so small that hooking it does not come easy. When I’m done, I tried to hook the other end but later on find that the mask is too short to reach the other ear. I had to take off the first ear loop, aim the mask at my chin to get a balance fitting before hooking each of the ear loop on. Again, this does not come easy as the overall length width of the mask is so small and short. Before you start screaming at the top of your lung, bear in mind these mask are designed to be a tad bit smaller so that your face will be small and firm up easier

When I am done with the jaw portion of the mask *phew*, I moved on to sticking the hydrogel portion of the neck. When everything is on my face, moving around is limited. If I move my head too much, the neck piece will detach. So this mask actually forces you to stop moving around and even stop smiling.

The instruction on the back of the packaging said to leave the mask on for 30 minutes. I think I had it on for 40 minutes as I was working on my computer and forgot about the time. I was so relieved to be able to remove the mask from my face because at that time it has started to get a bit uncomfortable and tight. What I like about hydrogel mask is that I do not need any rinsing. So convenient.

As for the result, honestly I did not see any difference with the wrinkles on my neck. As for my face, I cannot tell at all by just looking in the mirror but the Before and After comparison photo showed me that it actually works a little bit.

I have tried other face lifting hydrogel mask before and this one is by far the most tightest and smallest. The Korean must have a very small face feature, eh? Is the result permanent? I would really want to say yes but no. The result does not last long. Depending on individual, the lifting may last one to two days perhaps? Mine lasted a day on me. If you want a long lasting lifting effect, you will need to use this constantly to re-lift the jawline again.

Rumour has it that everyone in Korea is getting a hand on this amazing instant whitening Dr-Jart+ V7 Toning Light cream. It’s not a surprise to me as Asians are very much into the whitening or brightening and so am I . As much as I like to bronze my face when I do my makeup, however I’m not willing to let go of having a fairer skin.

As I shared in my recent Beauty Tips: How To Lighten Acne Marks, you would have guessed that I absolutely like love this Dr-Jart+ V7 Toning Light. Everything about this product is sturdy. The jar is made from heavy duty glass and the cap is made from heavy duty plastic with brand name and product description embossed all over the top. The fact that everything is in a simple packaging and white makes my world better.

Not just the jar is heavy duty. Even the spatula included is thicker than normal and heavy duty. Okay I lied. Even the cream itself is heavy duty. No kidding. See the dollop on the spatula? No dripping.

Dr-Jart+ V7 Toning Light is a whitening cream that instantly tones and evens up skin tone, while eliminating all the yellow tone on the skin, bringing the skin back to a pinkish-beige glow state. I mentioned that this cream is heavy duty and it’s very true. I have never used anything like this before. I couldn’t understand the opaque white texture which resembles white paint at first but after using it for quite some time, I’m hooked. And because the texture is so heavy duty and ‘white’, I do not dare to use it on it’s own or in the day time under makeup at the beginning. The opaque white cast freak me out. You know how I can be quite adventurous with beauty products so I closed one eye and like Nike said, Just Do It. Now I can’t leave the house without applying this cream. It has this very soothing faint lemon-y scent to it. A little goes a long way and I’m not kidding with this cream. I used very very little amount of the cream, say a green bean size of product and that’s all it takes for the whole face and to not have a white cast all over. Although the texture is thick and the opacity is full-on white, it is not even a bit oily. It’s kinda strange. It actually smooths out to matte finishing. Once on the face, suddenly the face became smooth and flawless.

Hah. A very strange whitening cream indeed.

Dr. Jart+ is dead serious when they claimed that this V7 Toning Light Cream gives an instant complexion whitening. It does give an instant whitening due to the texture. Just to show you how the cream looks like, below is a photo of me with just half of the face applied with Dr. Jart+ V7 Toning Light.

It contain 7 Liposomized Vitamins that soothe sensitive skin, prevent pigmentation, and to brighten skin tone on the outside. Licorice Extract is added in to brighten from the inside and Jade Water for the moisturization. With long run usage, the cream improves the skin, avoid skin darkening and induces collagen generation.

The white cast goes away after a while. I like that it doesn’t make my skin oily. In fact my face stays quite matte for several hours. It also doesn’t turn sticky like every other face cream. That is because the cream is waterproof

I know I should be showing you how brighten my complexion are now but I believe you already saw that from this post last week. What I’m going to show you is the improvement on my other main concern – acne marks. I last shown you my ugly dark marks last week. On Saturday I took another photo as comparison to the week before and to my surprise I find the marks lighten even more! I have good luck with whitening cream so far but never as fast as what Dr. Jart+ V7 Toning Light has given me. How about that, eh?

