Wow! I have not done any Sephora haul post since the time Sephora online had a glitch and I managed to score a few items on super low price. Here’s the thing. I have a medium size Sephora at home myself so I really don’t need anything. BUT, when Fenty Beauty was launched, I bought a few items to try and also to patch the hole for the RM593 that I needed to spend in order to keep my Black Card status *&^%^*^$. Yes, that’s me cursing at the nonsense rule. I thought Black Card status is permanent??! The email sent from Sephora was pretty nonsense too, with the title “Don’t Go”. I was like, go? Go where? Then only I know what they meant &%@#^(^%. Yes, I’m cursing again.

After all the unnecessary spending, I am left with RM133 balance needed to spend to keep the Black Card. I have always wanted to go back and pick up the Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Paper Refill (RM40) because I like it a lot. Despite what people say about the Inivisimatte Blotting Paper, I actually like it. The chic packaging with hexagon shape and a mirror on the dispenser are a few of the factors as well. Then, I found out towards the end of September that the private sale will happen on the 5th October. Perfect timing! It make sense for me to purchase the refill since I already have the dispenser. I bought two. I know it seems too much but that will last me probably till the next sale . Plus buying one is too little lol.

I went back on the last day, which is yesterday to patch the remaining RM69 hole. After some rounding I still didn’t know what to get. I was holding the Mario Badescu (wow, I’m surprised I actually know how to spell this name!) 50th Anniversary Drying Lotion which I put back after I saw this. I remember I’ve been wanting a Foreo for some time. Okay, Foreo was confusing to me. There are so many different types with different price range. With Foreo, you either pay hella expensive one or an affordable one. And with that, it’s either hella big or tiny small. See! It’s damn confusing which to get!

I decided to get the 2nd smallest one Foreo Luna Play Plus (RM235) because I feel that the size is not too small. 2nd smallest means 2nd lowest price LOL and it’s not that cheap. Ouch my wallet . When I was paying for this item, the cashier told me there was no warranty for this. Can you imagine how shocked I was and how big my eyes was staring at her? Are you kidding me! No warranty? Only the one with a charger comes with a warranty. Nonsense again! She added that once I pay that’s it. I asked her, what if the item is already spoilt after I open it and I can’t exchange. What law is this? She just looked at me and then before she swipe my card, she ask if I want to check. You hella bet I need to check. Calm down, Fiona. Calm down. This thing better work I tell you.

That’s all my haul from the recent Sephora private sale and also my ramblings. As usual lah. Did you buy anything from the sale? 20% is not a lot but because Sephora doesn’t do any sale except for item clearance once in a blue moon, 20% is not that bad especially for expensive item like this Foreo *&%$^&I^%

On one Sephora online price glitch morning, I stumbled upon these Nudestix Lip + Cheek Dual Pencil going for RM27 each. There are only two dual pencil within the Nudestix range so of course, you bet I grabbed both of it. RM27 each??!! Are you kidding me? . One of this pencil is retailing for RM92! Score!

A few months went down the road and I have not break into either of the pencil yet, until one fine day. I needed to clear out my “mini warehouse” so I chose a few new makeup products to break into. The Nudestix Lip + Cheek Dual Pencil in the shade Mystic/Whisper is more of my kind of shade especially Mystic so naturally I would start with that first.

Nudestix is a makeup crayon brand. Everything within the Nudestix line are in pencil form. I first found out about Nudestix was when a few Youtubers were raving about them especially their contour pencil. It took me some time to digest the fact that everything, I do mean everything from Nudestix is in a stick. The only thing I can accept is this Nudestix Lip + Cheek Dual Pencil. In fact, lip product in a pencil form is so much easier to apply. Each pencil comes in a matte metal casing. There is a mirror underneath the lid, which is pretty awesome. The metal casing itself is a fresh idea and absolutely great to reuse for other purposes or for travelling. Besides the metal casing, there is a product pamphlet and a sharpener as well.

What’s cool about the sharpener included is that you can remove one of the cap from the pencil and attach the sharpener in. For me, I prefer not to have it on my pencil as it makes the pencil a little bit more bulky and harder to store in my makeup organizer. I like my sharpener to be in the tools/accessories section lol.

Nudestix Lip + Cheek Dual Pencil is said to have minimal coverage but major impact. I do agree on the minimal coverage claim. Major impact? Hmmmm not so. It was just, normal. At first I was expecting a rather matte finishing. Maybe because it is in a pencil form that makes me think that way. In fact, Nudestix made this as a creamy and soft product that triples up as lip liner, lip color and as a cheek color.

