Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 1
Cream mask are my absolute favourite since I started beauty blogging. I know many girls are very much into sheet mask but I cringed at them. Cream mask does not slide down my face when I had it on while working on my computer. Some sheet mask can be a little too wet hence slippery on the face. A big no-no for me. Throw me a tube or bottle of cream mask anytime!

I had this Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask for quite some time now. As for the delay in reviewing, you already know the whole story – work caught up, camera spoilt and admitted to service center for 2 weeks. All that thingamajig story. I have also been working on every weekend for the past few months, which I have no complains. I love working. Having said that, work and attending events does took a lot of my time away from really sitting down and photographing products on the weekdays.

The Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask is not new new. It was launched last year, if the details do register correctly in my brain. Innisfree is known for the hard clay version namely Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. And this Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask is the cream mousse version. If you like the clay mask, you will like this too. It comes in a metal can with a pump top. This clumsy girl dropped the can and created a dent on the can the first day she got it 😀 . The pump is rather unique. It has a button cap attachment. It is recommended to always close the button cap and the can lid each time after use, which I understand as the mousse could potentially dries up if you did not.

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 2
The clay mask has its pros and con. So does this clay mousse. It is in a mousse form so it is super easy to get the product out to use. However, this is also tricky. You have to press on the dispenser carefully otherwise the mousse will flows out non-stop. A gentle, I repeat…a gentle soft press is all you need to dispense the amount for the whole face. You hardly even need to press. I am not kidding. The mousse is thick so you can spread evenly all over the face even with just a 50 cents coin amount. Another tricky part is the button cap. You have to use one of your finger to tilt the cap back so it does not get all over the mousse. Imagine doing all that while trying to gently press the pump down LOL. It is one chore I tell you 😛 . Oh and the mousse does gets all over the button cap. I always clean it up first before stuffing the button cap back but that also still gives me one heck of a mess. You know me. I am particular with cleanliness of my beauty products. It is really not an issue. Just personal preference.

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 3
If you are particular with scent, this Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask might irk you a bit. I am not particular with scent but the strong clay scent is not pleasant for my personal liking. This only happened when I apply (ter-pressed) too much product on my face. I tried a thinner layer and I hardly can smell the clay. So lesson learnt. PRESS GENTLY!

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 4
What I like about Innisfree is that all their products contain something from the Jeju island. The Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask is formulated with Jeju’s natural volcanic cluster called volcanic scoria, which was formed from Jeju island’s volcano lava flow. It contain twice as much nutrients comparing to other clay and has much stronger sebum control capability than other mud or even red clay.

Once it is on the face, it does not gets everywhere. It does not drip and harden the crap out of your life like other clay mask. It feels absolutely comfortable on the skin, even on my currently dry and dehydrated skin condition. The mousse is so smooth and I heard its molecules are so much more smaller than our smallest pores. With 6,020mg of Jeju volcanic clusters in it, this means the product is able to slide on between bumps of the skin to effectively clean the pores from deep within.

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 5

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 6
As the mask does not harden up, it is very hard to feel when it is ready to be rinse off. Remember, this clay mousse is supposed to be on the face for 10-15 minutes only, then wash off with lukewarm water. After rinsing, face feels cool to touch, soft and smooth. There was no tingling or tightening on the skin at all. I am impressed.

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 7
Now comes the fun part! Following up with a cold Super Pore Tightening Mask. This is a gel-like reusable face mask. Absolute cute! I died when I saw it. The coolness from the mask helped to further tighten the pores. You can have it too FOR FREE when you purchase a Super or Jeju Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask from 15th August to 30th September 2016 😀

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 8

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mouuse Mask is available at Innisfree stores at Sunway Pyramid, Paradigm Mall, Pavilion, and KLCC.

Price: RM70 for 100ml

Interestingly, when I attended one beauty sharing session last year, one of the attendee said that her face oils up very fast. She commented that every time after she wash her face, not even half an hour later she can feel a layer of sebum forming and that irks her a lot. I think what this girl experienced is pretty normal even for normal skin, unless you are the one that stays in air-conditioned room 24/7. Perhaps what this girl need is the new Oxy Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash.

Oxy Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash
Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash is Oxy’s latest family member that is formulated with Pharmaceutical Grade Charcoal from Japan. Charcoal have always remain as the biggest mystery and it has been an unsung hero, until of late. It is now widely known for it’s various benefits especially in the beauty industry. The charcoal added will act as an effective agent to clean pores, absorb excess oil as well as to purify skin so that skin will stay clear and shine-free. The same activated charcoal ingredient also act as a magnet on the skin to suck, capture and lift all the dirt, impurities from environmental pollution and excess oil.

