It was 2 months ago that I opened up two new mascara to use. First is the Marc Jacobs Omega Lash. You see, I like mascara that is thick, slightly dry, gives me volume and length. This one? Does nothing. So I rummage through my medium-size Sephora at home and happily took out the Laura Mercier Extra Lash Sculpting Mascara from 2016 Holiday Collection. Now, this one I love. It’s volumizing, it’s lengthen my lashes making them looking va va voom. I left it untouched for a week to let the formula dry out a bit and it’s perfect. Love it until one rainy day. I became a panda. That few drops of rain on my lashes melt the mascara so it was all over my lid when I blinked. Besides the fact that it’s not waterproof, there’s nothing else I hate about the mascara. So I was itching to open up another brand new mascara and this Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel was on my vanity table for the longest time. It came together with the entire set of The Loaded Bolds lipstick, for which you already know I love

When I first twist up the cap, I looked at brush and I had 3 things going through my mind at that moment. (1) I’m glad it’s not a big fat rubbery spiky brush, (2) heck the brush is a comb and it’s tiny, and (3) come to think of it I may finally found a mascara for the top and bottom lashes! I didn’t have good experience with similar mascara brush in the past. Yes I was skeptical. But when I used it for the first time, OH MY GOD. The Falsies Push Up Angel has quickly climb its way to be my favourite mascara at the moment!

I’m glad that Maybelline sent me this one, which is a waterproof version instead of the non-waterproof version. I only use nothing but waterproof mascara. I know it’s harder to remove. Wait, let me rephrase. It’s a pain in the b*tt to remove and the formulation tend to be a little more heavier hence bringing them lashes droopy.

Don’t judge a book by its cover they say. True in this case. The “push-up wing” brush may seems a little small and intimidating BUT it packs a bunch to the lashes. This little fella is able to give volume, lift and coat each individual lashes from the root to the tip. This IS the cili padi of mascara. I was expecting droopy lashes 5 minutes after the application but nope. My lashes stays perky the entire time. I find that doing the typical zig-zap motion helps to prevent the lashes from clumping, as opposed to my typical twist and blink method. That method works better for normal brush mascara. Another thing I need to note here is that I had infection on my right eye for the longest time and this mascara didn’t irritate my eye further, which is a good news

I never found a bottom lash mascara that is able to give the kind of volume I preferred until this The Falsies Push Up Angel mascara came along. We Asians has lesser and shorter lower lashes but hey, that’s not a problem with this mascara.

As for the removal, I’m happy to say that this is a breeze to remove. Just remember to always use a bi-phase eye makeup remover and you should be fine.

Will I ever repurchase? Well, yes! I find that my tube now is a little dry and I should be repurchasing another one. This one doesn’t require any second thinking or any long reconsideration because it is seriously good and the price point of below RM40 is fairly affordable to me. You do need to toss away your mascara after 6 months.

The Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips duo is not a stranger to most of you. I didn’t attend the blogger event but I was given this iconic duo when I went over to Physicians Formula Malaysia office for a meeting on #IWillBeOkay Beauty Bag. Always love Physicians Formula team. They are always ever so kind to me. Since then, I have been using the Shimmer Strips since last year and I’ve been loving them! They are so well-loved / beat-up by now which shows how much I adore them.

Shimmer Strips All-in-1 Custom Nude Palette For Face & Eyes (RM69.85)

A lot of people have no idea how to use the Shimmer Strips or rather no idea what it is for. Hmmm I have to note that this product is kinda confusing but if you are a beauty enthusiasts like me, this wouldn’t be a concern at all. Makeup products are quite diversify. You can literally use anything on any part of the face. Now, as the mouthful name suggests, this is a all-in-1 palette for the face and eyes. As I have another palette for the eyes, I am using this specifically for the face. Also because that’s what I heard all the rave about from other people when used on the face.

Shimmer Strips All-in-1 Custom Nude Palette For Face & Eyes has 12 shimmery nude brick shades for a recreation of an all-over nude glow, contour, to accentuate cheeks, and to enhance the eyes. It’s confusing as I said earlier for most people because it comes in a squares bricks and usually that confuses people for some reason. Most people tend to overthink – which shade for which area, what shade for what etc. You will know after a few use the lighter rows are to be applied on which part of the face and also the darker row. I don’t stress myself with square by square. I’d go crazy! Instead I use my brush to glide over the top two rows a few times as highlighter and the bottom two rows for a shimmery bronzer when needed. But to be frank most of the time I only use the top two rows

Besides the pretty lace-print box design, which you know I LOVE LACE for the god of my life lol, a mirror, face brush and an applicator are also included and hidden at the back compartment. Usually I don’t say anything on the brush as I don’t normally use them but this face brush are thick, soft and well-made. Would be so perfect in picking up those shimmer powder and glide over the top of the cheek for a highlighted cheekbone

Haha this photo of me was taken back in November 2016 where I took the Shimmer Strips All-in-1 Custom Nude Palette For Face & Eyes out and applied it for the first time. First impression captured on the camera as I set it with timer and it went off with my shock face. Was supposed to capture picture of me applying but instead it captured my super shock face.

