With a handful beauty box subscription services available here in Malaysia, one would think it’s a crazy decision to launch another beauty box into the market especially after bidding farewell to three beauty box namely Fabulous Finds, BBF and the most recent one would be CosmoBox. Not to say it’s totally cray cray to launch one now. To me the identity and direction of each beauty box is what makes the difference between each box.

A few days ago I found out that there will be a new beauty box make available in Malaysia which was targeted to launch on 11th November 2013, which was yesterday by the way :D. BeauBox is armed and set to be the world’s 1st full sized beauty subscription box that promises a minimum of 4 full-size products monthly. Let me tempt you further with first hand info on this new exciting beauty box 😀

“Beau” is a French word for Beautiful. It also mean Beauty in short so BeauBox simply mean Beauty Box. If you read a similar sentence elsewhere means someone copied my idea. Let me tell you why. All along I know Beau in French means beautiful and I double confirm that with google. But Beau doesn’t mean beauty, according to google dictionary on multiple sources. I figure out myself that Beauty is the short for Beautiful in order for me to link the word BeauBox to Beauty Box so there’s no way other people can figure out that beauty is also the meaning of Beau ;). It’s not close!

BeauBox is not only the world’s first beauty box in the world that promises a minimum of 4 full-size products but it is also the first beauty box that named it’s box Beauty Box, but in a chic way.

Kelvin Tan, the Founder & Executive Director of BeauBox International said that the birth of the box doesn’t come easy as he spent 2 years studying the industry before the box is ready to be launched to the market. He envision BeauBox to be different from the rest of the current market player. It is always his desire to evolve beyond sample boxes. BeauBox is more than just a beauty box subscription service. It is a combination of subscriber’s brand of personal beauty and BeauBox brand of professional formulas. What this means is that BeauBox creates a bridge for the philosophy of “Beauty without Boundaries” and emphasis on sourcing for the best beauty balm to colour correctors from Korea or even innovative formulation from Italy and colour pigments from the Asia.

Are You Ready For The Next Evolution?

We now know that BeauBox offers a minimum of 4 full-size products in each month’s box. Some of you in Facebook are already asking if there is any sample or deluxe sizes accompanying the full sizes. The answer is NO. BeauBox mission is to want their subscribers to try, learn to use the products and enjoy the journey of it because to them that is how they define a true sampling experience through full size products. So you will only be expecting full size products :). I suppose this will be “the box” for those that are constantly asking and demanding full size products in a beauty box.

The Box

BeauBox’s box is environmental friendly that their current box uses recyclable material. The intention of this box design is of course reusable as storage box, gift box and one more…as a tissue box. I didn’t do this to my box but if you notice the love shape dotted line? Just pop that out and voilà! Do keep in mind not to throw away the heart shape as this card will allow you to join exclusive Beauty Workshops :D. Brilliant idea isn’t it? 😀

The surface of the box is matte with beauty related spot UV stamps all over the box. I say it’s really girly girl and I kinda like the way it is. Kelvin, the Founder said that he intend to change the box every 6 months. That’s another feature to look forward to 😉

The Debut Box – BeauBox “Bare Beauty”

BARE-YOUR-SOUL. These three words are to encourage everyone to express their individuality. It is also based on these three words that BeauBox came up with “Bare Beauty”, the theme for it’s debut box.

The box is really not that big. It is a nice box size to fit in 4-full size products, all wrapped up in a soft colour tissue. BeauBox don’t just include a product description card. They do it in a different way. I get a A4 size paper, all rolled up like a scroll with a detail info and explanation of the theme on one side with all product description on the other side. The paper is spacious enough to fit in larger pictures and detail description of each product.

The Debut Box Content

The products are all wrapped up in soft colour tissue with BeauBox brand logo sticker securing the ends together. As the world’s first full-sized subscription box, there’s nothing else to expect but full size products of course! 😀

BeauBox “Bare Beauty” debut box is a box that give all the essential product to accentuate and highlight individuality. It’s a box of encouragement for you to express your authentic self. As I said earlier, there are a minimum of 4 full-size products in each month’s box. Means it can go more than that. Anyhow let’s focus on the debut box “Bare Beauty” aight?

The actual value for “Bare Beauty” is RM595 or £115 but the box that you see below is valued at RM546 as there is one item that is not included as per the newsletter included. Here’s the list of full size products in the debut box.

All product except for Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush is especially created for BeauBox, which pretty much self-explained on why we have never seen or heard the brand and product before. Rays Of Light Supreme Radiance Serum (RM229 / 30ml)

This serum is said to be a magical elixir that delivers phyto skin brighteners into the skin, reversing and repairing UV damage as well as to counter over-melanin production. It is a high performance radiance serum which ensure it’s users that the ingredients is able to make it’s way into deeper layers of the skin.

Product is Made in USA.

The Stare Palette Eye Contouring Kit (RM149 / 12g)

At the beginning I over-looked the name and pronounced it as the “star” palette but soon realized it’s actually stare :D. This is a 6-colours combination palette which is packaged in a travel friendly light-weight packaging. As the name Eye Contouring Kit suggest, this palette offers colour combination shades that contour, shade, highlight as well as accentuates the eyes. This will be a decent palette to create that sultry, seducing, smokey eyes look.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush in Cranberry (RM69 / 2.5g)

The brand itself is not new in Malaysia and this will be my first Jelly Pong Pong. I like that this product is named as Lip Blush instead of Lip Stain or Lip Stick and they have a good reason for it. I know this looked familiar but I would still want to tell you what this is because it is different in a way. This Lip Blush is a moisturizing lip stain that serves as a usual lip stick and it also “tint” your lips, giving your lips that color even after the lipstick faded. Lip Blush is said to hydrate lips like a balm all thanks to beeswax and ceresin wax ingredient in it. You can also use this product as cheek stain or as cream blush. I assume that’s why it was named as Lip Blush 🙂

Wonder Powder Intuitive Mineral Foundation in Nearly Nude
(RM79 / 6g)

Wonder Powder is a loose mineral foundation powder and this serves as a powder to reduce any imperfection on the skin as well as to give a radiant and luminous glow at the same time. The powder is formulated with skin-compatible minerals which intuitively create a natural dimensional finishing on the skin without over doing it. The powder gives a silky matte finish that helps to control excessive oil secretion thus eliminating the unwanted shine. Wonder Powder also comes with UVA/UVB ray protection with it’s SPF15. It is also talc-free which is good as it won’t clog any pores and skin congestion.