The tube used is just the same tube as seen on every other Oxy face wash product. Nothing bad or good about it so far until Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash came along. This face wash texture is slightly on the runnier side comparing to other face wash from the same brand therefore there is some product leaking from the dispense hole to the cap. Not a big issue, just thought you might want to know 🙂

Oxy Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash Tube
Like I said, Oxy Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash is on the runnier side as natural Olive Oil is added in as one of the ingredients to help skin retain it’s natural moisture level. Don’t freak out with it’s dark grey color. Once you lather into foam, it turns back to white. The face wash also contain tiny bits of charcoal in it. Interesting much. The scent of it is similar to Anti-Blackhead Wash, except that this is much more milder. Good because I couldn’t stand the scent of Anti-Blackhead Wash, which reminded me of Dettol.

Now, the question remains. Does Oxy Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash works in controlling oil on the face? Yes and no. You remember the story I told you about at the beginning of this post? I can tell you that Oxy Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash will work on her. And on me too. I am not someone that stay in air-conditioned room all day long. My face is the oiliest when I wake up in the morning. That is because I layer a handful of skin care the night before. I do like to “oil” up for bed lol. Since I have combination / oily skin, my face will get oily around T-zone area in between 15 minutes to half an hour after washing my face. This doesn’t only happen in the morning. It happens every time after I wash my face. I find that if I wash my face with Oxy Oil Control Charcoal Face Wash, my face stays oil-free for the next 2 – 3 hours. This is why I said yes it works. The no part is that it doesn’t really lessen oil secretion. It just prolong the oil-free duration after, provided you use the face wash. Is it worth to try? Why not? I say it’s a good affordable oil control face wash to try. And remember my Cleanser 101 post? Foaming cleanser will last you for a very long time as you only need a tiny bit each use.

There are some products that work so well on the first one or two application that makes me just wanna shout to the whole world about it but not this time. This time I make sure I really REALLY really test the whole range out properly and under different circumstances. You know, just want to make sure it wasn’t any false alarm 🙂

You guys, after years of searching…I finally found the perfect moisturizing skin care range that works for my oily skin condition. Like I said, I took my sweet time testing the NEW Yadah Pure Green 3-Step Moisture Care out just to confirm that this is it. Thus the delay in the review.

Yadah Pure Green
Simplicity is what I’m into right now. Yadah Pure Green 3-Step Moisture Care is a simple 3-step skin care regime that nourishes the skin with nutrients from Royal Jelly, one of nature’s most powerful nutrients to help regenerate skin cells and lock in moisture for up to 24 hours. I know most moisturizing or hydrating skin care claim the same if not similar but I can totally attest to the claim. Pure Green range is formulated with rich antioxidants to restore strength, suppleness and healthy radiance to dry skin. Remember I always said that when the skin is well-hydrated, the more resilient it is to environmental aggressors and skin problem.

Pure Green Toner (RM55 / 120ml)

Yadah Pure Green Toner
My first impression on the toner was – weird. The first few time I used it, I pumped it out onto the cotton pad directly just like what I would do with every other toner. It’s weird because the toner stays on top of the cotton pad for a mere two seconds before it absorb in. I can almost know that the toner is thicker consistency than normal toner. Thicker also means it’s more moisturizing and it could be too heavy for my skin. I thought because of the thicker texture I need to use lesser. I did. But I couldn’t get enough of it. It felt so light on my skin that I needed to pump more onto the cotton pad and reapply again. I have to mention that the pump is one of the best I’ve used. It doesn’t squirt a lot per pump so I can always add more as needed.

The scent is the bomb diggity. It smells fresh, almost like the scent of cucumber to me. It’s definitely not overpowering, which will suit most people that are not into fragrant skin care. I use this toner day and night. This is by far my favourite toner of all time. I don’t usually pay attention to toner because I think most toner are the same but I was wrong. I think it is this toner that helped to hold all other skin care layering into places. I’ve tried paring Pure Green Emulsion with other toner and my face gets oily on a faster rate. I’ve tried it a few times but the result is the same. When I pair this Pure Green Toner back to Emulsion, my sebum production is back on control and my face doesn’t gets oily. If you do plan to pick up any of the Pure Green product, you HAVE TO pair with the toner. I feel it work best complementing each other.

