My All Time Favourite Perfume
When I was gifted a bottle of Elie Saab Girl of Now on my birthday, I was asked to do a review on it. I said no immediately but after considering it for quite a while, I think I should because it is the latest fragrance release. Granted now the distributor no longer send us any new fragrance 😛 . Before I go into detail with that perfume, I thought I’d tell you about my all time favourite perfume.

I still remember my reaction when I was gifted with a perfume. I think I sent a wrong impression to my friend that I hated my gift. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE PERFUME. Just that I have too much at the moment lol. I currently have about 30 bottles on my vanity table and another 10ish in the cabinet unopen. I wish he ask me what I want and I’d reply diamond 😛

No. 1 Favourite Perfume – Estée Lauder Modern Muse

My All Time Favourite Perfume Estee Lauder Modern Muse
I cannot tell you enough how much I love the Estée Lauder Modern Muse line. Modern Muse, Modern Muse Chic or whatever just give me all. I’ve gone through the entire bottle of the original Modern Muse. Right before that, I was lucky to be sent the new Modern Muse Chic. Both version carries the same scent. For me there’s hardly any difference. I’m about to finish the Modern Muse Chic and Paris B kindly gave me hers! This is a scent where whenever I wore it, everyone would stop me on the street and ask me what perfume I was wearing. It happened at several H&M store, with the cashier asking me what sensual scent I was wearing. You can really smell a Modern Muse chic walking from far. I remember when I was at the Sephora Mid Valley store opening, out of the sudden I can smell a strong Modern Muse storm. I started to look around and waited. Then all the Estée Lauder PR girls arrived LOL. I told them “I can smell you from far” and they were laughing hard. No kidding. It’s really that good. For me that is 😉

Signorina Misteriosa, Opium, Bamboo, Flora and The Scent

My All Time Favourite Perfume Mix
I can’t pick the secondary perfume because I have many! But if I want to save my Modern Muse and use something equivalent, it would be YSL Black Opium. Oh my God. This perfume is so sexy and seductive. The scent is strong but not nauseating. It lasts the entire day without the note changes. Perfume usually has 3 notes in it and each will evolve as the day goes by. Not this one. No problem for me as I like it that way.

And if I want to smell delicious and yet still sexy, I would go for Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia. I’m a floral scent girl so it is no surprise that I would like this one. The scent is so me according to many people. I go heavy handed with this and I don’t find myself drowning in it. Not bad lol. It’s mature, sexy, sensual, seductive. It’s everything a girl would like.

Hugo Boss BOSS THE SCENT has a similar scent to Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia, only sweeter. I don’t usually go for sweet scent except for this one, which I’ve used up quite a bit. It has a light scent despite being an Eau de Parfum. The scent doesn’t last long although I literally bath myself in it. So if I want to smell nice and a little sweet for a quick outing such as coffee run or lone shopping, this is what I’d wear.

This next scent has an impact in me personally. My ex and I each received the same Gucci Bamboo for review at the same time. As much I like this perfume and I’m left with 3% of content, I would want to finish this up and toss the bottle away. That’s because I have a new bottle waiting 😛 . If you like a subtle scent, this is the scent for you. It smells really fresh and floraly. I’m kinda obsessed with it. I only wish it was a tad bit stronger so that I don’t have to use so much each time.

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa is the “darker version” of the iconic Signorina. I like Ferragamo as a whole brand so it doesn’t take a lot of guessing I like their fragrance line as well. The scent is mysterious as how the brand want to package it. It’s a deep, mature, womanly scent that is also sexy and sweet despite being a floral scent.

The Love of My Life – Elie Saab Girl of Now

My All Time Favourite Perfume Elie Saab Girl of Now
You know how certain things that you don’t like a first grew on you and you fell in love? Again and again, all over. That is how I am with Elie Saab Girl of Now. Very much the same feeling I had towards the person who gave me this gift.

