Hada Labo Hydrating Oil-in Lotion
I have come to a realization that oil suspending in water type of skincare is somehow not doing my skin good.
I don’t know what is it that I am currently having massive breakouts from a similar product, which also has oil suspending in a serum. At the same time, I was also using this Hada Labo Hydrating Oil-in Lotion. Let me tell you something – this lotion has got to be the most exciting product that I’ve gotten from the mail because I saw this at the drugstore earlier and I was super interested with it. I like beauty oil and especially now that my skin is more mature and more dehydrated that anything that has oil in it will automatically be in my favourite list.

Hada Labo are always known as the Japanese brand that has hydrating lotion that is more thicker in texture like an essence. So when the new Hada Labo released Hydrating Oil-in Lotion that has watery consistency, boy oh boy I am shocked! In fact, the Hada Labo Hydrating Oil-in Lotion is THE FIRST oil-in lotion product. What does the oil-in lotion mean? It is a “toner” that combines water and oil. The idea is to allow oil to adhere on the skin to retain moisture better, while the water penetrates deep into the skin with more hydrated. This is a product that you have to ditch you facial cotton as it is a product that need to be applied using both palms.

I’m not going to show you the water texture like how I did with other skincare review because it looked just like water. So what’s the point right? 😛 . Having said that, it may look like a normal water but it uses nano encapsulated and dispersion technology so that the product feels like water AND nourishes like beauty oil do. It has plant-derived squalene oil (not from whale ya) in the lotion so that it penetrates into the skin through nano-dispersion technology so that the oil is solubilized in water for a transparent, ultra-light, pleasant and comfortable feeling. You know what’s good about this oil-in lotion idea? Oil and water balance!!

Hada Labo Hydrating Oil-In Lotion is available exclusively at Watsons stores nationwide.

Price: RM69.90 / 220ml

Hada Labo AHA+BHA Face Wash
Oh wow. I’ve been sitting on this draft for hours and yet I have not type anything down lol 😛

So, Hada Labo brought out two new AHA + BHA face wash and I got it a few months back. I have been desperately trying to used up my every other face wash so that I can open one of the Hada Labo AHA + BHA Face Wash to try. To be honest I have not tried their AHA + BHA cleanser before so you can understand why I’m so intrigued, especially when I have been receiving DMs on the Instagram on the difference between these two.

The Hada Labo AHA + BHA Face Wash comes in two variants – AHA + BHA Acne Control Face Wash and AHA + BHA Oil Control Face Wash. First thing first, both of the variants are formulated with the same Triple Anti-Pollution Formula to purify and protect the skin from environmental pollution. This is done by reducing the particles ability to adhere to the skin and also to form a protective barrier on the skin to shield against pollution damages. Then these face wash are formulated with Double Action Exfoliating Formula, whereas AHA (Glycolic Acid) and BHA (Salicylic Acid) in the formulation helped to soften skin, remove dead skin cells and restore its natural radiance overall.

AHA + BHA Oil Control Face Wash (RM31.90 / 130g)

Hada Labo AHA+BHA Oil Control Face Wash
As I don’t have acne skin, I decided to try the Oil Control version first instead. This one particularly was formulated with Oil Control Formula which has Alpine Plant Extract to help in controlling and balancing oil production on the skin. In a long run, it is supposed to help minimise large pores appearance as well. A little of the product goes a long way. It lathers so well and cleans the face thoroughly, stripping all the dirt and oil from the face. It doesn’t have any scent to it but the scent does reminds me of the previous Hada Labo Face Wash, only not as strong.

I have this cleanser in the house’s main bathroom so that mom could use it too and she love it. Last weekend I took it away to take a photo and she went searching high and low for it lol. Even though this is meant for oil control and mom doesn’t have oily skin, she said her skin doesn’t feels tight or dry after using.

AHA + BHA Acne Control Face Wash (RM31.90 / 130g)

Hada Labo AHA+BHA Acne Control Face Wash
The Acne Control on the other hand is infused with Wild Pansy Extract to combat pimples. Personally I have not used it yet nor do I have breakout to really tell you if that work on pimples. As I know many of you would be emailing me to ask that 😛

Okay now. Let’s talk about the cleanser texture. You must be warn that it is a runnier cleanser and the product tend to flows out of the nozzle even without you squeezing the tube. And it gets a bit messy at the nozzle tip. If you’re OCD freak like me you will freak out lol. My advise is, just tilt the tube facing down and let gravity do it’s work.

Hada Labo AHA+BHA Face Wash Nozzle
This is NOT the amount to use but just a small pea size. I am squeezing more out for you to see the cleanser. It is creamy and it tends to foams up a lot. A little goes a long way. This time I am serious!

Both variants come with a texture similar to the Bentonite Clay, which is a type of mineral clay from natural volcanic ash. This is added due to the substance’s high mineral content which would be beneficial as oil absorbent.

Hada Labo Lifting & Firming Essence
Nothing excites me more than seeing new anti-aging skincare range in the market. Although my skin type took a sharp turn from combination oily to dehydrated, I still see shine on the face because of the skin dehydration that causes sebum to keep the skin hydrated. People say, your skin will become dry as you grew older. That is so true and exactly what happened to me. And so I have put anti-aging skincare as my top priority, followed by hydrating skincare. Prevention is always better than cure. Remember that 🙂

What if you can get the best of both world – anti-aging + hyration? With Hada Labo’s new and improved Lifting & Firming range you can! I received the whole entire set of six Lifting & Firming products consisting of Lotion (Rich), Milk, Cream, Wrinkle Care Cream, Mask and Essence. I have finished the whole box of face mask and at the same time I took out the Hada Labo Lifting & Firming Essence to use first as I like to sandwich and layer my skincare.