Are you into all the whitening brightening? I’m obsessed with the routine as I find myself constantly fighting with acne marks. As we gets older, post-acne marks took longer to heal . In fact everything took longer to go back to it’s original state. That’s not all what V7 Toning Light cream do. It brightens up the whole face complexion. Thanks to this cream and proper hydrating product, I can now step out of the house with just a light dust of powder foundation, eyebrow and lipstick. I also find that my makeup goes on better with this cream on the underneath comparing to without. Somehow blending seems to be easier.

I’ve always said that having a well-hydrated skin is the key to having a good skin. I have said it many times here in the blog but yet I still make the first fundamental mistake. That, is to forget that acne marks took a long time to disappear due to dehydrated skin.

It wasn’t until 2 weeks ago when I paid a visit to Premier Clinic TTDI that I was reminded about how a well-hydrated skin will get rid of acne marks. I was like ‘God! How on earth did I forget about that?’. Indeed I have.

It all started around 2 months ago that I kept getting acne breakout on the lower right side of my face. I suspect it was because I only sleep on my right side. But I have been sleeping only on my right side for years. Why now? Then I suspect it was the towel I had on my pillow but then again, I wash it on alternate days. I assumed it was partly the sleeping posture, the towel, the stress, and the hormonal changes that contributed to the continuous breakout attack. It was stressful for me as the acne was huge and painful and the fact that the breakout did not have a chance to heal and the next thing I know, another acne breakout came again and again. My skin condition 2 weeks ago was at the dullest and I have deep red and black-ish huge acne marks on my right face. I went to Premier Clinic for a treatment (which I’ll tell you about it this week) and the beauty consultant ask me if I know how to deal with it. She said it will take at least a few months to disappear, which I agree and I said I usually apply lots of whitening cream diligently day and night to help lighten the marks. She then said something so brilliant that no one ever said it to me before. She said ‘do you know that the skin on top of the acne marks are dry that is why they are dark in colour so all you need to do is to apply hydrating mask everyday’. That was honestly the most simple and straight forward solution to my problem, that I wished I had told myself . I took her advise and I’m happy to share with you what I did and how it had helped my skin in such a big way.

I still go through the whole day skincare routine and night skincare routine BUT I emphasised on two main products targeting to different skin needs. (1) A whitening cream and (2) a hydration mask. These are the two products that played a main role and it’s a must to apply nightly.

Whitening Cream

I’m currently trialling the new Dr. Jart+ V7 Toning Light Cream. This is a powerful, rich and yet matte whitening cream. It’s texture is quite unique and new to me. I actually love it a lot. An in-depth review will be up hopefully by this week as well.

Whitening cream play an important role in lightening acne marks, however it is not the primary product. I’m using it to help lighten the stubborn marks faster. It usually works on it’s own and it works even better under hydrating mask. The brand to use is not important. As long as it’s a whitening cream that works for you then it’s fine. Make sure it is not the type that makes your skin dry because a dry skin is the last thing we want.

Hydration Mask

The beauty consultant told me to apply hydration mask daily and I didn’t have any at home that would sufficient for daily use. Thank goodness I have a big jar of Laneige Water Sleeping Mask at home and I happily apply the mask on top of all the skincare products before I go to bed. This mask is meant for the use of 2 to 3 times a week so I was a little bit paranoid in using it daily. But I went ahead with it anyway. So far, after using it daily for 2 weeks straight, I’m glad to report my skin did not react badly to it. In fact, I benefited quite a bit in the most unexpected way.

I didn’t really notice any changes with my skin and complexion as I was too focused on the acne marks. On day to day basis I notice the acne marks changes from deep red to pink and from black to brown then to light brown. It was only a few days ago that I notice how smooth my under eyes was under makeup and I suspect it was from the sleeping mask, which I think I accidentally over applied to my under eye. So for the past few days I applied a thin layer of Laneige Water Sleeping Mask on my under eye on purpose and I notice how plump and smooth my under eyes has been

Because of the under eye incident, I start to take notice of my face and complexion. My face is noticeably brighter, plumper, smoother, clearer and of course, well-hydrated from the daily use of hydration mask. Maybe not clearer complexion to you but to me, this is the clearest complexion I have had so far. I started this special care routine to take care of my acne marks but I gained 2 extra benefits from it.

Now the acne marks. I tried this method not knowing it will work so I did not take any ‘before’ photo . I should have taken it as you will be shocked with the difference it makes. What you are seeing below is an ‘after’ photo of using hydration mask daily for 2 weeks straight. Imagine the below at 6X worse, darker and redder. The larger marks used to be black-ish and larger, the smaller ones used to be deep red. Some smaller/medium marks that are brown has more or less disappeared . Before this I spent a good 15 minutes trying to cover up with concealer. Now I can just apply a layer of powder on the weekend and go out the door

There you have it. Definitely not a rocket science and I know I sounded like an excited kid with this beauty tips but sometimes we tend to forget the simplest anatomy and that is hydration. I certainly did not expect hydration could be such a big help in lighten acne marks as all these while I depend heavily on whitening products. Even though so, I still believe whitening cream helps to speed up the process thus the combination of whitening cream with hydration mask.