I received this on my birthday. It was my birthday eve, raining heavily that we had to cancel our Japanese dinner and go for a cozy home Japanese food order from Food Panda instead. Not the birthday celebration I expected and I was rather disappointed. I bought a new dress to wear. You know me. And it was my birthday! Food Panda was not good 😛 but the company was. The conversation started out of the sudden like “so I went to ask the lady what is the latest and greatest and the lady said this”. There I was, sitting there wondering what the heck this person was saying (because there was no opening line) and this person bent over to the other side of the table, and put the box in front of me. A perfume?! I said. That person replied yeah, it’s beauty. I did ask why buy me perfume and that I like diamond haha. This person has been telling me a few days ago that it’s something beauty and I’d love it. Because it’s beauty. Beauty is me. True enough. 100 brownie points for understanding me that well. I opened the bottle and mist Girl of Now on my arm. I said it smells like some middle eastern scent and I don’t like it. You know how perfume is. It takes time. After about 30 minutes, I smell something nice. I took a sniff on my arm and I was blown away. The top note has worn off and the middle note emerged. It reminds me of YSL Black Opium, only manlier. The beautiful scent stays on smelling oh so nice for the rest of the night. As I used it more and more, I like it. Now I love it. As I’m typing this now, I’m misting myself with this perfume on me. I find myself doing this a lot lately whenever I’m working from home. I have the bottle sitting in front of me. Hard to not reach out and mist myself with it.

There you have it! My perfume collection and what I smells like most of the time 😛 . Conclusion, Modern Muse or Black Opium hands down. Otherwise it’s Girl of Now 🙂

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa
Signorina, my first ever fragrance from Salvatore Ferragamo remains as one of my favourite perfume and I have been using it sparingly fearing that I might ran out fast if I use it non-stop. Not because I cannot afford to buy myself another bottle but it was something else. It is extra special as my name was engraved at the back of the bottle. So it holds a sentimental value to my heart, being the first Salvatore Ferragamo I own.

I could not contain my excitement when Salvatore Ferragamo released another Signoria – the Signorina Misteriosa. Misteriosa came about as the celebration of a chic girl’s mysterious side. The keep the whole “mysterious” theme, the flacon of course is in all black shades, which addresses a statement of luxury and exclusivity at the same time. The legendary Vara Bow too reinterpreted in black, a 360-degree change from the first Signoria.

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa Bow
If you ask me to describe the scent, it is hard for me to tell you the exact but I can tell you this is a fruity floral scent. As you know I am not the biggest fan of fruity fragrance, however I am glad to report that the fruity base in Signorina Misteriosa is kind of kept at the minimum. It is fruity alright but not overpowering. Just nice.

The fragrance opens up to the scent of Wild Blackberry, hence the less fruity sweet scent in the concoction. The tangy blackberry irradiated by Neroli. These two mixed up to create a distinctive top scent.
The middle note are made of Orange Blossom, melt with a sensual scent of Tuberose. This, I like the most.
When the fragrance tones down to the base note, the scent opens up to Black Vanilla Mousse accord and Patchouli. The perfumers of Signorina Misteriosa said the base note has an irresistibly sweet scent but my nose failed to pick up the sweetness scent. Somehow to me I am still smelling the floral note from the middle note, which I do not mind. I loveeeee floral scent.

Salvatore-Ferragamo-Signorina-Misteriosa-Cap
Besides the total black flacon dressing of the bottle, one difference between the Misteriosa with other Signorina is the base of the bottle. This time round, a pink gold plate with four little studs was added. This personal detail was added resembling one of Ferragamo leather bag. It raises the bottle up without the base really touching the surface.

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa Rose Gold Base
Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa comes in Eau de Parfum only. EDP is supposed to be stronger in scent and last longer. Not for me though. The previous version of Signorina I own are much stronger in scent. At times it gave me slight headache if I be heavy handed. With Misteriosa, I have to be REALLY, REALLY heavy handed, bathing myself with it’s fine mist of mysterious scent. It was not as heavy as I expected it to be. I love the scent, love that it does not gave me any headache but I would also prefer the scent to last longer. Hence the “bathing myself” gesture at the beginning of the day.

It smells like…mysterious. Just as Ferragamo said it to be. I don’t smell delicious or sweet. On me it is more of a confident, mysterious, dark, mature scent. Ferragamo made the best fragrance.

