My all time favourite cleansing oil to remove all my makeup is from SK-II. But that thing is SO EXPENSIVE that I can never repurchase again and again whenever I ran out. While trying to save every last bit of the cleansing oil, which I hold on for dear life, I have been alternating with every other sort of makeup removers. Creams, lotions, micellar water, makeup wipes…you name it. Then came Dr LeWinn’s Essentials 4 Fusion Cleansing Oil. Bye SK-II!

When it comes to removing all my face makeup, I prefer cleansing oil over any other form. My least favourite product has got to be micellar water. It is just a waste of cotton pads and time consuming for me. So far I have been lucky with cleansing oil. I have not had any bad experience with any of it and it removes my gunky face makeup at the end of the day thoroughly. I have not tried the brand Dr LeWinn’s before and their Essentials 4 Fusion Cleansing Oil sounds amazing when I was searching through Google.

This Dr LeWinn’s Essentials 4 Fusion Cleansing Oil contains a blend of unique botanical essences such as Rosehip Oil, Tamanu Oil, Argain Oil and Baobab Oil. Yeap! All the good stuff.

• Rosehip Oil: Encourages regeneration and deeply hydrates.
• Tamanu Oil: Help firm and boost elasticity.
• Argan Oil: Nourishes and protects.
• Baobab Oil: Rich in Vitamin A, C, D, E & F and Omega 3, 6 & 9.

Now, the thing with makeup cleansing oil is that it is made differently. Some said to remove all makeups including the face and eyes, some is meant for the face and so on. I prefer to remove my makeup by sections. That means the eyes first then the face, and lastly the lip. But with this Dr LeWinn’s Essentials 4 Fusion Cleansing Oil, I was itching to test if it can remove eye makeup, face and lip because all the luxurious oils in the ingredient sound luxurious and good enough for the whole face.

Right off the bat I can tell that this cleansing oil is not very liquidy nor is it too thick. The consistency I would say is just nice. Thick enough for melting off makeup.

I usually use about four pumps to remove my makeup. It is subtlety scented, pleasant for me but scent is a personal thing. I may like it and you may not. Vice versa. But I like it a lot. Smells a bit citrusy. I have no idea how to describe the scent but it certainly does not smell bad.

With using cleansing oil for the whole face, I change my preferred routine just a little bit to – face > eyes > lip. The reason why I do not start with the eyes first is that I do not want black residue to spread all over my face. Ewww! That freaks me out. Same reason for the lip. I use waterproof makeup for everything. The real test for Dr LeWinn’s Essentials 4 Fusion Cleansing Oil is its ability to remove waterproof eye makeup. My mascara is the hardest to remove of all. You know what? This cleansing oil melts everything off in a split second. Whoa! I am beginning to like this oil!

Now come the other test. Does it sting the eyes? I almost never open my eyes whenever I am using cleansing oil but this one does not sting a bit. I can even open my eyes throughout the entire process! Look!

Same with every other cleansing oil, I added a bit of water to emulsify and then rinse with water. What’s amazing is that all traces of oil slip off my face effortlessly and I almost feel that I can even skip double cleansing because it is so squeaky clean. But being the paranoid me, I still follow up with a cleansing foam. You know, just to make sure I get all makeup residue off my face.

Dr LeWinn’s Essentials 4 Fusion Cleansing Oil does what it claims to do – melts away all traces of make-up, removes impurities, leaves the skin supple and soft. It clean so well, leaving no oily residue behind that I think anyone could have skip the second step of cleansing but I would never suggest you to do that because you never know if there is any makeup residue left behind. So to be sure, always double cleanse.

Price wise, not too bad. For RM126.14, you get a huge 200ml bottle of cleansing oil and that bottle alone will last you for a while as you only use it once a day, assuming that you have makeup on every day. The only downside that I notice is that the bottle leaks from the bottom of the cap. That makes travelling with it a big no-no as you would not want to waste any oil. I notice that other bloggers had the same leaking issue too. Paris B told me to open the cap every once a while to release the pressure build up inside. I shall try that trick as I really love this cleansing oil and it is a bit bummer that it leaks . Other than that, I suggest you to RUN AND GET IT! Don’t walk. RUN!

