I got to know Love Face when a few bloggers went to one of their event and posted on Instagram about it. Usually I browse through Instagram in a fast manner, not paying much attention but most picture from the event that I saw was 23.5N. And the brand 23.5N from Taiwan was one of the brand that I particularly like when I attended the Taiwan Beauty Power Networking Event last year. I was like… since when 23.5N was launch in Malaysia? Because I remember the brand told me that they “have plans” to expand their market to Malaysia shore but I didn’t expect they did it in just a short few months. So I started browsing Love Face website. To be honest at that time I have no idea what I was looking at as I can’t understand what they are trying to sell – is it a monthly beauty box subscription? Is it a curated type of beauty box? Why so many mask? And so on. Fast forward to a few months ago when I met the lovely Founder of Love Face. It was then I understand what is Love Face. I find that the Founder and I both have one thing in common; and that is we both do what we are passionate about and everything else such as money etc comes next. It was through that one meeting that I see my younger self in her, which is why we could meet and chat for hours. We are going to launch a Love Face X #IWillBeOkay box soon but before that, I thought I might tell you a bit more about Love Face in this short and simple post.

1. First and only online store selling imported Taiwan beauty products

We have all seen a lot Korean beauty online store, Japanese beauty online store, Western beauty online store and what not. Love Face is more passionate about Taiwan beauty products and this fills in the gap in the market. They have deep understanding of the Taiwan beauty trend (even more than I do) and fell in love with the products they had tried. Then they go the extra mile in bringing the products in. Everything you see on Love Face website are specially curated by the Founder herself. You will not find the same set elsewhere, even the travel set of 23.5N are all curated and well chosen. Based on the conversation I had with Love Face, I find that Taiwan beauty products are expensive to bring in, hence not many people want to sell Taiwan products here. However, you will be able to find rare brands from Love Face. Among the brands Love Face carry are 23.5°N, L’herboflore, Soffy Girl, Beauty Mate, A.H.C, Beauty Love, Gifu Cosme, LuLuLun, Utena, and Maison De Blanc. They are slowly adding more and more brands in so keep checking them out from time to time!

2. Main focus is face sheet mask

I remember telling Love Face the first impression they gave me, hoping they will not get mad at me for being such a straight forward person. But I meant well and I wanted to help so I told Love Face what I think – that I don’t understand their direction. I’m glad I did because then I understand the whole business aspect more. I won’t spill all the beans here but in a nutshell, Love Face focuses on face sheet mask, besides bringing in Taiwan skin care brands into the market. So when we both sat down to curate our upcoming Love Face X #IWillBeOkay box, we tie the box back to Love Face core focus and that is face sheet mask

3. Hassle-free checkout

When I implement #IWillBeOkay Shop into this blog, I wanted the check out process to be the simplest ever because I get the nastiest comments sometimes and I know I will get pounded with more nasty comments if they are not straight forward like – click buy, pay and get the parcel. The first thing I check when I first browse through Love Face website was their check out page. I know, weird that that’s the thing I see first . And to my surprise, they are the simplest ever! Comparing to every other online store, Love Face has a hassle-free check out page. According to the Founder, they do get enquiries on how to check out despite being an automated step-by-step website. So they customized EVERYTHING to be within the same page. That, my friend, is the simplest and most hassle-free check out I’ve seen. I started to think we think alike lol.

The fun part about what I do is to go behind-the-scenes of many things. The most recent one sounds unrelated to me, according to my friends. Behind-the-scenes walk into IPC Shopping Centre Phase 2 and 3 redevelopment, but I disagree. You see, I do have sentimental feelings towards IPC Shopping Centre. Why did I agree on this? (1) Many of you may not know that I used to look after Samsung Malaysia’s key outlet in IPC Shopping Centre, which was previously known as Ikano Power Centre, (2) It sounds hella fun putting on safety boots, hard hat and reflective safety vest like project managers do, (3) It’s not everyday an opportunity to go behind the scene of a shopping centre come by, so why not!

I personally frequent IPC Shopping Centre a lot and that includes Ikea which is just next door. Ask me about all the food at LG floor and I could name which is good and what not. However IPC Shopping Centre has been under going massive renovation since March 2017 as a next step mesure to strengthen its presence in the market. Phase One was done and recently launched and that is the LG1 and LG2 floors. The one I went for a peep is Phase Two and Three.

LG1 is now known as Foodland. When I was there, I couldn’t recognize where I was as everything was so different from the IPC Shopping Centre I know. Suddenly it felt foreign to me and I was literally speechless and looking around in awe. I felt a little bit sad because the once familiar place to me is so much different. Foodland is now fully refreshed and complete with new design as well as new concept. Its key tenants such as Uncle Lim’s, De Irrfan’s Café, Noodle Shack remains. Yay! There are also new tenants as well such as AEON Wellness, Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul, Ben’s Independent Grocer, which will be opening in October 2017 and many more. As for LG2, i-Alter and Thule remains. IPC Shopping Centre also invested in a leading sustainable dishwashing and cleaning system to align to its initiative into a greener future. This system is safe, efficient and ecological.

We of course got to try ALL the food. Should have went with an empty stomach instead LOL.

Penang Curry Mee (Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul), Lobak (Ah Cheng Laksa), Nasi Beriani (De Irrfan’s Café), Porridge (I Love Yoo), Crispy Popiah Prawn (Sister’s Crispy Popiah), Nasi Ayam Goreng Berempah (Laksaamana), Roasted Chicken Rice (Simply Chicken), Nasi Lemak (Uncle Lim’s), Traditional Dry Pan Mee (Noodle Shack), and Thai Basil Chicken Rice (Eat Drink Thai Express).

