It was last year that I was watching either Lisa Eldridge’s video or Fleur De Force video on the Lancôme’s Grandiôse Liner and I was all fascinated and hyped up about it because it sounded like one hella good eyeliner concept with the bendable handle. As you know, almost 80% of the women population are struggling with drawing a winged eyeliner on, especially Asians. Asians typically has hooded eyelid and it is really a struggle to draw the flick at the end. I have been through so many methods, tips and tricks on drawing a winged eyeliner that something like the Lancôme’s Grandiôse Liner which has a bendable handle seems to be the answer to my prayers. Is it really?

Now, what is so different with the Lancôme’s Grandiôse Liner? First of all the most obvious and the main marketing point of this eyeliner is its ability to bend the handle to a 35-degree angle. Then, to further answer most women’s prayers, Lancôme also made this eyeliner to be intensively matte, dries down fast and opaque.

The Grandiôse Liner do look like a normal eyeliner at its original state. It has a pivot at the neck of the handle allowing the handle to bend at a 35-degree angle. If you think the handle is able to bend 360-degree all around, then you are wrong. It goes to either the left or right. It doesn’t turn round and round like many perceived it to be. You can apply your eyeliner holding the eyeliner holder at its straight state. There is nothing wrong about that.

This is a felt-tip eyeliner with 0.2 mm fine tip. It is said to be a nylon microfiber and resin texture for total flexibility. What I love about this eyeliner is the shorter wand as this enables me to apply my eyeliner more steadily.

The tilted position handle allows you to hold the holder better in order for the liner tip to reach the lash line easily and precisely, without having to twist your arm too much. I watched a few videos suggesting to rest a finger on the face to keep the hand steady and the tilted holder should be facing up. I find it more easier to use if the holder is facing down. Hence my facing down holding technique. Remember, you do you.

It is matte and opaque black alright. As this is a dip-in type of eyeliner that the felt-tip tend to soak up too much product. By the time I remove the access and apply the eyeliner on, it starts to dries up. Maybe it is not a good idea to remove the access. I should just go right in. And because this eyeliner dries up so fast, I have to keep dipping into the pot for more product. The more you use, the lesser product you have left in the pot and I find myself constantly needing to screw the handle back into the pot, shake the bottle and unscrew. This goes on repeatedly and it’s really a hassle.

Is it easier to draw a winged eyeliner or even an eyeliner at all? Yes it is. No doubt about that. The super fine tip is superb in creating a sharp wing at the end, provided the brush is not dry yet. Otherwise it can be jagged.

Here’s what I don’t like. It smudges badly on me. I remember my first time using it was when I went out to have lunch with an important friend. I had my usual makeup on, minus the eyeshadow. After 3 hours of non-stop chatting, laughing and what not, we left the restaurant, got into the lift and I looked at the mirror wall inside the lift. With my friend and maid beside me, I freaked out that she, my friend started laughing. I looked like a panda! But on days where I do have my eyeshadows on like the photo below, the smudging doesn’t happen. I am not sure what went wrong because I always put eye primer on, I set my eyelid regardless eyeshadow or no eyeshadow and I always set my under eyes. So, I have to be careful when to use this eyeliner. I don’t want to look like a panda again on my other meetings lol.

Grandiôse Liner is available in three shades – carbon black, sapphire blue and deep brown. All shades are intensely opaque and matte. And that complements the Grandiôse Mascara, the one with the bendy wand?

One thing I have to mention here is that I LOVE THE Grandiôse PACKAGING!

I don’t know about you but there is something about gift wrapping counter and I like it. At Lancôme boutique, you can have your purchases wrapped up as gifts. What is more happy than receiving a gift wrapped up with Lancôme ribbons, eh?

Now that I have told your 3 little secrets about the new Lancôme boutique at The Gardens Mall, let’s take a walk around the huge and spacious boutique shall we?

As the boutique is at a corner lot, you will find two entrances. Both entrances has beauty makeover stations in front.

Everything are very well-categorized. Such as the skincare section/table, which is creatively decorated with Génifique bottles along the vertical, resembling a water-music fountain.

The makeup tables are my favourite. Everything is within arm reach, every lipstick shade, every blushes. Wish and you shall get.

The overall boutique are inspired by quaint Parisian apartments. What I like about the boutique is how bright it is, thanks to the LED wall screens.

Oh and be on the lookout for affordable gift sets as well. I was there before Christmas and all the gift sets are well-displayed at the main entrance. Gift sets are usually cheaper and packaged with other products as well, making the value higher than buying the singles . It is also the best way to try out a certain product, without breaking the bank.

Lancôme boutique at The Gardens Mall is located at Lot No F-223A, First Floor, right in front of the escalator and in front of the interlink bridge to Mid Valley Mall. It is hard to miss as the boutique is huge and located at a corner lot.

Before this we have no idea what is lip oil. The name itself gave a lot away however many wonder what it does and why do we need to apply oil on our lips. But when Lancôme came out with the first lip oil – the Juicy Shaker, the rest follows and we now know what lip oil are. The choices we have here in Malaysia are very very limited, unlike those residing in the United States.

Now, what is lip oil? Just like face oil, lip oil is an oil-based product for the errr lip! I cannot speak for all the brands on the function and benefits of all lip oil in the market because each brand has its own special criteria. One thing for sure, lip oil is more than a lip balm but not quite a lip gloss. Something like that . One that is slightly different from other lip oil is Lancôme Juicy Shaker. Not only it is the first lip oil ever created, it is also the first pigment bi-phase lip oil. If you have seen and tried some of the lip oil available, you will agree with me that this Juicy Shaker is really something different.

Juicy Shaker comes in a martini-lookalike packaging. Because this is a bi-phase lip oil, there is a separation of the oil and pigments when left unattended. Hence you need to shake it to mix both products well. And a martini-alike packaging fits the bill. Absolutely brilliant! I dig the idea

It comes with a cushion applicator, just like a lip gloss except that this is cuter, shorter, and bigger. I have been enjoying this cushion applicator more than anything else therefore I do reach for this more. The small handy dandy tube also makes it easy to throw in a handbag or even clutch. Touching up is not an issue with this applicator. For the first time I can tell you this – no mirror needed.

All together, Juicy Shaker comes with 15 shades with 15 different flavours, which all taste absolutely delicious. Mine is in the shade 283 Berry In Love and it smells like martini to me LOL. In fact this shade carries a juicy blackberry flavour to it. It seems like a deep fuchsia purple from the tube, which sent me jumping up and down in excitement as I love me some purple lip product.

As mentioned, this Juicy Shaker comes in two phase of product. A transparent oil which are made from a blend of five nourishing oils for the a lip balm-like hydration while second phase provides pigment for a touch of color. Berry In Love on my lip is a deep red instead of a purple. At first I was intimidated with the glossy shine that it gave me. You see, I don’t use lip gloss at all but because this is a lip oil product, shine is inevitable. However I am glad to report that the shine you see are not sticky at all. It feels incredibly comfortable on my lips . That hint of shade is also one of the reason why I reach out for this more. The shade gave me a livelier overall look.

Just like a lip balm, only more moisturizing and prettier to have on the lips. It is so easy and convenient to apply, with no mirror needed, smells good, taste good, easy to bring while on the go.