I have my fair share of splurging on expensive makeup remover but this SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil has got to be by far the most luxury and expensive makeup remover cleansing oil I’ve ever had on my face. Phew! That’s a long first sentence to start the review

I’ve always wanted to try this SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil (or FTCO for short). I went through phases when it comes to beauty products, which I believe all of us do. During my “cleansing oil phase”, I was looking at this FTCO online and I was intrigued! First of all, it came from SK-II and when it’s SK-II and it bears the name ‘Facial Treatment’, I immediately thought this product has Pitera™ in it.

When I attended Discovering the secrets behind SK-II’s miracle ingredient, Pitera™ workshop last year, we had a simple Q&A game. I was so nervous just in case I didn’t know my SK-II facts but I won a full size bottle of Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil. I can’t remember what was the question and I’m pretty sure I was so nervous that I simply answer the question without even knowing what the question really was. None the less I get to strike off a product from my to-buy wishlist.

The SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil contain rich formula of Pitera™ (yes!) and Apple Seed extract that goes in deepy to cleanses pores effectively. As all cleansing oil does, this one here eliminates even the most stubborn makeup, mascara and sunscreen. Interestingly, I found this product under the ‘Cleanser’ category. Then only I found out that this is actually a 2-in-1 cleanser and makeup remover.

On the very first time I tried this cleanser, my nose detected a hint of Pitera™ scent. Funnily I couldn’t stand the fermented sour scent two years ago and now I was longing for that scent. Every single SK-II product I touch I was hoping it comes with that sour Pitera™ scent . The oil however is very light and runny. Yes I am aware that cleansing oil are all runny but this FTCO is specifically extra runny due to the lighter formula. I have the bottle in my bathroom for days where I needed extra pampering and extra strength to remove dirty, oily makeup off my face. I like to use about 4 pumps for the whole face. First, working on the face with light massage then the eyes, lastly wetting both my palm under running shower and emulsify the cleansing oil on my face, turning them into this milky texture before rinsing with water.

Why face first and not the eyes like how I usually remove my makeup? Simple. I didn’t want all the black residue from eyeliner and mascara to get all over my face. That would be so gross. So whenever I’m using FTCO to remove everything, I would start with the face first, followed by the eyes. Thankfully for me, FTCO removed eye makeup with ease. Even the most stubborn Estée Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Lengthening Mascara.

What I like about the SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil is that once I rinsed with water, the face feels smooth and there was no traces of oil. At this point I could just leave the face as it is, afterall it’s a 2-in-1 cleanser and makeup remover. Depending on my mood of the day, sometimes I would double cleanse. Every other day I’d just leave it as it is.

What if you’re not a makeup user? Could you still use this product to cleanse your face? The answer is yes. Because of the lighter formula and that it comes with a build-in cleanser makes it equally good for someone who is not a makeup user. The oil is able to clean all the dirt and impurities out from the pores and skin surface, while the cleanser in it double cleanse along the way. In fact, many cleansing oil users at oversea uses cleansing oil to clean their face in the morning

On the day I drove to Penang, I received an email from Dr. Jart+ informing me that there is a new product in the market and if I would like to try it out. But, I thought Dermaclear Micro Water was launched not long after my first encounter with the product back in August 2014? A few days after I came back to KL, I realized I had forgotten to reply the email and I’ve exceeded the product collection date lol. I’m glad I’m still able to get a bottle to try out because this might just be the product that changed my whole perception and acceptance on the whole cleansing water craze.

Getting back to as why Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water was only brought in now and not last year. Well, Dr. Jart+ told me that the time I had my first hand on the product (August 2014) was just a preview on new product line-up. It is only April 2015 that Dr. Jart+ brought the product into Malaysia and sell it officially

If you think “oh, this is just another cleansing water”, well think again. Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water is a ‘Micro’ Cleansing Water. What this means is, micro water is finer molecule that water and provides Nano molecule cleansing. With this, the product is able to clean away even the smallest residue from the face, tone the skin like no other cleanser does, brightens and moisturizes the skin like no other cleansing water do.

When I first got it, I thought like every person would think – this is going to be like a normal cleansing water. Boy was I so wrong. When I pour the product onto the cotton pad, I thought I was pouring water. I don’t know if it’s my imagination but I feel that the water is more finer aka watery than other cleansing water. The smell is amazing. One of the downside of cleansing water that I hate is the scentless scent that smells like chemical. This one? Doesn’t have any of that. It does has a slight hint of floral scent to it that I like very much.

