Just in case you are wondering why is there no beauty box review last month up till to date. I am actually on beauty box break which means I will not be getting any beauty boxes for review at the moment until I am able to recuperate from all the overwhelming products laying around my room. I will still subscribe here and there as gifts but nothing for me.

This review is exceptional. I couldn’t say no to Vanity Trove. I’m a fan of…their drawer box *grin*. But of course besides the great hardworking people behind it and I admire how they work. I’m also in the midst of collecting their box to form a vanity drawer unit. Now that explains it 🙂

The May 2013 Edition was themed as Awesome Wholesome. The name rhymes I know. But Awesome Wholesome is all about organic. This would be the first ever box full with organic products that I ever received. I must say I’m pretty stoked with the content so far.

You kept asking for full size?? You got it. In this month’s edition we get to see a full size product from a well-known hair care brand in the market – Schwarzkopf.

FULL SIZE Schwarzkopf Essensity Natural Shine Serum 50ml (RM56 / 50ml)

Say goodbye to frizzy, flyaway hair! This feather-light serum gives a natural velvet shine to your hair surfaces, smoothes your tresses and tames the unruliest mane around. The Essensity Natural Shine Serum contains a combination of organic essences of Sesame and Olive oils to improve the quality of hair texture for easy maintenance.

I used to hate receiving hair care products in my beauty box because I keep receiving the same products. Now this is something different. I never say no to hair treatment products like this especially when it’s Schwarzkopf. I have and am currently using Schwarzkopf hair treatment every morning before I go to work. A few of them actually. Schwarzkopf make good hair products and it suits me very well.

FULL SIZE  Tilley Goat Milk Soap (RM12 / Single or RM26 / Twin-Pack)

Here’s a neat treat for your body and skin. The body bar are wonderfully creamy in texture and provide gentle cleansing on sensitive skin. With its ingredients sourced directly from the purest Australian Goat Milk Farm, these soap bars are chemical-free. What’s more, they are further enriched with skin conditioning Organic Shea Butter, Organic Jojoba Oil and Organic Cocoa Butter.

This would be the 2nd full size product in May edition. Although it is made from pure goat milk…it doesn’t smell anything close to it. In fact I thought that it smells darn good for a goat’s milk. The good thing is it’s affordable too.

Another full size! Wow. I have been using Avene Thermal Spring Water for many years. I would normally haul boxes of them from Avene yearly warehouse sales without fail. Although not recommended, I put a bottle in my car away from direct sunlight. I use this especially when the weather is hot while driving. Cools the body down a lot.

Pure South Organic Body Lotion with Fresh Goat’s Milk [ml unstated] (RM59 / 255ml)

Moisturise and nourish your skin with Pure South Organic Body Lotion with Fresh Goat’s Milk. Scented with native Australian plant extracts and pure essentials, the Vitamin A and D-rich lotion is effective for treating dry and distressed skin conditions. The lotion also contains rose oil and Rosella extracts that stimulate metabolism for optimal skin cell renewal.

There is an obvious rose scent from the lotion as it is infused with rose oil. I am a fan of anything that smells like a rose. Same with the soap bar earlier, this doesn’t smell anything close to goat’s milk so you can be assured of that. One thing good about product made from goat’s milk is how light the texture is. It dries down matte so it’s not sticky at all. This is good to carry around in the handbag.

Heaven On Earth Essential Oil – Lavender 1.5ml (RM50 / 5ml)

This essential oil is made of steam distilled Lavandula Angustifolia flowers of a French origin. An essential oil that addresses every household’s health needs, it can be inhaled or applied on the skin. It helps to promote sleep, balance and tone skin, reduce anxiety and aches, soothes insect bites and provides a relaxing and soothing inner calm.

This essential oil can be applied directly on the skin. I have heard a lot about Lavender oil in helping with sleeping problem or in promoting a better sleep. Most probably I am going to use this to help me to sleep better at night. I don’t have insomnia problem but I often wakes up a few times middle of the night due to stress from day time.

This month there is two more voucher included. First one is a HiShop RM25 discount cash voucher for a minimum RM50 purchase. Not too bad. At least it’s not for RM100 and above 🙂

Next voucher is something which I don’t fancy. Sorry! Mary Chia Complimentary 4-In-1 Body Detoxification Therapy worth RM400 for 60 minutes. I am not into free treatment kind of person because I’m scared of pushy sales after that. I haven’t try Mary Chia before so I cannot tell you much.

And here is this month’s product description card. I notice that there is a lot of products featured in the card. Could it be because some of the subscribers are getting a different product / variant in their box?

Vanity Trove…what a MAJOR improvement! The box smells so good even before I slide the drawer out. I like this month’s theme and all the organic products in the box. I’m quite surprised that organic products can smell this good. Everything is new to me except for Avene but it’s okay. I’m happy with the product selection and the sizes. Having to source and get all organic products are so hard. That’s because there is not much organic products in the market, yet.

I also notice that VT changed to a new courier service company; TA-Q-BIN. Actually since last month but because the trove was handed to me by hand so I didn’t say anything about it. Delivery was very prompt and efficient. I received the parcel the next day after delivery.
