I am a little lazy when it comes to anti-ageing thanks to my oily skin. Not sure if you are aware that people who have oily skin are commonly known to have no wrinkle if not lesser. I am too caught up with combating excessive oil secretion and lightening acne marks that I have neglected anti-ageing. It’s about time I started on anti-ageing…afterall I’m not young anymore 😛

Anti-ageing is more than just wrinkle on the face. When you age your skin will age too. The signs of ageing is quite common such as having fine lines, wrinkle, lost of collagen, lost of elasticity, lost of firming and lost of hydration. The question that I get people asking all the time is what age is the right age to start anti-ageing skin care regime. I believe one should start using anti-ageing products in the 20s. Please keep in your mind that starting anti-ageing products in the 20s is only damage prevention not damage reversal. You will then notice that you will need different product in your 20s, 30s, 40s and so on.

“Reversing the ageing process is an illusion, but slowing it down is a reality”

The most misconception about anti-ageing product is reversing the ageing process. There is no way you can reverse the ageing but slowing ageing process is a much more feasible fact. With so many different brand and products in the market on anti-ageing, it is almost impossible to say which is the best. But there is just ONE that uses the light energy and convert this energy into cellular energy for anti-ageing action. This special one is Talika.

A few months ago Talika launches their first ever skin care line – Photo-Beauty Therapy®. Before using any Photo-Beauty Therapy® skin care products, it is best to start the regime by preparing the skin using The Light Essence Cellular Activator. This product acts like a correction curve or as an “equalizer” that will take a few seconds to RESET all cell counters to zero and at the same time The Light Essence will also boost the youthfulness process in the epidermis layer.

Once the cell counters is reset to zero, the skin is more prepared and able to receive and transmit all the benefits from daily skin care. This product works hand-in-hand with any Photo-Beauty Therapy® especially.

Only 1 full pump is needed for the whole face and neck. If you like you can apply 2 full pumps. Up to you. As usual I am always generous with my skin care. I started off with 2 pumps then realized that 1 pump is actually sufficient. The product liquid is quite watery, almost like a toner. It has a clear color and has a faint scent to it that is not too overpowering. The scent went off a few second after that. The amazing thing about The Light Essence is that it is much more lighter in texture comparing to toner. It’s not sticky and absorb in right away.

The Light Essence Cellular Activator contains Photo-Beauty Enzyme® (PBE) that transforms light for an anti-ageing action. It’s function is not just an activator alone. It also brighten the complexion thus eliminating the intensity of dark spots. PBE also helps to go deep into the skin and regenerate as well as protects the skin’s DNA. As I said earlier our skin will also lost it’s moisture due to ageing. This product contain hyaluronic acid, vegetal glycerin, rose water and gentle fruit acids to help hydrate the skin and relieves any discomfort.

I personally feels that this bottle plays an important role of what I’ve experienced during the 2 weeks trial of using this anti-ageing line. It is very difficult for me to explain or show you what this does because you don’t see much from using this alone. I “feel” a huge difference using this product before Photo-Beauty Therapy Anti-Ageing products. It’s like everything falls into the right places and speeds up the benefit of my skin care products. See I told you I find it hard to explain haha 😀

Photo-Beauty Therapy® Anti-Ageing Serum – RM229 / 30ml

You’ve guessed it. This Anti-Ageing Serum is of course activated by light. This serum combines the benefits of PBE but with a recognized complex of active ingredients that are used to treat all signs of ageing such as wrinkles, loss of firmness, skin refinement, dehydration and many more.

Talika said that there is an increase of collagen by 19.9% after 14 days of use. Continue using the serum for a good 4 weeks and you will find the signs of ageing that are visibly reduced.

The serum is extremely light weighted. I only use 2 full pumps despite having an urge to use 3 full pumps. I’m quite happy with just 2 pumps for now as it’s sufficient enough for the whole face and neck. What I like about this serum is the velvety matte finishing. My skin just drink up to this serum all at once in less than a few seconds! This serum also have a faint scent to it. It’s quite pleasant on the nose don’t worry.