This time round I decided to test it out against my eye makeup. As you are aware, I’m an avid believer in removing eye makeup separately using a proper eye makeup remover product. I was really curious with the performance of this product and I had makeup on that day. Talking about perfect timing . I saturate the cotton pad like how I would with eye makeup remover – pour bit by bit forming a straight line, place it on my eye, wiggle a bit and gently pull away. All the powder product came off and half of the eyeliner and mascara was gone too. I repeated the process with the other end of the cotton pad and everything came off in no time. It doesn’t sting even a bit and it doesn’t cause any redness to the eye. However, I do notice that if I saturate the cotton pad with too much product, the water gets into my eye and it irritates quite a bit. So the key is to go moderate and not oversoaking the cotton pad

People say woman can look scary once they had their makeup removed. I think I did pretty good with the Before and After. I don’t really put on thick makeup so even when I’m bare face, there is not much different. Or maybe it’s this Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water that helped to brighten and moisturized my skin.

I didn’t have any issue with removing all the base makeup from my face and lipstick from my lips. It feels absolutely comfortable on the skin without any tackiness thereafter. Some cleansing water still do leave a film on the skin or cause the skin oily thereafter and I’m very glad to say I didn’t encounter any of that annoying bit with Dermaclear Micro Water. Instead I get on with my chore and had totally forgotten to double cleanse. This is an all-round product that Cleanses, Tones and Moisturizes at the same time so no rinsing or double cleansing required. It is Non-Comedogenic so it suits all skin type, even for sensitive skin.

I usually prefer to use big cotton pad with cleansing water for the face but I ran out so I used a total of four cotton pads for the face and two for the eyes . You might use lesser cotton pad but I like to be sure so I like to go over the whole face with a new cotton pad.

For someone that are not into cleansing water, I amazed myself lately by eagerly reaching for the bottle of Dermaclear Micro Water to remove my makeup. The soothing scent helped to calm me down and get the job done slowly and properly. I like that it doesn’t sting my eyes and removed ALL my waterproof eye makeup in a jiffy. However, I took the risk and tried to remove one of the toughest waterproof mascara, which is also my all-time favourite – the Estée Lauder Zero-Smudge Lengthening Mascara. As expected, it doesn’t quite remove the mascara and I lost tons of eyelashes in the process. That’s totally understandable because that mascara is the toughest to be removed. I’ve tried on Benefit Roller Lash and there’s no problem in removing. I also adore the product for being totally non-sticky and refreshing on the face. My acceptance towards cleansing water took a 360-degree change after trying this Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water

The Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser For Face and Eyes is the easiest and the most simple 3-in-1 cleanser I’ve used. It is made to remove makeup thoroughly, cleanse at the same time and lastly, tone. This means I don’t have to double cleanse because this unique gel, non-foamy cleanser gave me a squeaky clean face. And I can skip toner too. However, on days where my skin is particularly dry, I still use a toner. It gave a peace of mind but there is absolutely no harm if one would want to continue the normal skin care routine.

I’ve tried using this cleanser to remove my eye makeup as well. Now, if you know me you will know that all my eye makeup are waterproof and long lasting. That means removing is a pain most of the time. I don’t have an issue with removing eye makeup with this cleanser except for mascara. It’s not a problem for me since I always remove my mascara separately but if you are looking for one product to remove everything, you need to work on the area more. I hate to say this but this cleanser stings my eyes unless I close both eyes tightly, work faster and quickly rinse thoroughly with water thereafter.

Some time ago Philosophy had a workshop and a few of bloggers went. Right after the workshop, a few of the bloggers actually told me that this cleanser also make a great brush cleanser. I never doubted this cleanser in any way before and I could totally see why it is able to remove dirt from makeup brushes. But then again, I might not spend that much for brush cleanser lol. This bottle I have is so precious to me and I wouldn’t want to finish it up so soon

If you want me to recommend one product from Philosophy to try for a beginner, I would say get this Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser For Face and Eyes. Not the shower gel but get this. If you want a skin care that is more targeted, I’d always recommend the The Microdelivery Peel, which I’ve gone through two sets
