Oh Lord. Here we go again.

What’s funny is that whenever I posted a picture of the content of a beauty box in the Facebook, usually there is some respond but when I posted the latest Wonderbox November 2013 Edition, everyone kept quiet. I’m just going to assume you girls are speechless lol 😀

Well to be frank I was speechless too. I mean I’m not even liking the October 2013 edition, so you bet I don’t really like this one either. Just my personal individual opinion ya :D.

Wonderbox November 2013 1
One thing that I do give credit to Wonderbox team is the effort. I know they are trying. For this year’s Christmas edition they included a Santa Claus hat. Not sure what will I do with it but it’s a small gesture by Wonderbox.

Another credit from me goes to the more than usual product quantity in the box as well as their capability to include a few full size in the Christmas edition.

Wonderbox November 2013 2
In total there are five full size with three deluxe sample.

Full Size

(1) L’Oreal Professionnel Mademoiselle Infinium By Charlie Le Mindu
(2) Eversoft Whitening and Hydrating Facial Cleanser
(3) Essence Black Mania Carbon Black Volume Mascara
(4) Beautymate Black Pearl & Calendula Officinalis Whitening Nano Mask – 2 pieces

So so sooooo not excited to see these three same product from Bio-Essence that already make an appearance in last month’s box. A repeated brand continuously is not a good idea, what more repeated product for two months in a row.

Deluxe Sample

(1) Bio-Essence Nourishing Foamy Cleanser 30g
(2) Bio-Essence Face Lifting Cream 10g
(3) Bio-Essence Radiant Youth Essence 5ml

This will be Wonderbox’s last monthly beauty box. The company recently announced that they will no longer continue with sending out boxes on monthly basis but instead they will only send out the box as and when they have enough brand sponsor on board. Sounds familiar? Yeap, it’s quite similar to the arrogant one. I think this is not a bad change after all. The market is slowing down with more and more beauty box ceasing operation and focus on other business instead. Each beauty box should have their own identity. I’m quite glad Wonderbox took this step instead because they are going no where. The content quality is dropping month by month, the hype on their box is no longer there and brand sponsor is getting lesser by day. You will love the box if you are a new subscriber to Wonderbox. It’s not my cup of tea sad to say.

On a side note, Wonderbox at the same time launched another box and it’s Malaysia’s first fashion subscription box – Little Black Box. Subscription fee is RM59.90 per box and you will get around 5 – 6 items in this month’s box, depending which style theme you subscribe to. More info and sneak peek soon.

Before I start with my thoughts on the recent Wonderbox October 2013 edition, I want to share with you on what had happened to my box redemption a few months ago.

I have some points in my account and so I redeemed a box just before 14th August, which is before their window closing. At first the status in my account stated I’ve successfully redeemed an August box so I happily logged out and waited for my box. By the end of the month I login to my account and to my horror Wonderbox changed my August box to September box! So I dropped Wonderbox an email regarding this matter. I was told that I redeemed after the window was closed. When I confronted Wonderbox on this allegation, they quickly changed statement to “we have a sold out month”. Once again…how can it be possible if I still see the box balance on top of their website?? There’s still hundreds of boxes left!! I remember Wonderbox told me that the box balance on the website is pretty accurate. You know what? I am so lazy to argue with them that I let them off. I’m fed up of being taichi-ed all the time.

Before I even tell you the story of my supposed-to-receive September 2013 box, let me just show you the not-so-great October 2013 edition.

Wonderbox October 2013_1
Here’s the thing about September 2013 edition box. What I know is, Wonderbox decided to do a “bumper” box in October in conjunction with their anniversary hence they will be skipping September box. I’m not sure if the plan is a go or no go because there was no black and white on the bumper box except for this email that was sent to all subscribers.

In the email you will find that those that are expecting the September box will get additional two full size products namely Neutrogena Ageless Essence and Bloop’s new nail strip kit as a token of appreciation.

Wonderbox October 2013_6
With that email I would expect the usual numbers of sample PLUS the two additional full size products but here’s what I find in the box. Do you see what I see? There’s no excitement with the products in it, there’s no extra samples although I do see that two full size. These two “additional” had become a replacement of the existing samples, making the numbers of sample in the box exactly the same as usual box!

There goes the excitement after waiting for 2 months.

Wonderbox October 2013_2
I’m not going to elaborate on each product because I felt that it’s not necessary this time so I’m just going to list down the product name and ml of it.

Nail It! With Bloop (Sticker style unknown)

Neutrogena Ageless Anti-Wrinkle & Firming Essence 30g

Wonderbox October 2013_3
If it’s without those two “additional” products, the content would be just as pathetic as this.

Bio-Essence Nourishing Foamy Cleanser 30g, Bio-Essence Radiant Youth Essence 5ml, Bio-Essence Face Lifting Cream 10g.

Urrggghhhh!! I hate Bio-Essence so so much. You know these three will be ended up where right? I’m just going to bundle it in blog sale 😀

Wonderbox October 2013_4
Last but not least, RA8 Renewal Skin Creme (ml unknown).

