What attract me to Hada Labo shelf in the drugstore is the packaging. I’m a fan of the color white especially when it comes to beauty related stuff, just like the blog layout. I thought it looked clean :D. Another distinctive attraction of the brand Hada Labo is all the Japanese writing on the front tube of the bottle or tube. It’s like a mystery as I can’t read Japanese but somehow attracted to it. The Japs make good skin care and makeup don’t you think so? 😉
Asian skin type and need are unique and different due to the climate and environment surrounding. Hada Labo recognized these differences and came up with different types of cleanser previously for example Moisturizing Face Wash, es Foaming Wash, AHA/BHA Cleansing and Whitening Face Wash. Just last month Hada Labo launched three new face wash products, and so I was sent these Hada Labo New Face Wash to try out. Maybe Hada Labo sense that I was running out of cleanser eh?
Just the other day I was telling my friends over Facebook that I wash my face three times a day and my friend said it’s too much. I disagree, because I have oily skin and my three times of washing only include morning after waking up, double cleanse after removing makeup and just before I go to sleep. These three times are the main face washing that I can’t skip, or I’ll end up with a face that I could even fried up an egg lol.
Washing your face not only remove excess oil secretion on the surface but also remove impurities, accumulated dirt and dead skin cells. Skip this routine and you will end up with not only a dirty yucky face but dull and lifeless skin. I guess you don’t need me to tell you that whatever skin care that you apply are pretty much useless as the dirt layer on the skin surface will prevent all the skin care benefits from penetrating into the skin.
I will be doing an overall review on all three face wash namely Hydra & Whitening Face Wash, Deep Clean & Pore Refining Face Wash and Deep Clean & Blemish Control Face Wash because I find that three of them are similar in terms of look, feel and scent but comes with different benefit.
All three cleanser have the same creamy and thick texture. A small pea size is all you need for the whole face so this 100g tube will last you very long. Remember, just a small pea size and not as much as the amount that I squeeze for the picture below 😀
With that small pea size of cleanser, you will be able to get this much of foam. But of course feel free to squeeze more cleanser if a pea size is not enough for you :). It goes on thick and gets thicker as I massages on my face. Rinsing off all the face wash residue take slightly longer time than usual. It’s not that much of an issue actually.
Hada Labo New Face Wash is scentless. It doesn’t contain any fragrance to it. The same scent goes across all three variant. It is also alcohol-free, colorant-free and mineral oil free. Bentonite Clay that has over 70 traces of minerals from natural volcanic ash sediments was added in to these new face wash range as this ingredient will be able to absorb excess oil, dirt and impurities effectively as well as exfoliating dead skin cells, pore cleansing and improving the overall skin texture. Hada Labo is known for it’s iconic hydrating benefit all thanks to Hyaluronic Acid and you can definitely find this ingredient in the face wash. Hyaluronic Acid is the best moisture retention and also in replenishing the skin’s moisture by preserving optimum moisture balance, even in cleansing. Which is why I disagree with my friends that I wash my face too often 😀
Choosing The Right Cleanser For You
Hydra & Whitening Face Wash (RM20.90 / 100ml)
My personal all-time favourite would be Hydra & Whitening Face Wash. If you have dull skin like I do, this is the simple, affordable good cleanser that you might want to try. Although this cleanser also meant for whitening, it is not drying at all. Infact this is also a hydrating cleanser for dry skin. It contain REGU®-FADE aka Resveratrol which is a powerful anti oxidant, skin whitening and brightening. Fucosorb (natural red and brown seaweed extract) helps in skin’s cellular network construction and excellent in moisturizing.
Deep Clean & Pore Refining Face Wash (RM20.90 / 100ml)
I rotate my cleansers so when I’m not using Hydra & Whitening Face Wash, I’ll be reaching for this Deep Clean & Pore Refining Face Wash. I have large pores which contributed to my oily skin so this cleanser helps in deep cleansing, sebum production control, pore refining and overall improving skin appearance. It has Alpaflor Al-Sebum which is a rare Alpine plant which control the skin’s 5α-reductase activity. The result? An less oilier skin with less visible pores. This is usually my cleanser for double cleanser. However I find this cleanser a bit drying especially if I wash my face and went to an air-conditioning room without any moisturizer follow-up. This is the first time I finally feel what most people called the tightening on the face. It’s really uncomfortable but my face oil up in no time so the tightening feeling doesn’t stays long.
Deep Clean & Blemish Control Face Wash (RM20.90 / 100ml)
Even at my age I’m still having breakout once in a while especially two weeks before menstrual cycle. Whenever I have a pimple or two popping out I’ll switch Deep Clean & Pore Refining Face Wash to this Deep Clean & Blemish Control Face Wash. It is an anti-acne face wash which contain Wild Pansy Extracts which is said to help with moisturizing the skin. Salicylic Acid helps in gentle exfoliation so skin is more clearer and free from acne. I notice that if I continue using this for a few days in a row, breakouts on my face tone down bit by bit and I have acne-free skin in no time. This cleanser is not as drying as Deep Clean & Pore Refining. It’s quite similar to Hydra & Whitening.

I am a cleanser lover 🙂 Too bad I am on a cleanser ban now though these are really affordable and sounds so wonderful from your review! I use very little of my Dermalogica one and still have Estee Lauder and Hada Labo moisturizing one unopened. I have learnt my beauty tip to not splurge on cleanser because these drug store babies work equally well too 🙂
Actually yes. Doesn’t need to splurge on cleanser. Like you, I find drugstores one work just as good as counter brands. But once in a while I’ll splurge to pamper myself hehe.
Tempting indeed!
Will seriously need some form of oil control again after my delivery as previously, I encountered dry skin during preggie (and now), and after my bb’s full moon, the break-outs slowly but surely crept back!
Shd get one or two of these as stand-by for Feb / March 2014 🙂
When you are pregnant your hormone changes as well :). Just get one will do because one will last you very very long dear.
I am using the deep clean & oil-control variant now.
It certainly foams well and a pea-size is enough 🙂
What I don’t like is the cap gets all messy (could be my bad!) when I put it facing down (the cap down) and the gel gets all around the cap and leaves a sticky, goey, geli-fying residue on the cap.
Again, it could be me… Or maybe I should keep it facing up instead 😛
Nope. It’s not just you. All three of my tube are all the same. I’ve used up two and I’m left with the whitening now. Keeping the tube facing up is able to solve the problem 😉
Hi, i want your suggestion cause your post quite interesting. I have acne on my skin , it pops out one by one. But at the same time i want my skin look fair and radiant. Which cleanser i have to buy ? And i dont want my face dry out..
Hi Puteri, tricky as none of the cleanser is the exact of what you want. The closest is Hydra & Whitening. And none of these cleansers dry your skin out.