We are also THE FIRST to try a new menu from MyeongDong Topokki, called Nasi Lemak Ayam Topokki. It is available for a limited time only from 20th August t0 16th September 2017. This new dish is in conjunction with Malaysia’s 60th Independence Day celebration. Only available at Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Putra, One Utama, IPC Shopping Centre, Paradigm Mall, Pearl Shopping Gallery, The Mines, Setia City Mall for RM9.90. What a combination! Traditional Malaysia food with traditional Korean food. Who would have thought that’s possible?

While we were looking for parking, we drove pass this interesting looking recycling centre. It was the Recycling and Buy-Back Centre (RBBC) which was upgraded and relocated to a more convenient and strategic location on LG1 parking floor. IPC offers a humble buy-back on selected items such as cardboard, magazines, newspapers, plastic, tin/metals, and aluminium with a minimum deliver of 1kg. It will also be a place to safely dispose used batteries and fluorescent light tubes and light bulbs as well. Just a little fun fact. IPC Shopping Centre is the FIRST shopping centre in the entire Malaysia to house an RBBC. That my friend has set a benchmark for other malls in paving a way for a better, greener future.

We then adjourned to the project manager’s office to change our shoes to safety boots, put on a hard hat and reflective safety vest before we were brought to Phase Two and Three construction area. These phases are still underway but looking at the progress with my own eyes, it will not be that long before these phases complete in the second half of the year. Level 2 will be more of a family-friendly space with its redevelopment and will be creating an all-new kids’ play area called Funland. This level will also be home to the second Young Chefs Academy in Malaysia, offering fun and creative cooking classes for kids.

Get ready for the new Scandinavian-themed shopping centre fully operated by the second half of the year and reimagine the next future of shopping experience. At the mean time, you are more than welcome to explore the renewed LG floors to get a taste of what the new IPC Shopping Centre has got in store.

So the news about H&M going online broke a month ago and they even offered a special 20% OFF code for the first flock of people who signed up for their newsletter. The promise was that once H&M Online was launched, these flock of people who signed up will received a discount code. H&M kept their promise alright. I received my discount code, placed my order and was put through a local delivery drama. I posted all of that and what went wrong on my Instagram Stories.

Custom tax, warehouse location and cancelling order

Initially the order I placed sums up to RM1,995.18 and I only paid RM982.22. Happily paid for my order and 10 minutes later as I was going through the invoice sent to my email, I noted the part about custom tax. CUSTOM TAX! How could I forgot about that?! Immediately I called the customer service number provided on the website. It looked like a local toll-free number but once I heard the ringing tone, I knew I was calling an oversea number. True alright. I spoke to someone in the UK. I asked if order placed from Malaysia site, where would the goods be sent from. My heart sank a little upon hearing that their warehouse is in the UK. I asked him if I could split my parcel into two due to the custom tax and the guy on the line said they are unable to do so but he could cancel the order for me if the order was placed less than one hour ago. Now, this is a useful info that you might be interested – credit card will only be charged once the warehouse deliver the parcel out. Therefore there was no issue with refund with the payment provider. In this case, my credit card company.

Packing, delivery from warehouse to local courier

I placed my order on the 14th May. Parcel was only packed and sent out on the 17th May. H&M will email the delivery confirmation together with the receipt. However at this point of time there was no indication on the system. One day later (18th May), another tracking number for local courier under Anchanto was sent to me. It is quite confusing as there was 2 tracking number. I learnt that once the parcel reached Malaysia shore, the 2nd tracking number page will start to have some record on it. On 23rd May, H&M sent another email informing me that my parcel has arrived Malaysia and that it is out for delivery. I waited until 26th May but the courier was no where to be found nor do I know who is delivery. I emailed H&M and they told me to contact Anchanto. Anchanto told me that they will get the local courier to contact me. Then the next day I received a call from Skynet telling me that they are delivering a parcel. They read out my full address and oddly, the lady ask me for my address, after she had read out my entire address. That was when I lose it LOL. They said they will deliver on Monday. Mind you they call me on Friday morning, which means they could easily deliver the same day since they knew where is my location. The reason given? “I just got your phone number”. As I was out and on the way home, I detoured to Skynet office to collect my parcel. Interestingly, I was told by Skynet that all parcel does not have recipient’s contact number. Majority of the parcel are with incomplete address and because there was no contact number, Skynet was unable to contact the recipient. I make sure my details are all correct before placing order and everything was intact on the consignment note itself. All that was missing was my phone number. Skynet is capable of delivery my parcel since my address are fully printed on the consignment note. They feel that they are unable to do so because they didn’t have my phone number.

I was furious with the whole experience because if I did not contact Anchanto, they wouldn’t get Skynet to call me and my parcel would still be at Skynet but I was more intrigued as to how I can shop at H&M online without the courier drama. How do I get my number on the consignment note? Then, I had an idea.

I put my contact number in the name column. This way, my contact number appeared next to my name and it was the most strategic placement that I could think of. I didn’t want to put it under the address column as the courier company could easily overlooked it.

Here’s how YOU CAN do it too. Just go to My H&M on the top right bar, click on Personal Details tab and add your contact number after your Last Name.

My test order was placed on 28th May. H&M sent out my parcel on 29th May and it arrived Malaysia on the 7th June. An email sent to me said it went out for deliver on the 8th June but since this is Skynet we are talking about, I only received my parcel yesterday 10th June. I received a call yesterday morning confirming my location and my parcel was safely delivered in the afternoon. This time no drama, no delay, no nothing. And I was a happy camper. The only thing that I wasn’t happy is that the item I bought is a running short, which means I got to go out for a run LOL

I believe the 25% OFF one item with free shipping offer is still valid if you sign up for H&M newsletter. I wouldn’t recommend shopping at H&M Online after the first experience but after dabbling with the site and found a way to improvise it, I wouldn’t say no. Have you tried H&M Online?