Wonderbox October 2013_5
Whenever a beauty box sent out a bad box I will usually tell you girls to just give them some time to get better sponsors and so on. I notice that I’ve been saying the same thing every single month without fail on Wonderbox. I have come to a point where I couldn’t be bothered anymore. I don’t know what happen to the best box in town. Wonderbox is my first ever beauty box after Fabulous Finds ceased operation. I remember all the wonderful boxes that Wonderbox sent out. What happen to that box that I love so much? Recent boxes has been nothing but a repeat of Ginvera, Bio-Essence and Neutrogena. I know my box is redeemed using points so I shouldn’t complain much but seriously I would not pay for a box full with these repeat drug store brand unless I want to pay this type of minimal fee for a box full with drug store brand so that I won’t need to buy at retail price. Other than this reason I can’t find any better reason anymore.

I love the people behind Wonderbox very much but it is sad to admit that I finally gave up on Wonderbox. I also notice that it is the only beauty box that are getting lesser attention or mention nowadays and to my surprise they are okay with it. Whenever someone ask me to recommend a box I can only think of MIVVA, Vanity Trove or even Bag Of Love. Do bear in mind that this is merely just my own personal opinion on Wonderbox and you are to make your own judgement on it and yes, I am well aware that this review is kinda harsh to Wonderbox and that they might hate me after this.

Anyone managed to snag Wonderbox October 2013 Edition too? Tell me what you think 🙂

Ahh Wonderbox. It has been quite some time since I last talk about Wonderbox. It is a beauty box that I seldom review or talk about nowadays. I find them not interesting lately which is a surprise because they started off on the right foot and keeps getting better until they fell off the bandwagon. Up till now.

As for me…I fell off Wonderbox bandwagon since the February 2013 edition. I don’t know. The box is not the worse but the oomph is not there. The worse box should be the Murad box which is the March 2013 edition. Follow by the May 2013 edition which is the Ginvera box that I hated very much. See the drill? It just keep going downhill for me.

I heard that July 2013 box is good and I do have lots of points in my account therefore I redeemed a box. Well, let’s just say I imagine the good, told the worse but in real it was ok-ok. Here’s July 2013 edition.

Wonderbox61

This will not be a very long review so I will just summarize everything ok?

The content for July 2013 edition is as below. There is no price stated on the product description card this time round.
(1) Full Size Beautymate Purifying and Hydrating Nano Toner 120ml
(2) Full Size Bloop Lip Liner Pencil
(3) Full Size b.liv Stem Cell Revival Feel No Sluggish Mask
(4) Full Size Ginvera Green Tea Jade Dark Eye Circles Roll Away 15ml
(5) Nu Teen Acne & Pimples Away Cleanser 30g
(6) Ma Cherie Air Feel Shampoo Sachet 12ml & Air Feel Conditioner Sachet 12ml
(7) Nu Teen Acne Away Gel Sachet 3g x 2
(8) Nu Teen Blackheads Away Gel Sachet 5g x 2
(9) Nu Teen Acne & Pimples Away Sleeping Mask 3g

What I Like

The amount of product included is actually not very little but I totally detest sachet. My requirement for beauty box is NOT full size but I would expect deluxe size. NO SACHET PLEASE. I think I am considered quite lenient on the whole beauty box thing because I never expect full size in beauty box like every other people but I do expect deluxe, not sachet.

What I Don’t Like

Before this I don’t have delivery issue with GDex but this box have been stuck in GDex for 2 days. The status from GDex online tracking stated there’s no one at home. Once again I have no idea why courier would simply make a conclusion that my parent is not at home despite they themself did not send the parcel at all. Our family always make sure there is someone at home. We are never all out at the same time. Never. After my complain call to GDex, they follow up with a status call a few hours later and inform me that the courier is on the way. Which they did not lie. For this, I give them a star.
I heard that Wonderbox subscribers for June edition received the same Beautymate toner as this month. I was lucky cause I did not redeem any box in June so I don’t get the same toner from the same box for 2 consecutive month. I would be pissed if I get the same toner again. However I do get this exact toner from MIVVA July 2013 Edition last month which is okay for me since it’s different box. Recycle brand and the same product for 2 consecutive month is a no-no for me.

Conclusion

I do understand the mode of business for Wonderbox which is what makes them different from every other box available. I have been hearing from various people that Wonderbox is leaning more towards the mass market. I never agree with that until recently. I do see that’s where Wonderbox is heading. But with the new subscription rate I would think it’s not relevant for me to get it, as for the same amount of money I can actually get other box.
Despite the fact that Nu Teen is from Ginvera company but as long as I don’t get ALL GINVERA then I’m fine. There’s one point of time where I wanted to purchase Nu Teen as I keep having break out. So seeing Nu Teen in the box is alright for me.
I do hope to see the old Wonderbox again. I miss all that wonderful unboxing experience.

