Canmake Event

An Overview of CANMAKE 2013 Spring Look. Are You More of Sweet or Natural Look?

CANMAKE blogger event is the most anticipated event that I was really looking forward to. When I first started with shimmer or glittering eyeshadow makeup CANMAKE is the first brand I go to. The brand CANMAKE is quite huge last time and still is I believe. I have strayed to counter brand recently and this is a really good chance to stray back to good, affordable and not forgetting shimmering Japanese cosmetic.

The event was all about showcasing CANMAKE’s 2013 Spring do with CANMAKE Japan makeup artist that flew in exclusively from Japan. Where else any better to held the event if not at International Beauty Expo 2013 eh? In this post I’m going to share with you two different look that you can easily duplicate at home.

These 3 ladies are from Tokyo Japan. The lady in the middle translate everything to English for us. Before the makeup demo start, she also briefed all of us with some background info on the company and the brand. Meanwhile the lady on the right is the makeup artist.

CANMAKE started off back in 1985 as a brand endorsed by teenagers and young office workers as well as by professional makeup artist. They believe in consistent concept of Cute, High Quality and Reasonable Prices. That is the reason why all CANMAKE new products are frequently reviewed in women magazine. The brand is also popular at their “Word of Mouth Site”. For the past 6 years CANMAKE have expanded into Asian market making their total dominating countries such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, Myanmar and Russia. Although CANMAKE is already providing the “Kawaii” quality to all girls since they started, the future for CANMAKE is to bring Japan quality and “KAWAII” to Asia and the world.

We were shared with the latest makeup trend using CANMAKE cosmetics. There is so much varieties that the products can create. If you can think of it, CANMAKE can create the look with ease. Japanese makeup is more softer and subtle. Eventhough it may seems that the makeup is not as intense as UK or US made products, the look is definitely there.

CANMAKE 2013 Spring – Sweet Look

Judging from the makeup look sheet that was given, the steps are pretty simple although it involves a few steps and product more than a normal do.

Here is the result. Ain’t she look sweet? I especially love the Four Shiny Eyes #13 eyeshadow palette used on the model as (1) it’s in sweet pink + purple, (2) there’s 4-colors in a palette, (3) it’s shimmering! Other products that stirred my interest and curiosity is Eyeshadow Base, Marshmallow Finish Powder, Cream Cheek and Smooth Skin Primer.

CANMAKE 2013 Spring – Natural Look

The step by step for this natural look is not much different from earlier Sweet Look. The whole idea for the look is to create a totally neutral-do without overdoing it. CANMAKE look is all about looking natural.

I personally think that I prefer this Natural look than Sweet. You can see that there’s makeup on the model but also looking “barely there”. It’s interesting. The look emphasis more on the eye area. Brown eyeliner were used instead of black so that it’s not too overpowering. Afterall this is indeed a natural-do.

The product used to create this look that I’m looking forward to get my hands on soon is the Smooth Liquid Foundation, Shading Powder, Brown Eyeliner, Stay-on Balm Rouge and GOKUBUTO mascara. The Shading Powder is surprisingly easy to use. You can’t really over contour your face with this, which is what I like. I can be too heavy handed with contouring powder sometimes 🙂

For both look the makeup artist also uses Kira Kira (Super Glitter Liner) which translate back as glittery or shiny in English for the inner corner of the eyes. It is also another product that I’m looking forward to because by adding Kira Kira to the makeup, the eyes seems like it “woke up” instantly.

I have these Canmake cosmetics with me which I can barely swatch because it’s just too pretty to look at. Which one are you looking forward to a review? 😉