Yadah Pure Green Swatch

Pure Green Emulsion (RM55 / 120ml)

Yadah Pure Green Emulsion
My favourite product of all three is the Emulsion. Before I tell you why, let me tell you about my tricky skin condition. I have oily skin because my skin is dehydrated on the deep down inside. The ideology behind sebum secretion is that when your skin is dehydrated, it will send a signal to the brain and to the skin nerve system that the water level of the skin is low and that they need to start secreting oil to keep the skin hydrated. Most people thought of skipping moisturizer because their skin is oily? Well, that is a wrong move. In fact oily skin people need to apply a decent amount of moisturizer on the skin to keep it hydrated, therefore keeping the oil at bay. But here’s the tricky part. Determining which moisturizer is suitable and the amount to use have always been my dilemma. If I use too much, my face get more oilier. If I use too little my face gets oily as well. It is the same with moisturizer type and brand. I usually gravitate to “oil-free” version or moisturizer that is said to mattifies or dries down matte. Well, now I learnt it is the wrong one for me too. When the mosturizer dries down matte, that means the skin is not getting enough hydration so it will once again makes the skin oilier.

When Yadah send me Pure Green 3-Step Moisture Care, I was a bit skeptical to try. Anything that had the word “intense moisturizing” will freak me out. The last thing I need now is overly moisturized skin that will make my skin oily. I was wrong. With just one pump of the Pure Green Emulsion, it managed to infuse my skin with necessary hydration deep inside, lock in the moisture and the next thing I know…my face changed from oily to combination. The amount of one full pump is actually lesser than other skin care’s full pump. It spreads away watery and light. Is my skin dry after more than a month using? Absolutely not. I would say my skin oiliness is more controlled now and well-balance. The first day I used it under my makeup, I check on the mirror one hour later to blot but I couldn’t find any bit of excess oil on my face to blot. Two hours went by, three hours went by and then five hours went by. My face was not it’s usual self. When I reached home in the evening, I could only find dewiness on my T-zone. That’s it. I thought it’s the makeup so I repeated the same product I used the next day and the third day. The result is the same for all three days. Then I switched my makeup to other dewy foundation and less mattifying finishing powder. Guess what? Not oily, just dewy towards the end of the day.

Yadah Pure Green Emulsion Swatch
On the left is one full pump. On the right is how the emulsion looks like slightly spreaded

Pure Green Moisturizing Cream (RM65 / 50ml)

Yadah Pure Green Moisturizing Cream
I cannot stress enough how important it is to “seal the deal” at the end of each skin care regime with a moisturizer. I know some of you think cleanser > toner > serum > moisturizer is too much but do you know that if you don’t end each regime with a moisturizer, whatever you’ve applied earlier on such as serum will all be seeping out from the skin? This is because the moisturizer molecule size is relatively larger than serum. You need these large molecule component to help in closing up the pores to prevent serum from leaking out.

There are four different types of moisturizer for different skin type, ranging from light texture to rich texture, namely gel, emulsion, lotion and cream. Personally for Pure Green range, my skin is happy with just the toner and emulsion. Technically speaking I don’t need anymore moisturizer after applying emulsion but I do like to diversify my skin care especially brightening product. Since I have hydrating toner and emulsion for day time, I chose to end my routine with a brightening cream. Just because I have the cream still haha! I don’t apply this Moisturizing Cream as the 3rd step because it is too rich for my skin although I only find it adding a tiny bit more shine comparing to when I don’t apply it. It’s not too bad but I kinda like how my skin is without the cream.

My night routine is the complete opposite of my day routine. I usually intensified my night skin care regime in terms of amount to use so I would start with Pure Green Toner, an anti-aging serum, a brightening serum and lastly, this Pure Green Moisturizing Cream. I do switch up the regime a bit on alternate night with full Pure Green 3-Step Moisture Care range because I find each Pure Green product works even better when used in the whole set. If you have drier skin than I am, you can use the full range on day time as well. Somehow it is so well-engineered to complement each other.

You know the best thing someone ever said to me was that I don’t look like I have oily skin? It’s like music to my ears. In fact I have no idea my skin hydration level are balanced. No wonder every time I stop by a brand counter at Isetan and talk about skin care for oily skin, I couldn’t understand why most of the BAs I spoke to said I don’t have oily skin. It was then later on I finally figure out that Pure Green 3-Step Moisture Care is the one that made such a huge impact on my skin! I thought my face just stays matte longer with makeup on. Blur me 😀

I do admit I felt a bit jealous whenever someone told me this skin care is their holy grail or that skin care is their holy grail. I never thought I would be able to find a moisture skin care range that is able to tone down my oily skin and turning it from oily to combination. Now I have!

