Now, this Neesya 3-Step Routine review is something that I was looking forward to. By right it was suppose to go up before the first Neesya review I did a while ago. I am pretty excited about this one. Who doesn’t love a simple 3-step routine right? The different between both review is self explanatory. The one you are reading now focus on the basic 3-step skin care routine while the previous one focus on Neesya star products.

I know not many of you are into layering skin care like the Japanese or Korean. I am personally very much into skin care layering. If you are not, well good! Let me introduce you to a basic simple 3-Step Routine from Neesya.

Let me refresh your mind just a little bit on Neesya

Neesya is a skin care brand developed and manufactured in Malaysia by Skinworkz Sdn Bhd, under the management of Chris Yong who is the CEO of the company. He is definitely one interesting and inspiring guy I ever met and talk to :). As you can see from the previous “after” picture, it is pretty obvious that I had benefited from the brightening and clarity effect from Neesya. I hope you will to!

Before I start telling you my thoughts on the Neesya 3-Step Routine products, I want to highlight something. It may not be important to you but it is important to me. All Neesya product comes with a hologram sticker. This is an assurance to their customer that the product is new, unopened, untampered and safe to use. If you try to peel the sticker off…don’t be. It is like a tattoo. Security hologram sticker are meant to be that way. Just take a knife and cut along the cap line will do

Brightening Gel Cleanser (RM29/100ml)

This gel cleanser is interesting. I have never seen gel cleaser for brightening or whitening range. Usually gel-type cleanser is meant for combination or oily skin. Neesya Brightening Gel Cleanser helps to prepare skin to receive maximum moisture and brightening effects from the following product used. What it does is dissolve all the skin-dulling surface impurities off but retain all the essential moisture.

For a gel cleanser, this one particularly is more runny. I can’t help squeezing more than enough amount onto my palm for the first few usage as the gel is in a clear form, especially wee early in the morning with both eyes half closed? Lol. I found a trick to this. What I usually do now is to shake the tube first, bringing all the gel down to the nozzle. Then I flip the cap off and squeeze gently. The gel just flow down with appropriate amount. If I don’t do this step, I tend to over-squeeze.

This Brightening Gel Cleanser is basically soap free but it does foams up a little bit but it wasn’t enough for me. I find that the gel cleanser is not suitable for me to use in the morning as it doesn’t remove all skin care residue from the night before. As a result my face is still sticky and oily from all the night skin care layering. I tend to use more and thicker for night routine which explains why it is not a cleanser for me in the morning. For the rest of the day? It work perfectly.

The scent of the gel cleanser is the signature Neesya product scent. The silky texture and scent resemble Brightening Enzymatic Refiner scent the most.

Neesya Brightening Gel Cleanser is formulated with Silver Vine Extract and Alpha-Melight ®, skin benefits from brightening effects even during essential cleansing, while extract of Hamamelis, Aloe and Vitamin B5 hydrate and soften skin. Below is the ingredient list.

Brightening Toner (RM45/110ml)

Many of my friends skip toner after cleansing. It is recommended to use a toner still even after double cleansing. Toner on a cotton pad especially is an important step as this will remove what’s left from the cleansing, on to the cotton pad. You will be amazed at how brown the cotton pad is after that :D. Neesya’s Brightening Toner is a refreshing treatment toner that contain anti-carbonylation and brightening properties from Silver Vine extract and Alpha-Melight™. The vital benefit of the toner is that it provides an anti-oxidant shield to help brighten and protect skin while Hammamelis and Aloe extract soothe, hydrate, soften and prepare the skin to receive the optimal benefits from the following skin care steps.

Although the toner is light, clear and absorbed quite quickly into the skin…it however leave a sticky residue on my face. It is no doubt quite refreshing but I just don’t quite like the stickiness. I think most brightening / whitening is similar. The toner also bear the signature Neesya scent. The product is quite similar to Illuminating Essence as both comes in a clear, liquidy texture except that toner is more watery while Illuminating Essence is more thicker.

Some people like to apply toner using both palm while some prefer the conventional way – using a cotton pad. I would suggest you to use cotton pad when it comes to applying toner. Believe it or not, this step is important as you are not just putting skin care benefit on your face but at the same time you are removing any makeup or cleansing residue left behind.

Illuminating Essence (RM79/65ml)

I know I’ve review this before but since I’m talking about a 3-Step Routine, I got to loop this star product in :D. It will be a short one. Do read on as I’m giving this star product away to one lucky reader

There’s a reason why Neesya’s Illuminating Essence is a star product. This essence visibly boosts skin luminosity using the in-house LumiScience°™ Technology through a 360° approach. As a result…skin is brightened, even-toned, hydrated, protected against damaging free radicals and oxidative stress and at the same time regain it’s translucent appearance and clarity.

As I said before in my previous review, this toner reminds me very much of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. The only different is that this is more thicker in texture. The recommended usage is to pour onto palm and pat onto the face. You don’t need a lot, just 4 to 5 drops will do for the whole face and neck.