On the day I drove to Penang, I received an email from Dr. Jart+ informing me that there is a new product in the market and if I would like to try it out. But, I thought Dermaclear Micro Water was launched not long after my first encounter with the product back in August 2014? A few days after I came back to KL, I realized I had forgotten to reply the email and I’ve exceeded the product collection date lol. I’m glad I’m still able to get a bottle to try out because this might just be the product that changed my whole perception and acceptance on the whole cleansing water craze.

Getting back to as why Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water was only brought in now and not last year. Well, Dr. Jart+ told me that the time I had my first hand on the product (August 2014) was just a preview on new product line-up. It is only April 2015 that Dr. Jart+ brought the product into Malaysia and sell it officially

Dr. Jart+ is a Korean skincare brand and Korean beauty has always been playing a major role in the beauty scene. It is now going to a different level by levelling new cleansing concept. Cleansing Water has always been a worldwide thing and the Koreans are catching up with the trend. Dermaclear Micro Water even won the Blind Test by No.1 the most popular beauty TV show in Korea, Get it Beauty

If you think “oh, this is just another cleansing water”, well think again. Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water is a ‘Micro’ Cleansing Water. What this means is, micro water is finer molecule that water and provides Nano molecule cleansing. With this, the product is able to clean away even the smallest residue from the face, tone the skin like no other cleanser does, brightens and moisturizes the skin like no other cleansing water do.

When I first got it, I thought like every person would think – this is going to be like a normal cleansing water. Boy was I so wrong. When I pour the product onto the cotton pad, I thought I was pouring water. I don’t know if it’s my imagination but I feel that the water is more finer aka watery than other cleansing water. The smell is amazing. One of the downside of cleansing water that I hate is the scentless scent that smells like chemical. This one? Doesn’t have any of that. It does has a slight hint of floral scent to it that I like very much.

This time round I decided to test it out against my eye makeup. As you are aware, I’m an avid believer in removing eye makeup separately using a proper eye makeup remover product. I was really curious with the performance of this product and I had makeup on that day. Talking about perfect timing . I saturate the cotton pad like how I would with eye makeup remover – pour bit by bit forming a straight line, place it on my eye, wiggle a bit and gently pull away. All the powder product came off and half of the eyeliner and mascara was gone too. I repeated the process with the other end of the cotton pad and everything came off in no time. It doesn’t sting even a bit and it doesn’t cause any redness to the eye. However, I do notice that if I saturate the cotton pad with too much product, the water gets into my eye and it irritates quite a bit. So the key is to go moderate and not oversoaking the cotton pad

People say woman can look scary once they had their makeup removed. I think I did pretty good with the Before and After. I don’t really put on thick makeup so even when I’m bare face, there is not much different. Or maybe it’s this Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water that helped to brighten and moisturized my skin.

I didn’t have any issue with removing all the base makeup from my face and lipstick from my lips. It feels absolutely comfortable on the skin without any tackiness thereafter. Some cleansing water still do leave a film on the skin or cause the skin oily thereafter and I’m very glad to say I didn’t encounter any of that annoying bit with Dermaclear Micro Water. Instead I get on with my chore and had totally forgotten to double cleanse. This is an all-round product that Cleanses, Tones and Moisturizes at the same time so no rinsing or double cleansing required. It is Non-Comedogenic so it suits all skin type, even for sensitive skin.

I usually prefer to use big cotton pad with cleansing water for the face but I ran out so I used a total of four cotton pads for the face and two for the eyes . You might use lesser cotton pad but I like to be sure so I like to go over the whole face with a new cotton pad.

For someone that are not into cleansing water, I amazed myself lately by eagerly reaching for the bottle of Dermaclear Micro Water to remove my makeup. The soothing scent helped to calm me down and get the job done slowly and properly. I like that it doesn’t sting my eyes and removed ALL my waterproof eye makeup in a jiffy. However, I took the risk and tried to remove one of the toughest waterproof mascara, which is also my all-time favourite – the Estée Lauder Zero-Smudge Lengthening Mascara. As expected, it doesn’t quite remove the mascara and I lost tons of eyelashes in the process. That’s totally understandable because that mascara is the toughest to be removed. I’ve tried on Benefit Roller Lash and there’s no problem in removing. I also adore the product for being totally non-sticky and refreshing on the face. My acceptance towards cleansing water took a 360-degree change after trying this Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water
