We’ve come to the 2nd instalment of favourites of the month didn’t we? . Just as I’ve explained in the previous August 2014 Favourites, all the items listed here has yet to made its way to the blog. I might or might not do an individual review after this. Some product yes, some don’t need to!

In this September 2014 Favourites, I have a good mix of beauty, beauty tools and also decor. I’m kinda into decorating mood at the moment. No surprise here since you’ve seen the amount of trips and time spent at home essential stores lately from my Instagram.

I thought of doing 10 favourites product every month but for this month’s favourites I am keeping it short as I’m having migraine for the past few days. When the migraine hit, all I want to do is to just sleep and whine. Nonetheless I’m going to present eight of my favourites to you. So let’s start with the beauty, shall we?

Favourite Beauty Products

Revlon Parfumerie™ Scented Nail Enamel
When I found out that Alliance Cosmetics is having its yearly warehouse sales, I planned to just get two nail polishes. Somehow I ended up with five. I couldn’t stop because the colors is very attractive and it’s only RM10 per bottle. I was told in advance that these nail polishes are very watery and a few coats is needed to get an opaque finishing. So far I’ve only tried Apricot Nectar (orange), Surf Spray (blue) and Wintermint (green). I love Apricot Nectar and Wintermint but Surf Spray is so ridiculously watery. Wintermint on the other hand is a gorgeous mint green with shimmer bits in it BUT the bottle that I had was a used one. Sigh. The very main reason why I put this as my favourite is that the brush is super duper small and it fits nicely on my uber small toe nails. What’s not to love!

Maybelline Pure.Concealer Mineral Healthy Natural Concealer #01
I’ve been wanting this concealer for the longest time but I refuse to pay retail price of RM19.90 when I know OnlyBeauty will do a warehouse sales once in a few months. I’ve been to two sales but none of them carry this concealer, until the recent sales held at IOI Boulevard Puchong. I went straight to Maybelline section and search for the concealer. There was three left and luck was on my side when one of the three is the shade 01, which is exactly what I wanted. I’ve been using this concealer only since then for the under eye and on acne marks. It’s one of the best concealer I’ve ever tried. Covers well and only settles into the fine lines on my under eye just a tiny bit. I’m already 1/4 down the tube so far

Covo Fearless Waterproof Auto Brow Pencil #Cocoa Brown
As you know, I stock up brow pencil as I go through these pencils like no tomorrow. I’m also quite into doing my brows lately so I’m in the midst of sweeping all sorts of brow related products lol. It’s absolutely madness. Covo has been doing various 5-days promo lately and the most recent one is two of their eyebrow pencil for RM15. I opted for this Fearless Waterproof Auto Brow Pencil as it’s so much convenient and easy to use. To my surprise, these pencil is so slim that it makes it the perfect pencil to use to do small strokes mimicking brow hair and to create a fine tail at the end. There is only two shades to choose from. I bought all four that the counter had and one of it is for my friend. I should have gone to other branch for more.

ZA Perfect Solution Youth Whitening Serum
I’ve been slacking a little bit with skin care lately and this serum is exactly what I need. I love it for the fact that it’s a 2-in-1 serum, combining whitening with anti-aging at one go. I couldn’t find anything like this before last time and boy was I happy to see one being launched here. In fact this serum is just launched in September 2014. I also find that this serum is not sticky at all even if I use two full pumps. One of the best texture serum I’ve tried so far.

Favourite Beauty Tools

Daiso Clear Pierced Earrings
I got this from Daiso almost a year ago and it has been hidden in my drawer until I took it out recently. I always need to poke my earring holes whenever I needed to put on something fancy when I’m out. So to prevent that, I put this on. This is just like the stick thingamajig that kids or even you put on during the younger days. I never had those because I had my earrings on since I was 8 years old. The one I have comes in heart shape and there’s a stopper on the back as well, just like real earrings.

