Not many people know this but I used to own a car forum (which the name I choose not to disclose) and the theme of the forum is hornet. I remembered I had headache thinking of an online name and I came up with QueenBee! Makes perfect sense…the forum theme is hornet and I’m the owner of the hive :). Throughout the years I collected numerous bee merchandize and recently I went through my stash for this review. I thought bee candle looked nicer than fresh tamarind heee!
Mekhala Singapore is kind enough to send me their Tamarind Facial Cleanser to try last week. I was pretty excited as I absolutely love skin care and cleanser is something I always stock up. There is a quest in me to discover and try as many cleanser as I can and that include brands that are not available here in Malaysia.

Mekhala Tamarind Facial Cleanser is a soothing facial cleanser that removes even waterproof make up. True to its brand mission of mindfulness and healthfulness, the Tamarind Facial Cleanser comprises 100% natural ingredients that are as effective as they are gentle.
At one glance of the tube, Tamarind Facial Cleanser consists of Organic Tamarind and Honey as the main ingredient. Tamarind is rich in antioxidant that protect skin against the signs of aging. Honey on the other hand lead it’s natural ability to attract and maintain moisture. It also contain mild natural acids that gently exfoliate dead cells for brighter complexion and Vitamin E so that the skin feels softer and more supple immediately after washing.
I didn’t realize this is a gel cleanser prior before opening the cap. I totally forgotten about what I’ve been reading from their website and I kept seeing the word “cleanser” and assume it’s foaming cleanser! Silly me 🙂
The cleanser appears transparent and colourless on my palm. The scent is sweet like how tamarind and honey should smell. This is one of the nicest smelling natural product I ever sniffed!
Like most gel cleanser…Tamarind Facial Cleanser does lathers up well with just a small amount of product. As people always say less is more. It’s sufficient for me to wash my face in the morning or at night but not for removing makeup. I’d suggest you to dispense more of the cleanser if you are using this as makeup remover ya.
I find that this cleanser live up to what it claimed. It maintained the moisture on my skin that I don’t feel the tightening feel after wash and also my face take a longer time before it starts to oil up. It also cleanse throughly leaving my face squeaky clean and soft :). I also secretly like taking a sniff during wash cause it does smell good and sweet. Afterall…Tamarind is known as asam in Malay.
Tamarind Facial Cleanser is known for soothing and brightening effect and it’s suitable for sensitive skin and for most skin types. The recommended usage is twice a day. It is also safe to use on children too.
Have you tried anything from Mekhala? Mekhala is not a stranger in my blog as I’ve tried before their Black Rice shampoo and conditioner that I received from Vanity Trove February 2012 box.