I’m backkkkkk (to beauty box)! 😀

I knew I couldn’t stay far for too long. Yes my room is still that congested with beauty products here and there and I’m using as fast as I can. Now that I’m back, let’s start with Wonderbox shall we?

I didn’t tell Wonderbox that I wanted to review their May 2013 edition so I still don’t get boxes from them. It’s a good thing that I have Wonderpoints. Earlier in May I had a chat in whatsapp with the owner of Wonderbox. I ask him what is the theme for May box and he said Mother’s Day. So I assume it’s going to be older brands that existed during our mother’s time? Or maybe brands that are long in the market? Here is the box that I was randomly sent.

Errmm. If previously we have 80% Murad this time we have 90% Ginvera. I hate Ginvera. I couldn’t stress enough how much I hated every brand under that company. Hate hate hate.

Wonderbox56

The one and only product that I absolutely are happy to see in my box is the FULL SIZE Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Concentrate Sleeping Pack 50g (RM59.88). Normally I don’t use anything until I photograph everything. This one is exceptional. I’ve already used it earlier last week.

As skin cell renew at night, this product is formulated with “Progressive Release System” to continuously release intensive moisture throughout the night. Contains purified Hyaluronic acid, Olive extract and Ionic Mineral complex that helps enhance skin translucency, firms up skin and reduces fine lines so that you wake up to amazingly hydrated, soft and supple skin in the morning.

– Dermatologist tested
– Allergy tested
– Oil-free
– Non-comedogenic

Wonderbox57
The second full size product included is Bio-Essence Radiant Youth Essence with ATP 20g (RM55.88). This is going to my auntie who is a big fan of Bio-Essence. Initially this is for mum but mum wanted the goodies in my drawer. Mum sure know how to choose eh?

Contains 95% pure Green Tea extract, which carries strong anti-oxidant properties, to reduce free radical damage to skin cells that are responsible for skin aging.Nourishes skin with precious herbal ingredients and minerals to achieve more refined and radiant skint. Fine molecules penetrate deep into skin to allow quick absorption of essence without any feeling of oiliness, this locks in moisture, keeps skin hydrated and soft.

Wonderbox58
And the third last (yes last) item in the box is a trial size of Ginvera Green Tea Whitening Marvel Gel 8ml.

Zero Blackhead in 1 Step!

10 Amazing Efficacies
1) Rubs away deep layers of dead skin cells
2) Rubs away blackheads painlessly
3) Contracts pores for refined skin (As dead skin cells have been cleared from pores)
4) Lightens black spots, freckles & scars
5) Removes oil seeds
6) Regulates sebum secretion to prevent pimples
7) Brightens dull complexion
8) Changes dark, rough skin to smooth skin
9) Whitens skin as it gives way to new born skin
10) Enhances quick absorption of skin care products

Basically the whole box only contain 3 items – 2 full sizes and 1 trial size. There’s also a few complimentary products included. One of them is this sample pack by Ginvera that contain a Ginvera Green Tea Whitening Marvel Gel 5g sachet and Ginvera Green Tea Ultimate Sun Shield SPF56 PA++ 3g sachet.

Wonderbox59
More on the complimentary products in the box.

1) Le Scenteur Whitening Hand & Body Lotion 70g
2) Le Scenteur EDT vial
3) Murad T-Zone Pore Refining Gel 3.7ml
4) Senze Studio RM 50 Discount Voucher

Wonderbox60
If I am a Ginvera/Bio-Essence fan I would love this box content to death but unfortunately I am not due to personal reasons. Judging from the product description card I sort of guessed that this is a Ginvera box? Because Wonderbox never do just 3 items (minus the complimentary). Wonderbox do full, fill to the top boxes! The one and only item that I am happy to get is Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Concentrate Sleeping Pack. It smells heavenly and give me toing toing face the next morning. I won’t elaborate much on the sleeping pack because I’ll review the product real soon.

As for the extras I was told it is not curated. Wonderbox just randomly pack the extras so it really depends on your luck. I guessed I was the unlucky one because I got Murad instead of Pangea Organics. I would be more happier if I had gotten the Pangea Organics instead. Wonderbox did offer to send me the Pangea Organics but I just want to get it off my chest that’s all LOL.

Do I like it? Nope. Sorry but nope. It’s too drugstore for me. I appreciate that there’s a few full sizes and not to mention the extras but 90% of the products in the box are not products that I will use. This is just a personal preference.

Another thing to note. Wonderbox had increased their subscription rate from RM39.90 per month to RM45 per month. If previously there’s no WonderPoints for 1 month subscription, there is now. But every other packages now comes with lesser WonderPoints.

Wonderbox Monthly Beauty Box subscription is available for subscription at www.wonderbox.com.my
Fee: RM45 for 1 Month with 100 WonderPoints, RM135 for 3 Months with 300 WonderPoints, RM270 for 6 Months with 900 WonderPoints, RM540 for 1 Year with 2000 WonderPoints

Disclaimer: The is not a sponsored review. I redeemed for a box using my WonderPoints.