Hello Kitty 40th Anniversary Tweezer & Scissors
I bought a Hello Kitty X Guardian 40th Anniversary Manicure Set for RM14.90 last month and my favourite has got to be the tweezer, scissors and the nail clipper. How often do you see Hello Kitty prints on these tools right? Tell you something funny. I was happily plucking my brow hair with the Hello Kitty tweezer when my mum asked “will you get prettier using Hello Kitty tweezer to do your brow?”. I blank out for a while trying to figure out what to answer. In the end I replied yes, much prettier than using normal tweezer

Favourite Decor

Ikea Photo Frame
This stone phone frame is antique I tell ya. I got this nearly 10 years ago from my friend for my birthday but I have no idea what it was and what to do with it back then so it was under my bed for the past 10 years LOL. I wanted to throw it away recently when I reshuffled my room’s furniture but it still look so new eventhough it was covered in dust for the past 10 years (I clean it once in a while) so I took out some polaroid photos I have and voila! These people in the photos meant a lot to me. One is from Talika Photo-Beauty Therapy media event and one is from Street Love X StriVectin A Purplish Affair event.

Backlight LED Table Mirror
Last but not least, a mirror that have gotten majority of you to purchase after I posted on Instagram and Facebook. It is the backlight LED table mirror that I bought from Groupon for RM55. I had in mind what mirror I want for my vanity table and I googled for it. Through googling, I found this mirror on sale in Groupon so I made a purchase right away. It was scheduled to arrive in 10 days but I gotten mine within four days. Talking about efficiency eh? I did hesitated a bit before purchasing as the mirror size is only 11cm. However there’s no other place selling this type of LED mirror so I bought it. It wasn’t as bright as I thought it would be but good enough for close-up. No regret. It’s beautifully done and looks better than the Ikea one

I think I have more but I’m going to save it for October because I’m going to use them throughout October so it makes more sense to talk about it next month. I was tempted to get another HELMER Drawer Unit a few days ago as my current one is already filled up. All six compartment. I need space to store all the makeup that I’ve done trying and review. But what should I get since my room is getting more congested. The new drawer must be able to fit in between my working area and vanity table. Such a dilemma.

A day before I plan to go shopping I decided to reorganize the current HELMER Drawer Unit. I want to at least find out if there’s any possibility that I can get more space without spending money and sacrificing space for another new unit. Let’s just say I made the right decision to reorganize the drawer.

Let’s take a look at what I did shall we?

What I like about HELMER Drawer Unit is the fact that it’s made from metal (love metal), it comes in red but if you’re not into red there’s also white, it has a whopping six drawers and it only cost RM139. It also comes with four wheels, a labeling slot and it’s pretty well made. Can I repeat again that it comes with SIX drawers?

Drawer #1 – Base Makeup
In drawer #1 I put all my base makeup products like makeup base & primers, liquid foundation, powder, BB cream and CC cream. To make things easier and convenient for me I put all my sunblock in this drawer as well. At the hidden back slot I put my favorite Guerlain by Emilio Pucci Meteorites Perles. Next to that slot is where I put my miniature base makeup “stock”. If anything ran out I’ll just grab one from there!

Drawer #2 – Point Makeup
This drawer is all about point makeup for example eyeshadow palettes, mascaras, eyeliners, eyebrow pencils, eye primers and of course eye makeup tools like eyelash curler. Still in the category of point makeup…I also store all my lip makeup stuff here. At the back hidden slot is where I put my currently using blushers there. The slot next to it is actually empty so I decided to put the huge Estee Lauder loose powder case in there just to fill the space :).

I went to Ikea on the same day with the intention to purchase more ANTONIUS Basket Insert but apparently it has been discontinued :(. Thank goodness I had a few which I’m currently using in another cabinet so I took one out, clean it and put it in drawer #2. I do hope Ikea Malaysia bring this back. I need a few moreeeeee

Drawer #3
Is currently empty, waiting to be fill up haha. Since it’s empty and my beloved RMK Cotton Pad is stuck in a corner on my vanity table, I simply just place it in the empty space. Which reminds me that I have another unopened box elsewhere.

I’ve also recently taken out the Kanebo Blanchir Superior Cotton Pad which I’ve gotten from Kanebo + Vanity Trove Pink Carpet Event to use. So these two boxes will be in drawer #3 temporary.

