While I was searching for info on Invati range last year, I came across something blue that caught my attention right away. It was also during the Aveda Media Launch that I tried Aveda Blue Oil Balancing Concentrate and it gave me this cooling relaxing sensation that made me mellow down in less than 10 seconds.
Finally after so many months I am able to purchase this Blue Oil Balancing Concentrate when I dropped by Aveda Discovery Centre for a Styling Discovery Experience with Adrian.
Aveda Blue Oil Balancing Concentrate is said to relieve stress and dissolve tension while raising energy level thanks to the balancing aroma of refreshing peppermint and soothing blue camomile.
This cutie blue oil is only 7ml so it’s definitely travel-friendly, easy to fit into any pockets or in the tiniest handbag or wallet you have. What I like about this blue oil is that it comes with a rollerball for application. This applicator is different from others. When you roll it on the skin, the oil on the inside doesn’t over-dispense. This is to prevent wastage although I secretly hope that more oil are to be roll out when I am having a migrain.
The oil may look blue in the tube (it’s blue oil anyway) but it doesn’t look blue on the skin. It goes on transparent. Even with the thinnest layer of blue oil, the cooling peppermint sensation is strong enough to relieve any tension or even stiff neck.
Using this is pretty simple. Just roll onto the temple area on both side of the head and roll some on both palm, warm the product and pat onto the shoulder. Almost immediately you can feel the relaxing, cooling sensation. Sometimes I felt sooo sleepy because I was too mellow lol.
The oil is not as oily as the name suggest. The best thing about this blue oil is that it doesn’t smells like some kind of oilment. The smell also doesn’t changes to what resemble grandma oilment haha. It stays as fresh as just applied, as pure peppermint as it can be. Definitely worth the money spent.
Here is the ingredient list.
Aveda Blue Oil Balancing Concentrate works to:-
- Calms body and mind
- Conditions and relaxes scalp
- Eases tired muscles
- Excellent for self-massage
I’ve tried it last week when I was having a migrain upon waking up. This blue oil gave me instant relaxation but unfortunately after a few reapplying it doesn’t totally remove my migrain. That’s what I thought. But I was surprised that when I stop worrying too much if this blue oil works or not, my migrain went off gradually without me realizing while the cooling sensation is still on. I must stress out that this blue oil is not meant for migrain. I was just testing out only 🙂
This is a must-have in my bag. When I feel that the world is getting smaller on me I’ll just roll some blue oil on both of my temple and relax. It works wonderfully every time.
This is the purest and natural cooling, sensory, acupressure therapy that you can get in Malaysia. There’s a very common and famous one in the market for many years that comes in cream but turns oily and smells like grandma after that. Aveda Blue Oil Balancing Concentrate on the other hand? No such thing happens.

Good to learn there is another alternative than Origins Peace-of-Mind
I felt the same too. POM doesn’t works for me. Doesn’t even relax me a bit.
This product sounds interesting.
Just slightly pricier than Origins but works even better.
Sounds perfect for times when we’re really stressed out 🙂 Hopefully will be able to try it out sometime 😀
It’s good. Yesterday morning I woke up with a tired and sore shoulder because I stayed up late to do some coding tweaking and I need to fetch the family out for shopping. So I roll some blue oil on my neck and voila!
Ohh! Can only imagine how soothing it will make you feel. 🙂 but is the smell really overpowering? Thanks for the great review btw 🙂 have not heard about the product till I read about it on your blog 🙂
The smell is not overpowering it all. I hope it is!
Glad that you managed to discover new brand and product here 🙂