Now, what’s new? The new and improved Lifting & Firming range now has two key ingredients – Hydrolyzed Elastin and Hydrolyzed Collage to help with skin strength, firmness and shape at cell level. The entire range is also infused with Elasgrow and Fermented Soymilk to help the skin to boost collagen and elastin production. Needless to say, those exclusive ingredients are to help your skin to defeat all the sagging issue, which is one of the main concern of aging 🙂 .

Hada Labo Lifting & Firming Essence Pipette
I always find serum or essence the easiest to use and try first hand as I go all out and layer maximum 3 types of serum each routine. This essence is rather more thicker in terms of texture and consistency but being an anti-aging skincare, I am not surprised. As usual when it comes to Hada Labo, you would expect all the Hyaluronic Acid goodness. In this range itself you may find 4 types of Hyaluronic Acid that works by sinking deep into the skin, hydrating the skin from surface to skin deep.

The essence does looked gooey and thick but spreads like a water. It is so smooth, so comfortable on the skin and easy to spread all over the face without much effort. That said, you don’t need a lot. I usually used a whole pipette full and pat on the skin for it to sink in. It does takes quite a while for it to sink in because of the amount of skincare I layered on each routine and since I am used to it, I don’t mind at all!

Hada Labo Lifting & Firming Essence has naturally derived Pomegranate Extract and Lycopene, which boasts 100 times more antioxidant power than Vitamin E. And this helps to tackle signs of aging and pollution. However, I does not smell anything Pomegrante, sorry to disappoint you. Just as all Hada Labo products, this essence is scentless 🙂 . It has Soybean Extract, which you can’t smell too but it is added in to improve skin elasticity and for collagen/elastin boosting.

Hada Labo Lifting & Firming Essence Texture
All that sounds good and all but do I see significant results? I like to tell you how much youthful or firm my skin has become but I can’t because I did not notice any difference. Not because this is a bad product but because I am using so much skincare that I can’t notice the difference lol. My bad. However I do find myself using lesser amount of this essence because I realized I don’t need a lot. It is afterall formulated with High Performance Penetrating & Deep Moisturizing (HPP&M) Technology, which means this essence has a high and active delivery system to send moisture deep into the skin in order to hydrate the skin deeply from top of bottom.

Another product from the Lifting & Firming range that I AM MOST EXCITED about is the Wrinkle Care Cream, which is designed to treat all the contour lines on the face such as smile lines, forehead wrinkles and so on. I have yet to take it out to use and I have been dying to do so. Will tell you what I think about the cream the soonest I can! 😉

Hada Labo Lifting & Firming Range is available at all major pharmacies nationwide.

Price:
+ Lifting & Firming Lotion – RM67.50
+ Lifting & Firming Milk – RM70.90
+ Lifting & Firming Cream – RM78

+ Lifting & Firming Mask – RM52.90

How To Remove Cream Mask Effectively 1
I love cream masks. More than sheet mask, yes. If I can put on a mask for the day, I would go for cream mask anytime. Some think cream mask is troublesome and sloppy but I think the otherwise. I think sheet mask is sloppy lol. You get both your hands wet and sticky pulling the sheet mask out of the packaging, you get sticky essence dripping down your arm and neck *eeewww*. It is just too much. I think the reason why many people turned to sheet mask rather than cream mask is because they can just peel the sheet mask off and leave the remaining essence on, while for cream mask you need to wash them off. It does not make any difference to me as I would still wash my face regardless which type of mask I use. I just don’t like sticky face. Personal preference 😉

Let’s talk about cream mask and how to remove cream mask effectively. The thing about cream mask that make everyone cringes is the need to wash them off and that it takes hella long to wash them off. Yeap! This one I have to admit is kinda annoying – having to stand at the sink splashing your face with water again and again. Some people I know do what the Western do; they use a face cloth. I have tried this method and I don’t like it. Sorry. Personal preference again. Since my skin has changed from oily to dehydrated/dry now, I remove most of my cream mask using facial toner. Yes you heard me right. Toner. Not micellar cleansing water but a toner.

How To Remove Cream Mask Effectively 2
Removing cream mask these days has been so much easier and effective thanks to Hada Labo Kiwamizu Lotion. Its highly hydrating watery consistency is able to restore moisture to my skin without the sticky residue. It removes cream mask so easily with just one or maximum two cotton square. What I really like about using the Kiwamizu Lotion is that it comes in a mist bottle. All I have to do is to mist like crazy onto my face, literally flooding the entire face with the lotion. The wetter the better!

How To Remove Cream Mask Effectively 3
Then take a cotton square and wipe all of the cream mask off. You know I like to apply my skincare thick so this method and product pretty much take everything off in a jiffy. If you do not have a misting toner like this one, just use a normal toner.

Why toner? Toner brings back the moisture to the face while removing the mask. They are typically more hydrating so I find toner fits the job. Micellar cleansing water as they name said it all is a cleansing product. I do not feel comfortable leaving cleansing product on the face no matter how convincing the brand is with their “no rinsing required” claim. I still feel you need to wash off cleansing water from your face no matter what. It is a cleansing product! Toner is different. It is a skincare. The Kiwamizu Lotion especially soothes my skin so much better and sometimes I do not even feel like rinsing off the residue after that. But I still do. I just don’t need to rush to the sink or waste more water 😀

How To Remove Cream Mask Effectively 4

Now tell me, which type of mask if you favourite? Sheet mask or cream mask? And if you are too into cream mask, how do you remove them? Any trick besides the normal rinsing?

Hope you enjoyed this little tip on removing cream mask the easiest and most effective way 😀