Drawer #4
Is also empty waiting to be fill up :). My camera couldn’t take the striking red lol.

Drawer #5
This drawer is more to bits and pieces of everything. On the front is where I put trial size of skin care. I put it here instead of the cabinet where I store all my skin care “stock” so that I’ll remember to use it. I have lots of trial size cleanser that used to be in the same space but I’ve transfered them to the skin care stock cabinet. The huge space behind that is just nice for me to put some of my miniature perfume. I have full size and trial size perfume everywhere! This is just a small portion of it

Currently I’m using a few nail polishes from China Glaze, a bit of OPI and Seche as well. All of them fit in the middle just nice. I still have lots of unopened nail polish at my so-called makeup “stock” cabinet. Far at the back is where I put random stuff.

Drawer #6
This drawer used to be very junk. After I throw away all the rubbish I can still fit other things inside and here’s the new look.

I kept my umecare Careroll Derma Roller and umecare UmeSkin Analyzer in this drawer. Below umeSkin Analyzer is where I put some skin care brochure which I kept for reference. I also put my PARK Avenue earrings here in a box. The two boxes at the back is where I store all clean, empty jars of various sizes. These jar is very useful at times so I stop throwing them away.

I’m pretty happy with the new arrangement. Never knew I throw so much junk in these drawers. Maybe because it’s just next to my working table so it’s easier for me to keep everything there. I know you’re wondering where is all the skin care that I’m currently using. I stop keeping my skin care in the drawer and put everything on the vanity table. With the reorganizing I managed to have 2 drawers for makeup and the best part is I still have another 2 empty drawers for more products!

If you are looking for a drawer unit to keep all your makeup stash I’d recommend getting this HELMER Drawer Unit. You might be thinking it’s too huge but collection do get bigger and bigger so might as well get a bigger one at the beginning right? It’s better than worrying about space in the future

I’ve been wanting to buy LENNART drawer unit for months. Everytime I’m at Ikea I constrain myself from getting it. I finally gave in last week lol. I need this to store all the stuff I bought from all the sales recently.

I only assemble this drawer unit 2 days ago. Here’s a peek at what I store inside. Nothing is firm yet. Just a preliminary arrangement. This whole unit is going to store my brand new makeups.

Let’s start at the bottom drawer.

Here I used up all the space to store my L’Occitane gift sets.

At the front I stuck in 4 pieces of Lip Smacker lip balm just because they look nice hehe.

My most favorite drawer is the middle drawer.

This is where all the new makeups are at. At one glance I can see what I have so I won’t be buying the same thing again and again.

Far hidden inside is a box of Dove shampoo and conditioner trial set and also a box of Lip Smacker.

Below Lancome Virtuose Drama mascara is where I put all the new refill for Kanebo Eyebrow pencil.

Below Estee Lauder palette is also another Estee Lauder palette

I used a Estee Lauder eye cream box to store all the minis. Perfect as it’s not too small or too big. This way they can stand properly without falling everywhere.

Okay. The MAC pigment globe is too huge. Gonna remove it when the collection turns bigger.

After this picture is taken, I actually added in my new 7 bottles of China Glaze nail polish

There’s nothing to put at the toppest drawer so I just temporary put my Estee Lauder Pleasure perfume set, Avene Thermal Spring Water 150ml and Estee Lauder mascara set. Will reorganize what’s in here to second drawer soon.

How do you like my new storage? ZOMG. I have too many makeups! Gulp.

This morning while patting the usual skin care to my face, I notice how my skin care bottles is now dominating my work desk as the skin care area is too congested. I then realised I need an Ikea drawer unit. Imagine my work desk which is meant for my lil printer, notebook, stationary stand and 3-tier tray is also occupying my skin care and body care. Immediately I went out to the living room and had a chat with mum and she too agreed that I should get a drawer for my beauty stuff but she wanted me to get something bigger.

This is what I wanted to get. HELMER drawer unit. 6 drawers with slot for label. What I like about this is that it’s made from metal and it’s red!
