Earlier this year, I did a review on The Face Inc Primer Mist. This face mist came to me when I was obsessed with face mist. I still am . So when The Face Inc invited me for the launch of the Limited Edition Gold Primer Mist, I said yes. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I have to absent myself from the event and to meet the beautiful Tong Bing Yu, the product ambassador for The Face Inc. But it’s okay as The Face Inc kindly send me a set of the Limited Edition Gold Primer Mist!

I’m not going to elaborate much on it because it is the same exact product as the original Primer Mist. The only difference is the gold packaging in conjunction with The Face Inc’s 2nd anniversary. This face mist is a hydration face mist that is lightweight and works by smoothing and tighten the skin in just 15 seconds, together with instant hydration boost up to 15 times. The function remains the same as the original version as well. Because of this, I knew I would love this gold packaging one as well.

The brand itself is unique as they have an intelligent online skincare consultation system called Dr Rei. Dr Rei help customers to identify their skin concerns through a series of questionnaires and then prescribe the appropriate treatment products for them. Although The Face Inc is not largely viable through every walk-in stores except for Sasa, thanks to Dr Rei and the system, they are able to still make themselves accessible to consumers everywhere. At the moment The Face Inc has a presence in 9 countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Vietnam. Its 16 proprietary skin treatment products are being sold in more than 1,000 retail stores and by October 2017, The Face Inc will expand into 25 countries.

My friend Carol kept telling me that The Face Inc Primer Mist is a face primer. I remember stalking The Face Inc on Instagram for a few weeks before that and there was no mention that this The Face Inc Primer Mist is a primer in a mist form. I could have missed something, I don’t know so now, as I am typing away for the review, I am looking at the product little booklet and I know why my friend said it is a face primer. The recommended best to use method is to mist all over the face before makeup as it provides instant hydration boost of up to 15 times. Hence it is named as primer mist. But that is not all.

As you already know, I am a slave for face mist. Face mist all day everyday! When The Face Inc broadcasted on the launch of the Primer Mist, I told myself I must get my hands on it. Now that I have it with me, I can tell you what it is. It is a face mist that hydrates the skin by 15 times boost, smooth and tighten the skin in just 15 seconds. Now, The Face Inc is not a stranger with claiming a product to work in seconds. If you still remember my review for Eye Lift, it was claimed to lift, tighten and smoothen the under eyes in 30 seconds and it did. So I have high hopes on this Primer Mist that claimed to smooth and tighten the skin in just 15 seconds. Let’s see if it really does.

What I like about this Primer Mist is that it is small, easy to throw it in the bag and it comes with two extra refill vials of 15ml each. However, if you go through face mist like I do, one vial will last you for probably 2 to 3 weeks give and take. I do take it out with me and had a full use of it when I am out and about.

What I am most excited about this cute little mist is the hydration benefit. It has enriched formula of proprietary botanical extracts and weightless blend of natural moisture preserving ingredients that delivers all-day moisturised feel to the skin thus plumping the appearance. The Face Inc said this is a 3-in-1 products – priming, hydration and tightening. I am using Primer Mist for everything except for priming my face because I already have so much skincare on my face so this mist is not necessary. However I am using the mist to set my makeup. True enough, it does provides me the necessary hydration to the skin so my makeup was flawless with no shine peeking through. I can get quite oily these days if my skin is too dehydrated . I like it very much as a skin hydration boost. It does not interferes with my makeup at all.

But what intrigued me is the claim to instantly tighten the skin in 15 seconds, visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles and the improvement of skin elasticity. When I first used Primer Mist, I seriously thought this is some kind of magic potion. So I had a table stand mirror set in front of me and start misting my face. Then I stared at the mirror and trying to “feel” the tightening sensation (if there’s any). Nope. There was no tightening sensation, no tightening or what so ever happened in the next 15 seconds. I already knew prior that was quite impossible to achieve so honestly, I did not put too much high hope on it. I do believe that result varies from individual to individual. What may not work for me, may work wonders for others . I am already happy to have this as a hydration boost to my skin. I used to have oily skin. If your skin is as dehydrated as mine now, girl…you will appreciate this Primer Mist.

Let’s talk about the refill because I have one funny incident the minute I got this product on my hand. I like to shake all my skincare before using including face mist so when I shake this Primer Mist, the refill inside the tube flew off. Thank goodness the vial glass is not some cheapo glass that breaks easily or else I would be crying my eye balls out lol. I then learnt that the refill vial is just sitting inside the tube with nothing to secure it in place so be careful if you like to shake any skincare bottle like I do. Just hold onto the top before shaking . None the less replacing the refill is so easy. Simply take out the vial from tube and plonk a new one in. Easy peasy.

Another feature of The Face Inc Primer Mist that I appreciate very much is the pump twist. I like that it hides the pump when it is not in use. The refill vial does stays put in the tube though , provided there was no vigorous shaking lol.