Photo-Beauty Therapy® Anti-Ageing Serum also contains PBE that transform light into cellular energy. I’m not sure about you but this technology impressed me very much. PBE also helps to regenerate the skin’s DNA as well as protecting it. It contains adenosine, tetra-peptide and soya beans that acts as anti-wrinkle and gives my skin the firming needed. I thought I smell a rosey scent in the serum because it is infused with rose hip oil and vegetal glycerin that moisturizes the skin. My skin loves glycerin. Whenever I used any skin care products that are with glycerin, my skin turns baby soft.

The texture turns watery upon spreading across my face. It is extremely moisturizing without giving that stickiness and oiliness to my face. I was advised to use this in the morning and the cream at night, after The Light Essence of course :). My skin care regime changed a lot ever since I’m using Photo-Beauty Therapy® Anti-Ageing line. What I didn’t really expect is how less oilier my face is now. Perhaps due to the fact that I layer on lesser skin care and the fact that Photo-Beauty Therapy® products gives me that velvety finishing which is a heaven-sent to my oily skin. I got to knock my own head for delaying this journey. Should have started earlier :P. I know Cindy will be laughing and said “I told you so” when she read this lol!

Photo-Beauty Therapy® Anti-Ageing Cream – RM229 / 50ml

Just like Anti-Ageing Serum, this Anti-Ageing Cream is also activator by light and best to used after The Light Essence Cellular Activator. This cream gives the skin a new youthfulness, thanks to the synergy of PBE and anti-wrinkle, firming, energising and repairing active ingredients that are with recognized efficacy.

The claim by Talika after 14 days of usage is as the Serum. Users will notice the collagen increase by 19.9% and visibly reduced signs of ageing after 4 weeks of continuous use.

Although this is a cream I must say the texture is like a “pudding” that bounces right up when touches from the jar. It is slightly thicker than the serum. Extremely moisturizing that almost feels like water as it melts on my face right away. Most cream that I used is thicker and creamier. This one? Not at all. I like to be generous with this cream as I’m only using it as night routine as advised by Talika. It also have a faint scent to the cream but not strong.

I’m using a different application method for this line especially. For the cream I like to dot onto both my cheeks, chin, both temple and forehead then using only fingers spread and massage all over the face. Notice that I didn’t mention about dotting on the nose? Because the application that I’m practicing will eventually bring the cream over my nose :). After that I’ll press both palm on my face starting from inner to outer of my face follow by gentle patting. I find the patting works better for me to “push” the product penetration into the skin.

Photo-Beauty Therapy® Anti-Ageing Cream also contain PBE benefits, same with Anti-Ageing Serum and The Light Essence. The ingredient used for the cream is slightly different than the serum despite producing the same benefit. Adenosine, walnut seed and soya beans are used as anti-wrinkle and firming action. Shea butter and vegetal glycerin is used to provide intensive nourishing moisturizing and repairs the epidermis layer of the skin.

I must admit. I am particularly nervous about writing this review because I only will review and publish the blog post if I can see the result and captured it. Anti-ageing is tricky for me. It is not as easy as whitening. I don’t have visible problem to start with. But I still take a before and after picture for comparison. Let me clarify here. Feeling good and capturing the efficacy of the product is hard. I may feel and see it on the mirror but often my camera doesn’t agree with me. Little did I know, there is a difference with the Before and After that my camera managed to captured *pat camera*. It’s not an obvious one because as I said earlier I don’t have visible problem to start with. I can definitely see the brightening, firmness and lifting. Look at my cheek line on the after :). No wrinkle action here as I have none yet *touch wood*. On the “feel” side I definitely can differentiate the difference as my face is more bouncy. I guess my DNA is regenerated and collagen level has increased eh? 🙂

There is absolutely no allergy developing or even breakout. None of those. These product texture are so light. Barely feel any on my skin after applying. My skin has always love glycerin and I’m glad there is glycerin in this range.

I wanted to talk more about anti-ageing for 20s, 30s, 40s and so on but this post is already so lengthy that if I do that you might fall asleep lol :D. I guess I’ll talk about that in another time?