One of the question I get a lot is what is my favourite perfume. If you ask me out of the sudden right in front of my face, I would have problem answering you there and then. The reason is I have quite a number of perfume that I rotate on day to day basis so it is inevitably that I have a few personal favourites.

Top 5 Favourite Perfumes 1
There’s a lot happening on my vanity table at the moment but my absolute favourite area is none other than the perfume tray that I bought not long ago. It fits almost all of my perfume with the exception of maybe 2-3 bottles that I don’t reach out at all. This is my Top 5 Favourites Perfumes of all time 😀

Top 5 Favourite Perfumes 2
I did some deep thinking before posting this to make sure that these five scents are really really reaaallllyyy my favourite because after this it will be online and I can’t do anything about it lol. It’s really not that hard to gauge which is my favourite of the lot. These five scents are the one that I reach out the most. I used them quite generously, drowning everyone near me *sorry peeps!* 😛 . For some odd reason, my tolerance towards certain perfume scent has changed. Some of them gave me dizziness and headache, which they never did before. Have that ever happened to you? It’s really frustrating!

Top 5 Favourite Perfumes 3

Dior Addict Eau Fraîche EDT (RM240/50ml, RM340/100ml)

Ranking at #1 is the first perfume I received from Dior as a token of appreciation. Dior Addict Eau Fraîche has been my go-to perfume till to date. I tried not to get attach to it too much because it’s running out very fast but I failed. The scent is so addicting. If I can describe one scent that says it all about me, Dior Addict Eau Fraîche would be THE one. It’s scent is quite light so I usually mist 4 times all over me. I like how I smell with this scent on. I would repurchase this as soon as I’m on my last drop. Might get the whole set that comes with shower gel and stuff too if they have it 😀

Top 5 Favourite Perfumes 4

Estée Lauder Modern Muse EDP (RM200/30ml, RM290/50ml, RM420/100ml)

When I forbid myself from reaching out to my Dior, I find my hand moving towards the newly launched Estée Lauder Modern Muse. Despite having to just launched back in July 2014, heck I’ve already used up quite a lot. This perfume is infused with Jasmine accord in it and Jasmine is not my favourite flower or scent at all. I absolute hate it. Can you imagine how surprised I was to myself that I love the scent? It makes my knees weak everytime I wore the scent. Perhaps it’s due to the perfume’s dual-impression contrasting aspects, I couldn’t get enough of the scent when it tones down. This scent kinda reminds of me the Dior despite both are totally the opposite. I don’t know how to describe the feeling it gave me. It’s the womanly confident sensation that goes well with my body chemistry. If you’ve met me recently, most probably you’re sniffing a lot of this scent. I literally drowned myself with it okay? 😀

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina EDT (RM190/30ml, RM265/50ml, RM355/100ml)

Signorina is not just my favourite but it’s a favourite of everyone I know. It’s a feminine, romantic and young scent that is easily acceptable. The funny thing is I was so used to the scent that I couldn’t smell it on myself so I started to mist on MORE and people can smell me a few metres away! 😀 . This is one of the few scent that I recently started to have dizziness and mild headache despite only misting it once or twice. Somehow I’m no longer tolerate to it as much as I do previously. And it is also recently that I’ve been using it quite frequent and the dizziness stopped. What I like about this Signorina is the romantic feminine feeling I get whenever I’m wearing it. It lasted the whole day on me without any changes with the scent from the beginning. The price is also pretty affordable comparing with others.

Gucci Guilty EDT (RM225/30ml, RM275/50ml, RM368/75ml)

On days where I want stronger scent, I’d go for just two. One of it is Gucci Guilty. Gucci fragrance line in generally are strong character. Guilty on the other hand is strong too but it’s a feminine floral scent. Despite of it’s strong character, the scent surprisingly goes on light on me which is why I can take it. No headache or dizziness. This scent used to tone down into powdery scent on me but recently the scent is totally different. The only reason I could think of is that my body chemistry has changed. I like it more than before this so no complain on the change of body chemistry 😀

Top 5 Favourite Perfumes 6

Ivoire by Balmain EDP (RM260/50ml, RM375/100ml)