This is honestly, THE BEST, the most highlighted highlighter I have ever own and used. The rave from other Youtubers and bloggers are true. It is the most underrated, most affordable and best highlighter in the market. I highly recommend it too.

Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner (RM63.50)

I contemplated a bit with this Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner palette. I should have not listen to my other friends about how inconvenient this palette is because this is the most versatile and convenient palette to have or use IMHO. Like I said, people tend to get overwhelmed or confuse when they see stripes of shades lol.

Compared to the Shimmer Strips All-in-1 Custom Nude Palette For Face & Eyes, this one has real lace cloth wrap on the packaging. Major love! Most people get intimidated with shimmer eyeshadow. But then again, shimmers are in trend so this is perfect. I wouldn’t say this palette is shimmery. It does look like it’s packed on with lots of shimmers but nope. To me it gives the most beautiful satin-y finish. Super shimmery? Not at all! Physicians Formula said this palette can be used wet or dry. I have yet to use this wet so no comment about it. However I can already imagine how this would be when it’s used wet. That’s called the “foiling” method, where you turn any shimmery shade into a metallic shiny finishing.

How I like to use this Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner palette is actually very simple. I like to take an eyeshadow brush, run it all over the entire palette several time and apply onto the entire lid. When used with the right brush, it gives the crease a natural crease shade. I was amazed and still amazed with this palette. On certain days I would only swipe over the lightest five shades from the right for a lighter highlighted shade. Can this palette be used as highlighter? Why not?

So the next time you feel intimidated with the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Duo, don’t. There’s nothing to be worry about. Both are an absolutely beautiful and versatile palette to own. These two deserves more love and rave.

I don’t wear falsies that often, although I know I should be especially when I’m taking photos for all the #motd and #lotd look. I tried to. I really did. I have all the falsies at home but I couldn’t find the right falsie glue. I have been hunting for months for a glue only to find lots of crap and fakes of the known brand. It’s disappointing. Out of the sudden, a huge HUGE parcel arrived my doorstep about 2 months ago. I opened it up and screamed as I was doing my usual happy dance. You know me. I’m forever happy with beauty stuff sent my way . It’s like someone has been listening to my invisible frustration voice that they sent me a care package containing loads of eyeliners, eyelashes, eyelash glue and double eyelid glue! And it’s from a well-known Japanese brand, D.UP.

I thought I would dig into the eyeliners first among all the products in the parcel but nooooo. I had my eyes and my soul fixed on the D.UP Eyelashes Secret Line AIR and D.UP Eyelashes Fixer EX. I took the risk with trying it on a full face of makeup for the first time for this review. No trial in advance, no nothing. It’s a either make it or break it lol. I was also snapping tons of photographs for two more products review so if I screw the look up, I’m doomed

D.UP is a brand from a cosmetic company in Tokyo who specialized in yes you’ve guessed it, false eyelashes, eye makeup products and nail care and color products. The brand was brought into Malaysia by Teeni Enterprise, who is also the same exclusive brand distributor for Kocostar, Canmake, Palladio, Touch in Sol, Kailijumei, and many more.

Eyelashes Secret Line AIR (RM49.90 / 2 sets)

The Secret Line AIR is a collaboration between D.UP and Maikawa Ike. I have with me two styles – #930 Girly and #931 Cute. These eyelashe fibers are the thinnest at 0.05mm while others are 0.1mm, which looks like real lashes and it has an invisible band. And because each lashes are hand-knotted to the invisible band, you hardly can see the band itself. These are seriously the best false eyelashes I have seen and used.

Style #930 Girly gives a sweet look to the eyes as the middle lashes are longer than both ends. They are not overly long as I believe our eyes shape are similar to the Japanese so you don’t really need to trim a lot off. I like my falsie to sit comfortably without poking my eyes so I still trim a bit of the ends off regardless.

My favourite among the two styles is #931 Cute. This style which has longer outer end is what most people go after. It compliments most eye shape and is very flattering on anyone at all.