Do you need this Primer Mist? No you don’t. YOU WANT IT. If you like a heavier in formula face mist than a thermal spring water mist, you will like this one. The mist is something you need to get used to. It does not mist like other face mist. It is a short, stiff mist squirt, which means I am misting my face portion by portion. The mist water however is a fine one. It does not wet your face with a flood of water. So do not worry about that

While The Face Inc products has been a hit and miss for me, I absolutely adore the brand overall. A recent digging through the skincare stash cabinet for a mild cleanser had brought me into discovering another hit and love. That is The Face Inc Cleansing Gel. I am going through some kind of cleanser phase at the moment where I need to have 4-5 cleansers at every basin and bathroom. I can never have enough of opened cleanser. Sometimes I find what I like too heavy, sometimes too foamy, sometimes too slippery and sometimes not cleansing enough. Somehow recently I wanted something mild. Something that I can use at a snap of a finger to get rid of some sebum in the afternoon. I do not get very oily nowadays so anything mild works.

Mild. Very mild. That is what I can say about The Face Inc Cleansing Gel. It is said to be a hydrating cleanser that tones the skin as well. I personally do not find this cleanser to be drying. Does it hydrate? I do not know actually. But it sure do keep my skin clean and happy. I guess the answer to that is a yes.

It has a very pleasant mild cucumber extract scent to it that it almost smells like lime to me. I cannot get enough of the scent. I freaking love it. So much so that I almost went all out to buy lime, cut it into slices for the product photo. But nah. I knew this review is going to be a short and sweet one so I abandoned the idea lol. If you must know, it comes with Sodium Chloride, which is a natural astringent and antiseptic agent that absorbs moisture, firms the skin and balances pH.

One thing I must warn you. This does not lathers up into a mountain of foams. It lathers but oh so slightly. Just a tiny bit. And one pump dispenses just a little product. Usually I would need four pumps each wash to cover the whole face since this does not foams up. Having said that, the cleansing gel cleanse my face well. It removes every traces of sebum. I don’t know how to describe it but I absolutely love what it does to my skin. A cleansing gel that does not foam up and I like it? Wow. Even I am amazed

When you are aging like I am, you will find everything you can find to delay all signs of aging. We have all heard about collagen and how important it is to our body and skin. Needless to say, it is the most common protein in the human body. Without collagen, fine lines and wrinkles will deepen and emerged to the surface of the skin. Just like Hyaluronic Acid, our body produces collagen in a small quantity and it will depletes over time. If you are living a poor lifestyle, this will accelerate the depletion and slow down the reproduction process. As a result, you will get signs of aging appears, saggy skin and age spots.

I am telling you all this because I have been using a trio product that helps to nourishes the skin from within using active ingredients that prevent collagen breakdown and stimulate its reproduction. The Face Inc Rejuvenate Regime maximises each other’s skin-revitalising benefits when used all three together.

Cell Renewal (RM198 / 30ml)

The regime is pretty simple and straight forward. First you correct your skin by using Cell Renewal. It is a clear essence that contain Retinol (a form of Vitamin A) that penetrates the skin outer layers to repair the dermis layer, where collagen and elastin reside. Salicylic Acid works like an invisible peel to remove dead skin cell so that new cell are able to grow. Green tea leaf extract are added as antioxidant and anti-aging agent.

There wasn’t a clearer instruction as to how to use this so I went ahead with my palm application. It is a gel-like essence that has a typical gel scent to it. However, being an “invisible peel” in a way, it does feels sticky. There was no skin irritation or what so ever using this. It “peels” your dead skin cells and promote cell renewal at the same time.

Anti Oxidant (RM268 / 30ml)

I’m pretty sure I had the sequence wrongly lol. I personally like to use gel before a moisturizer hence I’m using the Anti Oxidant as my second step. This one smells much more better compared to Cell Renewal. It contains Vitamin C and Vitamin C Ester to suppress skin pigmentation and improve skin elasticity through stimulating the collagen synthesis. This clear watery gel also controls photo-damage effects and premature skin aging. This one feels much better on the skin too. To me it does not feel sticky as it is more on the watery consistency.

Collagen Boost (RM288 / 30ml)

I absolutely love the Collagen Boost! It is gentle on the skin and best part of all, not even a bit heavy or oily. This light-weight moisturizer contain something called Argireline to reduces fine lines and wrinkles that are caused by repeated facial expression. At the same time, it increases overall skin firmness. I like this because I can see that my smile lines are reduced. I almost couldn’t spot it anymore. Usually when I removed my makeup at the end of the day, I can see foundation cracking on the side of my lips. Now there are none. Also when I apply my makeup in the morning, I notice a smoother skin around the lips.

The question is, can each of the product be used solely without the other two? I would like to think you can. Let me tell you a secret. I have been using Cell Renewal even before I got this trio to use. However, this trio when used all three together, it helped each other to revitalized the benefits. That is why it is recommended to use all three together if possible