Ivoire by Balmain used to be my all day everyday perfume. I’m not someone into woody or musky scent and Ivoire falls under the woody category. The scent is exceptionally strong but unique for its kind. It’s strong personality scent is not for everyone especially if you’re into fruity or even floral scent. In fact a few people I know told me they don’t like this at all and I’m the odd one. I love it! I call this the ‘manly’ women fragrance. This is a perfume for me when I want people to take me seriously in a meeting or when I have formal events to attend to. It is only recently that I ran into a bit issue with the fragrance. I get a mild headache whenever I had this one. That doesn’t stop me from using it. Now I’m using Ivoire on moderate. The max I mist on is twice and that lasted the whole day. If you like a woody, strong personality and confident scent, try Ivoire!

Now it’s your turn to tell me what is your Top 5 Favourite Perfumes. Does your favourite changes all the time? As for me, I can take all kinds of perfume but my favourite usually remains the same unless a new launch came along and I couldn’t stop reaching for it 🙂

Because a Signorina is a different Signoria every day…

To celebrate a chic girl’s most joyful facet, Salvatore Ferragamo launches the new Signorina Eau de Toilette. Signorina is the ideal fragrance made for a romantic young woman who love to express her graceful sensuality through a natural elegance. I’m going to ignore the word “young” :). Let’s celebrate being a WOMAN!

Signorina1
The Vara Bow on the new Signorina is a new combination color of pink and lilac which carries a sense of freshness and a fashion edge. Romantic lilac color reveals the iconic Signorina in a brighter mood while being…chic. Personally I like the color combination of the ribbon bow and the way it was placed on top of the bottle.

Signorina2
All the metallic parts are in pink gold shade. It is a signature must and precious touch to the simple and yet versatile bottle design.

The bottle fits on my palm nicely without being slippery. It gave me a good grip while misting therefore I’m not worried that I might drop the bottle (I’m clumsy like that lol).

Signorina3
Signorina Eau de Toilette scent is fresh, which Salvatore Ferragamo said that it is with the vivaciously cheeky soul of Signorina. The fragrance is inspired by the chic sensation of a rice steam, added in feminine rose notes and fruity tones and dry-down to a milky woody scent. It is not that complicated really. Just imagine feminine, floral and romantic. That’s how I think of the scent.

The notes used to produce Signorina is quite an unique combination. Perfumers Sophie Labbé and Juliette Karagueuzoglou takes a daring step in combining fruits, floral, plant and consumable in Signorina. Albeit odd but it works.

Top Note – Grapefruit & Litchi. Combinate this two and you’d get a natural fruity scent.
Heart Note – Rose Oil & Rice Steam. This unique combination offer a silky texture.
Dry Down Note – Milk Mousse & Cashmeran. Milk Moouse’s smooth and addictive scent is shaken by ambery woody of Cashmeran.

My nose picked up floral scent thanks to Rose Oil which I’m delighted to know. I’m a fan of anything that is rose scented. It’s also fruity but the fruitiness is not very obvious nor sweet. When the scent dries down, the ambery woody scent is not strong at all. Like I said, it’s very feminine.

Signorina4
My Signorina is a personalized bottle. I had wanted to emboss “Street Love” which in the end I settle with my name instead 🙂

Signorina5
For the whole week Suria KLCC Concourse floor was packed with visitors. It must be the scent that drew the crowd in. The event area also beautifully decorated with hanging Signorina. It was a beautiful sight.

Signorina6

Signorina7
Members of the media sample the notes one by one by scent test and taste test. When Signorina was revealed we were handed a ribbon ball ring to sniff. Well let’s just say I took two ribbon ball ring for fun 😀

Signorina8
I don’t take a long time to fell in love with feminine scent like this. I was quite pleased that it mist on fruity floral and dries down to floral while dominating the woody base note at the same time. The only downside is that this comes in EDT without a EDP version. The scent only lasted slightly more than half a day on me, except on days where I misted more then it can last a bit longer. Eventhough I can be heavy handed with this perfume, it doesn’t give me headache at all.