Because I have droopy outer corner eye shape, the outer end flare style lift my eyes up making them more awake. It is extremely comfortable, as if it is my own eyelashes and no one notice that I had falsies on whenever I put these on.

Eyelashes Fixer EX (RM39.90)

Now, this Eyelashes Fixer EX knock my socks off. I have tried even the famous Eylure eyelashes glue and it is not even close to this. I did not read the press release before using so I have no idea how super strong glue this is for false flashes. Then I found out this is the best glue in Japan. Oh my God!

It comes in two variants – 552 Clear and 553 Black. 552 Clear goes on milky white but dries down to clear, blending away with the invisible band of the falsies. The funny thing was I have no idea it was that strong that I ‘misplaced’ my falsie on my real lashes and it was literally fixed to where I land the falsie. Not even near my lash line and it was hilarious! But because the glue dries down clear and Eyelashes Secret Line AIR in #931 has the best most natural band, no one even notice the mistake I make lol!!

One of the trick in applying falsies which I learnt from Chrisspy was to open your eyes, look straight into a mirror and place the falsies from top down. This way the falsies will perk up instead of droopy down.

It was last year that I was watching either Lisa Eldridge’s video or Fleur De Force video on the Lancôme’s Grandiôse Liner and I was all fascinated and hyped up about it because it sounded like one hella good eyeliner concept with the bendable handle. As you know, almost 80% of the women population are struggling with drawing a winged eyeliner on, especially Asians. Asians typically has hooded eyelid and it is really a struggle to draw the flick at the end. I have been through so many methods, tips and tricks on drawing a winged eyeliner that something like the Lancôme’s Grandiôse Liner which has a bendable handle seems to be the answer to my prayers. Is it really?

Now, what is so different with the Lancôme’s Grandiôse Liner? First of all the most obvious and the main marketing point of this eyeliner is its ability to bend the handle to a 35-degree angle. Then, to further answer most women’s prayers, Lancôme also made this eyeliner to be intensively matte, dries down fast and opaque.

The Grandiôse Liner do look like a normal eyeliner at its original state. It has a pivot at the neck of the handle allowing the handle to bend at a 35-degree angle. If you think the handle is able to bend 360-degree all around, then you are wrong. It goes to either the left or right. It doesn’t turn round and round like many perceived it to be. You can apply your eyeliner holding the eyeliner holder at its straight state. There is nothing wrong about that.

This is a felt-tip eyeliner with 0.2 mm fine tip. It is said to be a nylon microfiber and resin texture for total flexibility. What I love about this eyeliner is the shorter wand as this enables me to apply my eyeliner more steadily.

The tilted position handle allows you to hold the holder better in order for the liner tip to reach the lash line easily and precisely, without having to twist your arm too much. I watched a few videos suggesting to rest a finger on the face to keep the hand steady and the tilted holder should be facing up. I find it more easier to use if the holder is facing down. Hence my facing down holding technique. Remember, you do you.

It is matte and opaque black alright. As this is a dip-in type of eyeliner that the felt-tip tend to soak up too much product. By the time I remove the access and apply the eyeliner on, it starts to dries up. Maybe it is not a good idea to remove the access. I should just go right in. And because this eyeliner dries up so fast, I have to keep dipping into the pot for more product. The more you use, the lesser product you have left in the pot and I find myself constantly needing to screw the handle back into the pot, shake the bottle and unscrew. This goes on repeatedly and it’s really a hassle.

Is it easier to draw a winged eyeliner or even an eyeliner at all? Yes it is. No doubt about that. The super fine tip is superb in creating a sharp wing at the end, provided the brush is not dry yet. Otherwise it can be jagged.

Here’s what I don’t like. It smudges badly on me. I remember my first time using it was when I went out to have lunch with an important friend. I had my usual makeup on, minus the eyeshadow. After 3 hours of non-stop chatting, laughing and what not, we left the restaurant, got into the lift and I looked at the mirror wall inside the lift. With my friend and maid beside me, I freaked out that she, my friend started laughing. I looked like a panda! But on days where I do have my eyeshadows on like the photo below, the smudging doesn’t happen. I am not sure what went wrong because I always put eye primer on, I set my eyelid regardless eyeshadow or no eyeshadow and I always set my under eyes. So, I have to be careful when to use this eyeliner. I don’t want to look like a panda again on my other meetings lol.

Grandiôse Liner is available in three shades – carbon black, sapphire blue and deep brown. All shades are intensely opaque and matte. And that complements the Grandiôse Mascara, the one with the bendy wand?

One thing I have to mention here is that I LOVE THE Grandiôse PACKAGING!
