Remember there was one point of time I had so many lip balm sent over that it was too overwhelming? Not anymore

I always appreciate lip balm sent over my way because I rely heavily on lip balm on day to day basis. When I had an allergy on my lips last year, clear moisturizing lip balm was all I used. I keep a tube on my work table so I can reapply constantly to keep my dry lips moisturize and I always, ALWAYS apply lip balm as I do my makeup so that lipstick goes on smoother.

Let me be honest. When Softlips Cube landed on my desk, I was not too impressed. I do not like the squarish bulky packaging at first glance. Maybe it is just me because all my handbag are so small and sometimes I can’t even fit a lipstick in. To bring Softlips Cube out and about is out of the question no thanks to its packaging. Cute, yes. Convenient? Not for me. But on my desk, it is just perfect as it sits nicely without tumbling down. The cube design is said to resemble ice cubes so that you look snazzy when applying lip balm. Seriously? lol

Softlips Cube is said to be a 5-in-1 lip balm. Can a lip balm has so much function?? Apparently it can and it is true to its claim for me so far.

• Hydrates – Shea Butter is the main ingredient added for the moisture to the lip.
• Repairs – Vitamin A, C, E and antioxidants were added to soothe and repair damaged skin.
• Smoothes – Unique emolients formulation to smoothen rough skin surface.
• Protects – Contain SPF15 to shield lips from UV Rays.

It comes in two variants – The Fresh Mint and Strawberry. The Fresh Mint has a mint scent to it but does not feel overly minty on the lips. It does leave the lips some sweet taste to it. Rather weird as I have never had a sweet lip balm on before. But not to worry. It is a gluten-free product according to the press release . I also find the cube packaging to be inconvenient whenever I wanted to put the cap back on because I need to aim the balm properly in order not to squish the balm onto the cap. You know how OCD I am with cleanliness. I really don’t like oily, squish lip balm on the cap

This is the type of lip balm the grew on me. I didn’t put much hope to it but it does it’s job in moisturizing my lips well. No matter how many times I ran the lip balm all over my lips, it does not feel oily or heavy. It stays the same. I also like that it is not the soft type of lip balm that melts with heat. I think partly because of the thick cube packaging. I doubt heat will get to it lol.

Clarins came out with this two skincare and makeup product just for Mother’s Day. Some moms are not into fancy complicated beauty routine. This Clarins A Cheek, A Kiss is THE PERFECT 2-step routine that any mom is able to do in a jiffy.

Limited Edition Skin Illusion Blush (RM85, comes in 3 shades)

Let’s start with the super cute Skin Illusion Blush because I just need to talk about this first . I have seen, bought and used dab-on blush but not this type before. This blush comes in an all-in-one portable case, which is a new concept.

There is a mirror on top of the case. I certainly did not expect that! Rather than the usual sponge puff, this Skin Illusion Blush comes with a rubbery flat top puff and the pressed blush itself is housed inside the cap. Now, that is also something I never seen before. The bottom part act as an applicator so make sure you don’t drop the cap! . Packaging wise is uber cute. It has love design printed on the side of the silver cap. The color of the half bottom aka the applicator holder represent the shade itself.

It comes in 3 shades – Luminous Pink (01), Luminous Coral (02), Havana (03). The one I have with me is Luminous Pink (01), which is a muted pink shade. This shade is what I usually lean more to when it comes to blush and lipstick. The blush payoff is matte but somehow it gives the skin a luminous healthy glow. I spy with my little eyes that the blush do have specks of fine shimmers in it. Just a little bit and that shimmers are not even noticable on the skin. It sort of melted onto the skin upon application hence the luminous glow. According to Clarins, the blush is made with ultra-fine, mineral-enriched powder with plant extracts.

To use this Skin Illusion Blush is pretty simple. Just dab the applicator onto the cheek and blend away. Use your fingers if you need to blend more. To get more product onto the rubber puff, simply just press the applicator back into the cap. Underneath the blush pan is a spring so you will get sufficient amount of product onto the puff without overdoing it. You will see how I used the blush from the video below

Limited Edition Daily Energizer Lovely Lip Balm (RM79)

Now, I already knew that the Skin Illusion Blush is going to be beautiful but this Daily Energizer Lovely Lip Balm shocked me the most.

Lip balm usually don’t wow me most of the time. That was until I tried out this lip balm for the first time. Not only the peach fragrance is not nauseating as it is in the box, it actually smells like real peach on the lips. The scent do goes away after a while so don’t worry too much about it. What I was impressed with is the moisture it gave to my lip minus the oiliness. Clarins said that the balm is packed with a cocktail blend of nutritious plants and smart pigment for a nourishing and restorative balm for 8 hours of lasting moisture.

At first glance, I thought this is a clear lip balm. The balm bullet says it all isn’t it? But, when I took it out to use for the first time, my lip color changed. I did a quick search on Clarins Malaysia website only to find out that the lip balm changes color according to the pH of the lip and your body heat. Sometimes it is red on me, sometimes a peach shade. That, I certainly did not expect.

It add just the right amount of shine onto the lip without making it look like you had fried chicken. It does make the lip look a tad bit fuller thanks to the shine.