In my quest for skin care that are not only affordable but also deliver as per claim, I was introduced to a brand new skin care brand – Neesya which is one of Malaysia’s first skin radiance specialist brand. Yeap you heard me right :D. Neesya is a local brand, by a Malaysia company.

Neesya was launched just before middle of last month (July 2013) and I was one of the selected invitee. You can read this post for more of that. Not only did I went for the media launch and also a little visit to their new store at Subang Parade, I get to try 3 Neesya products a few weeks before that.

So how did my quest went? Let’s find out

The trio that I tried is the 360° Overnight Radiance System that consists of Lumi°™ Brightening Enzymatic Refiner, LumiScience°™ Illuminating Essence and Lumi°™ Brightening Overnight Mask. So what’s up with the “Lumi” and “LumiScience” word in front of the product name you may ask? It’s actually the product range name

Lumi°™ Brightening Enzymatic Refiner (RM35/75ml)

According to Neesya, Brightening Enzymatic Refiner is an important part of the Neesya 360° approach to illuminating skin. The refiner works like a facial peel or scrub to renew skin as well as to enhances brighter complexion.

Unlike facial peel which is more like a gluey toner texture, Brightening Enzymatic Refiner is like a cleanser. It is an enzymatic exfoliator that gently dissolves dead, dull skin cells to reveal smoother, brighter skin. Despite of the non-foamy, non-drying, non-scrub-like texture and look, Brightening Enzymatic Refiner work just like one. It gently exfoliates dark pigmented skin cells thus evening out skin tone and blemishes while on it. With dead skin cell stripped off, new skin cell renewal process begins and this improves the skin protective function and enhances skin radiance.

Using this refiner is also slightly different from the usual scrub and rinse. You will need to smooth a medium thick layer onto your clean but dry face, spread evenly with a circular motion and leave on for a good 5 to 10 minutes. After that, circular massage around to lift the loosen impurities and rinse. Must remember not to leave it on for more than recommended time. This is a refiner and whitening product so it’s best to follow the exact instruction

I personally find this to be the weirdest peel/scrub I ever used. It is too watery to be a peel/scrub and there’s no scrub beads or whatsoever nor does it will turn dry and harden as you massage. It is hard for me to justify if any dead skin cell or impurities is being lifted off. The recommended time is also a bit tricky for me as I have no idea how long is 5-10 minutes in the bathroom. So I’ll put this on and remove after I quickly bath. But of course I’d need to bath again since it was a quick bath LOL. I was a bit paranoid of passing the time.

So, does this work? Let’s see at the end of the post cause this Brightening Enzymatic Refiner works well together in a set.

LumiScience°™ Illuminating Essence (RM79/65ml)

One of Neesya’s signature product and one of the product from Neesya deemed as “must-have”. What this essence do is that it will visibly boosts skin luminosity with LumiScience°™ Technology through a 360° approach. With the technology the skin will regains its translucent appearance when skin is brightened, hydrated and protected against damaging free radicals and oxidative stress.

Does this reminds you of SK-II FTE? It does to me :D. The texture is watery kind of essence that almost resemble like a toner but you do not need to apply this essence with a cotton pad. Simply just pour 4 to 5 drops onto palm and apply all over the face and neck. It absorbed right away due to the texture.

My understanding of Neesya started as far as a few months ago when my friend was looking for some bloggers for an upcoming skincare launch. Fast forward a little bit and I attended Neesya’s media launch held last week.

The company behind Neesya is Skinworkz Sdn Bhd. It is a 100% owned Malaysian company and Neesya Skincare Range of Beauty Products is Skinworkz first skincare and it is also Malaysia’s first skin radiance specialist brand that are able to promise to help users in achieving skin clarity, even skin tone as well as radiance.

I find that a skincare range by Malaysian, formulated and manufactured by Malaysian intrigued me very much. Maybe because I didn’t get the chance to approach this closely to a newly launched brand before, I personally find Neesya is quite interesting.

The person behind Neesya is Chris Yong, the CEO of Skinworkz. I had the opportunity to have lunch with Chris an hour before the launch event together with his elite team which you will be very surprised to know that they are all men! Through the chat at lunch and during the launch, I can see the passion within Chris. He is passionate with what he do, with his brand and with his products.

Chris is not just any other average guy. He hold many years of experience and knowledge from his valuable past experience. And now to add into his already impressive profile is Neesya, a new skincare brand targeted to the lucrative mass market.

I had this question in mind for the longest time. Why the name Neesya? I finally got my answer during the product presentation.

Besides knowing Neesya as the skincare range, I also learnt that Neesya put themself as The Skin Illumination Specialist. Users can have a skin that shines from within in just 14 days regardless age, skin type or lifestyle. All this is thanks to LumiScience° ™ Technology which is a formulation that was trademarked. What this do is that it employs a 360° approach that helps achieve remarkable skin clarity and radiance. Neesya is positioning themself to fill the void in scientific skincare category in the mass middle range market with prices that are hard to resist, from RM29 to RM79 only. This price range is acceptable based on the product size and efficacy.