Almost everyone regardless good skin or bad skin suffer from blackhead issue. I am definitely one of them. I do admit popping these backheads out is rather entertaining and addictive (oppss!) but you shouldn’t do that. No. You should look for a better skin care alternative 😀

OXY’s new upgraded Anti-Blackhead Wash now comes with powerful Mineral Enriched Volcanic Clay that works on your skin in multiple way, keeping the skin clear from backheads. Let’s find out how.

Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash
A decade ago, people will tell me that acne / pimples and blackheads would stop after puberty. With our current weather getting more and more hotter, add that with currently hectic and stressful lifestyle, these skin problems is never ending. At least not for me. In fact my skin turns younger these days with more breakouts. Blackheads usually develop on oilier areas on the face i.e. the T-zone. It happens when the pores are clogged up with oil, dead skin cells and dirt which later oxidizes when hair follicles are exposed. That doesn’t mean you won’t find blackheads on other area beside T-zone. Trust me, it’s everywhere 😛

Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash is a multi-facial cleanser that works by:

  1. Cleanses deep into the skin to unclog pores from oil, dirt and impurities.
  2. Remove blackheads and preventing future blackheads and acne formation.
  3. Control sebum secretion.
  4. Provide long-lasting hydration.

Most Oxy cleanser that I’ve used before are thick in texture and are easy to lather. Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash is not exceptional either. The cleanser comes in a thick cream consistency. A little does goes a long way. I usually only use a small pea size, not the amount as shown below aight? 😀

Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash Dollop
Love the cleanser as it does foams up very well and cleans thoroughly but one thing that really puts me off is the scent. It does carry a rather strong Dettol-y scent to it. I’m certainly not a fan of anything with Dettol scent. It took me quite a few weeks to really get used to the scent. I think I’m okay now because I stop breathing while washing my face lol. I’ve been using this Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash diligently a few weeks ago because of the non-stop breakout that I’m having (still). However I only use it once a day because I need to use another tea tree oil cleanser to tone down the breakout. You know how much I love my Bioré Pore Pack right? Once a week I will use the pore pack to clean all the blackheads off my nose and I find it quite odd that the pore strip peels off clean ever since I started using Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash. I’m only able to get 10% blackheads off as compared with how it used to be previously. I’m not sure if Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash is the reason behind it but I haven’t been trying any anti-blackhead products at the moment beside this facial wash so it must be it! 😀 . Like I said earlier, blackheads not only develop on T-zone but on other areas on the face as well. I do get one here and there on my jaw and cheek as well. Sometimes I try to spot for blackheads. Good news is that I couldn’t find any blackheads at the moment 😀 *touch wood*

Here are the main ingredients in Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash and its beneficial function:

  • Mineral Enriched Volcanic Clay – deep cleanse and remove blackheads, remove excess oil, impurities and dirt trapped inside pores.
  • Avocado Pear Extracts – control excess sebum secretion for long lasting oil control.
  • Evermat Extracts – minimizing pores to prevent oil and dirt buildup in the pores.
  • Nano Glacier water from Switzerland – lock in moisture and to provide long lasting hydration to the skin.

Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash Foam
Here comes the good news. The good news is this Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash is super duper affordable and easy to get. It comes in two pack sizes. Good because it doesn’t burn anyone’s pocket for trying out new product. Good because I won’t feel the pinch if it doesn’t work for me. I wouldn’t say Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash totally eliminate all blackheads on my nose. I know that is quite impossible looking at my current nose condition. It has been like this for so many years and it will still be the same. Anyhow I was quite surprised that my nose is lesser congested with dirt now. Makeup goes on smoother and easier too. As for sebum control, well it was alright. This cleanser does contain Nano Glacier water to provide long lasting hydration to the skin so my skin wasn’t extremely oil and not dry either. I don’t find it to be much of a help in reducing acne or reducing future acne. I still get new acne popping out. I feel that this cleanser works best on blackheads than pimple on me. However blackheads on every other areas on my face is lessen 😉

Oxy Anti-Blackhead Wash is available at all leading pharmacies and major supermarket outlets nationwide.