The shade Mystic/Whisper is pretty similar at one glance, even on hand swatch. One is lighter than the other but on the lip it is a totally different story. The consistency is slightly matte when used for the first time. Understandably the pencil is brand new but once you start using it again and again, it is indeed a creamy lipstick that does not offers a lot of coverage.

What I do not like about these pencil is the scent. It has a strong pencil scent to it. You know, the kind of pencil scent you used to smell from the school days? Yeah, that scent. Imagine the scent 2x stronger as this is a jumbo pencil after all

The shade Whisper appears more mauve on the hand swatch but on the lip, it is a nude shade. Hmmm. Now, where has the mauve gone to eh? This dual ended pencil is made in such a way so that you can create an ombre lip look. The darker shade to line the lip while the lighter shade to highlight the center of the lip. If you are not into ombre lip like I do, just wear it on its own. Who cares?

I absolutely love the shade Mystic. It is a medium tone mauve shade. Again, on the lip it turned slightly brown but still an everyday wearable shade. Both shade is not very opaque, as expected since it was mentioned on Nudestix website that it offers minimal coverage lol. Reapplying is definitely a must if you are out whole day sipping water, coffee or even for some bites. Good news is, the pencil is so handy to be carried around even in a small purse and the pencil tip does make application so much easier and precise.

Anyone else managed to score anything from the price glitch? Now that I think back, I do regret for not grabbing everything that was wrongly priced lol. Ohhh Sephora is so gonna hate me for this . Marc Jacobs lipstick was going for RM36, foundation RM60-ish, Too Faced eyeshadow palette for RM60+ and many many more!

I, for one has been taking pride in travelling with everything full size. People say I’m crazy but I just like how all the full size beauty products lining up at the hotel bathroom against the huge mirror . Well, that was until the recent Singapore trip with Olay where I find myself having trouble stuffing all my beauty products into my luggage. I was only going for a few days so I do not plan to bring a bigger luggage. The issue occurs because I brought my running gear with me. So that took hella lots of space hence lesser space for my beauty products . I have come to realisation that I need makeup kit that has everything I need, minus the bulkiness and luggage space. Hence I went online to Sephora.my and found these two Travel-Friendly Makeup Kit that covers everything that you need.

When it comes to travelling, I do not put on a lot of makeup. The most important is the base makeup aka face, eye makeup, cheeks and lip. Sometimes I even skip eye makeup what more eyeliner. No cat-eyed eyeliner for me. The makeup kit that covers EVERYTHING for the face that I have personally tried and was surprised with it is the Benefit How To Look The Best At Everything in Light.

Benefit How To Look The Best At Everything in Light (RM155)

When it comes to base makeup, I always go for the lightest shade. Benefit offers How To Look The Best At Everything kit in a few shades such as Fair, Light, Medium and Deep. As this is my first time trying out Benefit base makeup, I have no idea what is my shade. So I went on to Benefit.com to look at the shade chart. It is pretty easy and handy looking at the shade chart as they also provide shade preference on real human.

What I like about this this kit is that it has everything from primer to foundation to concealer, powder and even a miniature brush. With only this kit, I do not have to bring anything else. Just this will do.

The foundation turns out to be exactly my shade. It has a light to medium buildable coverage. The photo below is just one light layer. It does not covers all the flaw but it evens out my skin tone pretty well.

Something I did not expect from the kit is that they have two Boi-ing industrial-strength concealer in shade 01 and 02. How thoughtful it is to include not one but two concealer shades in the kit! I used the lightest shade to highlight and cover the dark circles on the under eyes and the darker shade for acne spot concealing.

I was pretty happy that Light is still available so I quickly put that into my cart to check out. What I forget was I am darker now due to excessive running under the sun. So the Light kit turns out to be too light for my skin tone lol. If I am not mistaken, the shade Medium will suits me better. So please forgive the white face turnout. The powder – Hello Flawless is a powder foundation, which can be used alone minus the use of foundation. Therefore if you are using the powder to set your foundation like I did, please do note that it can get a little bit too heavy and thick on the face. It will be thicker on the places you had the concealer on. On my face it is my under eyes hence you are looking at a fairer under eyes .

Tarte Energy Noir Clay Palette (RM155)

Tarte on Sephora online has the most travel kit of all. There was once I looked at my shopping cart and it was full with Tarte! But the one palette that is versatile enough for travel is the Energy Noir Clay Palette.

