Spotlight. Ahhh Spotlight. The last you heard about Spotlight from me was one year ago. For those who are new to this blog, Spotlight is a well-known largest fabric, craft and home interiors super store from Australia. They are now the largest in AustralAsia. Last week I went to Spotlight “Make It Merry” workshop and had loads of fun! A lot of you were shocked that I was at a Christmas décor event as it is now only the month of August. Still another quarter to go for Christmas lol.
Make It Merry workshop is for us to learn that DIY personalized gifts are not as challenging as we thought it is. As Christmas has always been known to be a time for sharing and giving, there isn’t any better way to spread the love than to create something from our own heart.
Spotlight’s very own Creative Content Manager, Nick Casey was flown in together with Communications Manager Eva Daly to be with us at the workshop. This workshop is meant to be interactive for us as we tend to prefer to pay money for a gift without realizing that Christmas gifts can be easily made using simple techniques and affordable items. This one I have to agree with Nick. Through this interactive workshop last week, besides learning how easy it is to curate personalized gifts, it is also fun too!
Spotlight Christmas 2016 line-ups offers six unique on-trend decorator colour palates for craft and home ranges.
Now let’s take a look at the table “spread” of our Make It Merry workshop.
I whipped out four simple craft work at one breath (okay maybe six breaths) as I finished one and still got lots of time left. It was quite the fun despite lacking in the creative department lol
Gifting should come from the heart. Price tag is not a measurement when it comes to gifting . Learn more about Spotlight and its range of products at their Website or their Facebook page.
Merry Christmas! (in advance)

Let’s go easy with the beauty and talk about some other happy place today. Floristika. Yes, it’s a happy place.
Growing up, I never like receiving flowers. I thought it is a waste of money. I never like having flowers sent to my office, having jealous pairs of eyes staring at me, having strangers looking over as I brought the bouquet of flowers to my car or when taking the LRT (I took LRT to work last time). Nope. Hate that. Don’t like it at all. But…I do like to buy flowers for myself to have it in my room and the living space. I have a God-sister who is a florist during my secondary school so I would buy a stalk of white rose everyday. I remember growing up wanting to have a floral arrangement business just like hers because I get so happy being surrounded with fresh flowers.
Now that I no longer wanted to be a florist and PR companies as well as brands has been sending flowers over once in a while, I quite like it as it’s not overly huge bouquet. You can say I am a minimalist. Sometimes, just sometimes…I would pay a visit to Floristika, a well-known florisht and flower wholesale center at Bangsar.
Before I start, let me warn you in advance that I have these photos taken in November 2014. I have always wanted to talk about this place but kinda forgotten until today haha. So bear in mind prices and so on might be different now
This post will mainly be on photos, not so much of me talking away. What I can say is, Level 1 is a very cold place as all the fresh flowers are in this level.
Floristika is a wholesale place so do expect the flowers to be in a huge bouquet. Some are reasonable priced, while some in my opinion are too expensive. You make you own judgement on it. I just don’t spend so much on flowers
There are some ready bouquet, which are so beautiful (and expensive).
For example this rare purple rose! I died-ed.
Everyone’s favourite – Hydrangea!
I remember baby’s breath is cheap but at Floristika, it can cost up to RM32!
Don’t know if any of you remember that I was very much into glass container last year and I still am. Part of the reason of visiting Floristika is also because I heard I can get apothecary jars there. I found it alright but did not end up getting any as I do not know what to do with them LOL. These would look so pretty with colourful candies inside.

]]>No, it’s not Sunday yet but I had to post this up ASAP.
Shorty after opening their 2nd store at IPC Shopping Centre a month ago, Spotlight is set to open its largest store exactly TODAY 11th April 2015.
Having a great start at their 1st store at Ampang Point, Spotlight is showing no signs of slowing down especially after the successful launch of their flagship store in IPC. This new store at The Mines Shopping Mall is going to be Spotlight’s largest store.
This picture doesn’t justify what I’m going to say. To date, Spotlight The Mines is the biggest Spotlight store as of today, occupying 31,000 sq ft retail space at Level 4 of the mall. Even with the two other stores at Ampang Point and IPC, shoppers are already spoilt for choice with over 100,000 vast selections of delights in six categories namely Home Furnishings, Manchester (bedding), Home Decor, Dress and Fashion Fabrics, Craft, Hobby and Party Essentials. So can you imagine stepping into this 31,000 sq ft store? Umm hmm. You’ll even be more spoilt. Trust me. I know because I was ‘lost’
What Spotlight has to offer is basically everything and every need. It is a store for people who are passionate about home furnishings, handicrafts and fabrics. Planning a party has never been this easy. There is a large section in the store dedicated to any party planners. One would not need to make a few pit stop searching for a single item because you can find all you need under one roof. Same goes to new home owner and home-bound hobbies pursuer!
My morning at the event yesterday was kick-started with a welcome address by Eva Daly, Communications Manager of the Spotlight Retail Group (3rd from right) followed by a store tour by Jacqui (center). Jacqui is not a stranger here at Street Love because I posted up a few InstaVideo yesterday following the store tour
I found out yesterday that Spotlight VIP members are in for a whole lots of bargain galore and special discount on selected store favourites in conjunction with the grand opening. How to be a Spotlight VIP card member you asked? Simple. You can sign up FOR FREE during your store visit or you can sign up online at https://www.spotlightstores.com/my/login
During the official opening on 11th April, shoppers will be treated with magic, funny clown gags and face painting for the kids. You will also get to try your luck at the lucky spin.
As a tradition here at Street Love, a virtual store tour is a must for me to do for you. Enjoy! More opening specials at the end of the tour
Something weird happened while I was walking around the store. For some reason, I find this entertainers set…exciting! Maybe because I’m OCD with neat placement so automatically I find this set interesting. And cheap too.
I’m not sure if you have ever watch Cake Boss before on Astro TLC but I was obsessed with the show. Spotlight carries a wide array of Cake Boss merchandize at the store too
Well, hello…hello! Remember these from my Instagram?