As I had some time the other day after putting on my makeup, I filmed this quick and easy look using both Clarins A Cheek, A Kiss products. Skin Illusion Blush goes on so easily and it gives the cheek natural flush color. Daily Energizer Lovely Lip Balm on another hand gives the lip the moisture and a tint of color to it. One could easily get away with this alone

In the past one year, if you have been seeing photos of me with juicy, ‘my lips but better’ lips, it is not a lip balm nor a tinted lip balm. Definitely not a lip gloss as I HATE lip gloss and definitely not a lipstick. It is the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil. I keep wanting to talk about this cutie but it kept slipping off my mind. Cannot not admit that I am getting old

When Clarins pulled out all their cosmetic range, all their fans died a little inside. I died a little inside as I am a loyal user of their White Plus HP Whitening Powder Foundation. I lost count on how many refills and casing I have bought again and again because that is all I used. Suddenly somewhere last year a little package dropped at my door step. Inside there is a small dainty and cute Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil. Even before that I have already been seeing this popping out in a lot of Youtube videos. And I was about to order online because it was intriguing! Little did I know that Clarins Malaysia will be bringing back the cosmetic line and this was their first small step towards the upcoming initiative.

Now what is this Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil? The name says it all. It is a lip oil, which is kinda like a thing last year. Everyone came out with some sort of lip oil LOL. After using it for close to a year, I can tell you that this is like a hybrid between a lip gloss with a lip oil. In fact, this is marketed as a lip care treatment product.

It contain several plant oils jam-packed in this small tube of awesomeness.

• Hazelnut Oil: to nourishes, plumps and softens the lips.
• Organic Jojoba Oil:  to nourishes, adds a silky sheen to the skin minus the greasy feeling and soothes the lips whilst enhancing their natural beauty.
• Mirabelle Oil (for honey shade): to helps prevent dehydration and leaves the skin supple and satiny-smooth.
• Raspberry Oil (for raspberry shade): to nourishes, protects the lips from ageing and possesses anti-oxidising properties.

Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil comes in three shades – 01 Honey, which is a soft orangey shade, 02 Raspberry, which is a light red shade, and 03 Red Berry, which is a brighter red shade. The shade that I had is 02 Raspberry, which is a shade that suit my natural lip color the most. Raspberry has a faint raspberry scent to it. Taste like the real fruit without having that artificial scent or taste to it. Despite having a little bit of color to it, it does not comes off opaque. It gives the lips a faint layer of color to it. Nothing intense, nothing vavavoom. Just a color that enhances your natural lip shade.

Now, what about the texture? You know how much I hate lip glosses, right? This one look like a lip gloss BUT is not as sticky as lip gloss. It has a comfortable texture to it, not oily at all. It also does not leave a white strip on the inner rim of the lip, which I appreciate.

Somewhere end of last year, I had an allergy attack on my lips. It was swollen, stretched and dry. The only product I used to treat my lips is Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil. It is the only product that gives my dry lip the long lasting moisture. The thicker consistency keep my lip from drying further. Needless to say my allergy was all better after a few days of having Angelina Jolie lips hahaha!! Truly a lip care treatment product indeed. It can be used on its own or on top of any lipstick.

Roughly about 2 weeks ago, for the first time in my life I had allergy attack on my lips. Yeap. My lips. It is not as sexy as Angelina Jolie as my friends said it is. It is so swollen, dry, tight and awfully painful. I quicky found out that the cause to the allergy attack was the Pearl Drops Professional Intensive White Toothpolish. Who would have thought! Toothpaste causing allergy. I do know I am allergic to some whitening products. But toothpaste? This is the first time. Two days after the allergy attack, I flew to Singapore. I grab none of my beauty products but two lip saviour. They are Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil and this Lip Pure Lip Balm. The lip oil from Clarins works for my dry lips but later on I kinda got tired with the stickiness. Thank goodness I grabbed the Lip Pure Lip Balm along. Initially I have no intention in cracking into another lip balm to use but because of my lip allergy and how it saved my lips from the pain, I have to come in here and tell you about it.

Lip Pure Lip Balm is formulated with food grade ingredients, 5 types of essential oils, 3 types of honey extracts and plant extracts. Phew! That is as natural as you can get for a lip balm. The concoction of 5 natural essential oils such as Argan Oil, Marula Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter and Avocado Oil are the main saviour to my lips. They product the best (in my experience and opinion) moisturizing and nourishing benefits. This Lip Pure Lip Balm reminds me a lot of the previous Orange version, which I reviewed here before. The previous one has a hint of Orange scent to it and this new one is scentless. I have to mention that the old one melts in my hot room. This one? I have it in my room for near to 3 weeks now and it is still like new

Lip balm can be a little daunting in a sense that some leaves a white mark on the lip surface, some dries the lip even more, some causes the skin to peel off and so on. I am happy to report that this new Lip Pure Lip Balm does none of that crap. It has anti-aging properties as well thanks to natural plant ingredients namely Meadow-foam Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil and Rosemary Leaf Extract.

I was relying a lot on Clarins lip oil as the gooeyness of the product sort of soothe the pain my lips. After a few days, I got tired of it. I was desperate for something moisturizing and light. I have 11 brand new unopened lip balm and I finally decided to open this up to use mainly because this is unscented, colour-free and I remember how good Lip Pure was in terms of moisturizing. Anything with heavy scent and colour will send a sharp pain to my lips. Now I am glad I have this, which I do not know what to do with it last time lol.