While everyone went crazy with other Tarte palette such as Tartelette In Bloom Clay Palette or even the Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette, I had my eyes on the Energy Noir simply because the shades are wearable and it comes with a blush in it.

Personally, I am more drawn to purple or mauve shade so this palette is just perfect for me. I also like that there is a bone shade (hallelujah!) a brown and also two deeper shade as liner. I know many people like to see a black shadow in their palette but not me. However, when I travel I do not draw on my usual winged eyeliner so this time the black as liner works well for me.

I starred at the palette for a while trying to figure out what look I can create with this palette because I am used to using a warm light brown as my transition shade but this palette does not have one. Then I figure I could get away with the dull light purple as transition shade and I was right. My favourite has got to be the deep purple shadow, which I used on the outer V. There are two shimmery shadow in the palette that are perfect to pop onto the center of my lid. As for the inner corner highlight, there is a strip of highlighter in the palette which doubles up as upper cheek highlighter as well. If you want deeper outer V, just dip a little bit of the dark brown and deepen the shades of your outer V will do

For this look, I skipped mascara altogether. The dark eyeliner I had on using the black from the Tarte Energy Noir Clay Palette managed to give my eyes the deep and dark look that I wanted. Anyway who have the time to sit down and remove mascara at the end of a long day when they travel, eh? . I would not want to seriously.

The palette surprised me just as much as the Benefit kit as this palette literally have zero fallout. The quality of the shadows are as good as the rumours I heard. These shadows are quite pigmented and easy to blend away except for two lighter shades which I used as transition shade. That two takes a little bit more building to get the colour payoff that I like.

There you have it! My travel-friendly makeup kit that I think everyone should have when they are travelling. I don’t usually browse Sephora.my as I get my Sephora fix directly from the store instead of their online store but there is this ad on Facebook by Sephora saying that their online store is having a 25% sale on selection items. Curious cat I was, I login to Sephora.my, look for the SALE tab and started browsing. When I saw Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencil was on sale price of RM27, I excitedly continue to browse and discover more and more items on a really steal price. Then I started Whatsapping a few people. I Whatsapp Paris B on Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick and Kiss Pop Lipstick that was on RM36 sale price, ShopGirl on the unbelievable RM27 discovery, and Mieza on Nudestix 3 PC Magnetic Eye Colour Kit which was RM51 for the whole set. What was odd was the discount percentage shown was lesser than the final price shown. I could not be bothered about the percentage. My eyes was glued to the final price lol.

I placed my order, made payment and my parcel was sent out a few hours after that. But because my area was not within Aramex delivery area, as usual the parcel was redirected to GDex and it arrived yesterday afternoon. There was three Nudestix Lip + Cheek Stain set available but one of the set was sold out. So I got the other two – Soul & Flesh and Mystic & Whisper. The description on Sephora.my page said that this is a 4-in-1 product. I always thought it is a 2-in-1 stick so I went to Sephora.com for more info. It said it is a lip color, lip liner, lip balm, and cheek color. Duh! Anyhow you put it it’s still a 2-in-1 product for me LOL.

Marc Jacobs was on a huge markdown as well. Well, at least that is what I thought. It was just a system glitch or human error . Since I have been buying so much lipstick lately including Nudestix in this small haul so I skipped their irresistible RM26 lipstick, for which I regretted now. I stumbled upon the Marc Jacobs Feather Noir Ultra-Skinny Lash-Discovering Mascara for just RM32. Seriously? I paid near to RM50 for Korean brand skinny mascara. And this is Marc Jacobs! BUY! I do not want to tempt you but the Genius Gel foundation was just RM60. Let’s not get into Becca. I had my eyes on so many of their products but they ran out of the shades I want so I was forced to not get any Becca

Oh. This is one interesting story. Earlier in June, Sephora sent out a newsletter on a free Benefit Cosmetics ka-BROW! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Colour deluxe sample for the first 50 Black Card customers by entering a certain code. It was supposed to be valid from 2nd June to 8th June. I had a few things in my cart and entered the code for the GWP but never get to checkout. The GWP item remains in my cart all this while until last week. So when I checkout, the gift remains. I was curious to see if Sephora would send me the GWP and they did .

So that is my small Sephora online haul. I think they notice the pricing error and everything was readjusted back to the sale price that was supposed to be within a few hours. What I paid was indeed a glitch. It happens all the time with Sephora.my. But this time the glitch was a steal for me and to those who managed to purchase some of the items
