I’ve always wanted to get your opinion on this.
Recently I finish up a few lipstick but that’s just until the phase where I no longer can twist the bullet up. I do realize there’s more lipstick hidden at the bottom. I was so close to throw them away but the guilty feeling sank in so I keep it back into the drawer. I don’t have the time luxury to use a lip brush and it’s not so convenient for me when I’m out and the fact that I have just too much lipstick lying around.
What would you do if you were in my shoe? Should I just throw them away?

My thoughts on this is.
Throw them away!
I guess you have a lot of lippie so no heart ache over these. If applying with a lip brush while on the go is not convenient for you. Why bother to?
Happy Monday 🙂
Happy Monday Sarah!
Was about to throw them away LOL. But felt a bit sayang to do so. I do have a lot of lippie which I have yet to use. Dilemma 🙁
DIY your own lip balm with vaseline out of the leftover colors! I guess that’s your favorite colors that’s why you feel sayang to throw it. I will feel that too >.<
No harm to give it a try before you really make up your mind to throw it away.
I have lots of lip balm too! lol. I used to dip my pinky fingers in last time ahahaha. This is Dior. A bit wasted to throw 🙂
If it is a favourite shade (esp. discontinued) then I would totally use a lip brush.
Or scrape out and add to a little pot of vaseline lip jelly and blend in well for a DIY lip gloss.
To be honest, it’s more trouble keeping a lipstick nub then letting it go so I wouldn’t do it for every tube. Only my favourite ones.
Or, get rid of the old to make room for the new! My mum always says that if things were meant to last forever there would be no malls. Think of it as keeping all those lipstick makers/ sellers in a job.
Hmmm then I should throw :P. All the colors are permanent range 😀
I like the concept of getting rid of the old to make room for the new lol. I wanted to get more Burberry Lip Velvet which is why I’m trying so hard to finish off current lipstick hehe.
wow, i never seem to finish my lipsticks before its expiry date. but if i ever do, i would scoop up into an empty old but cleaned eyeshadow case, and use my fingers to apply. i have lip brushes but never used them, now they are used as concealer brush! does the Clinique Chubby Stick remain pencil stick sharp after many uses? or does it become flat like the pic above?
Nah, the Clinique Chubby Stick doesn’t stay pencil stick sharp after many uses. It will look like Chubby Stick for Eye. The flat top like the picture is because I’ve reached the bottom of the plastic holder 🙂
I usually throw them away but the only lipstick that I have used up so far is from Revlon. I can understand that it would be difficult to throw you lovely Dior ones. I guess you will have to cut out sentimentality when it comes to lipsticks that have been used up 🙂
If it’s Maybelline, Revlon or L’Oreal I would throw them away without any hesitation haha. Dior is a bit hard 😛
I’m trying to console myself that I have a lot of lipstick to use :). Must throw. Must throw.
Totally no!! If its a lipstick that you’ll use until the end means you like it a lot. What you can do is use a clean satay stick to dig it out and put into a container or contact lens container, melt it to spread evenly, then freeze it in the freeze. The next day, you can have a brand new lipstick like blam in the container!
You also can be creative and mix and match with a few lipstick colour to make your own lipstick colour!
Good idea! Although I would prefer to apply directly from the bullet 😀
Hmmm perhaps I should dig all 3 out and melt them together hah!
Hehe, I am one of those thrift users who will tilt the bottle till I get the last drop of product goodness 🙂 I know most girls would not go to that extent. Actually, if you really love the shade, then I guess keeping it and use with a brush is a good idea. Only thing is, because of the extra effort, the near empty product might just be lying around and occupy space and dust.
Actually I’d also tilt the bottle till I get every last drop too! No harm in doing that cause everything is so expensive nowaday 😀
When it comes to lipstick then it’s a dilemma. I seriously don’t like using lip brush. Still toying with the idea of melting into a pill container and dip my fingers in when I need to use haha
Hmm ok…quite a bit of effort to transport the remnants to another container. Ahh, save the effort and time, we go shop for new lipstick and yumcha hahahaha!
I like this comment! LET’S GO! Actually I do intend to pick up one or two lipstick. I was so into red that I started to miss fuchsia pink as mine finished (the Dior on the far right). Need fuchsia pink. Need fuchsia pink. Need fuchsia pink 🙂
my mom will use the q-tips to reach untill the bottom lipstick. i think i need to buy her a lip brush
Yes, a lip brush would be better as your mum could just apply onto the lips directly. Q-tip is also not a bad idea to scoop the lipstick out 😉
