I’m pretty excited about this one. The month of April would be busy and exciting for Estée Lauder Malaysia as there will be three new makeup and skin care product launches altogether. Initially I thought of telling you about everything in one post but you know me, my review is super duper long. Considering the fact that I have a total of 10 photos per product, I can already foresee the length this review is going to be. I wouldn’t want you to fell asleep so I figure I could tell you about the NEW Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick first.

Introducing Estée Lauder’s new and latest lipstick collection – Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick, the ultimate object of desire. What’s so great about this? Well besides illuminate and sculpt, Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick also hydrate and style the lips. I bet you heard a lot about lipstick hydrating the lips but failed. I can tell you now…not this one. Nope.

Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick comes in 16 flattering shades of color. Rather than the conventional slanted and pointy lipstick bullet that you can see from it’s sister range – Pure Color Envy, Pure Color Envy Shine comes in a more flatter top. It is designed this way to give the lips a more sculpted pout, adds dimension for a fuller lips and the ability to distribute the lips with even and luminous color effortlessly. I found out that this new lipstick range is Asia exclusive. In fact all the lip-sculpting statement shades were exclusively developed to complement the natural beauty of Asian women. Don’t we all feel more special now eh? 😀

All the 16 shades selection is a curated collection of charming and feminine shades with names inspired by the multi-faceted personality of a woman. Even the shade range is developed specifically Asian women’s skin tone. All together there is four-shade range to choose from and each range consists of four shades.

• Nudes to Browns – Nude Angel, Innocent, Fairest, Baby Cashmere
• Pinks to Berries – Graceful, Pretty Perfect, Charmed, Blossom Bright
• Corals to Reds – Delicate, Surreal Sun, Boudoir Baby, Heavenly
• Mauves to Plums – Mischievous Rose, Pure Demure, Pink Dragon, Wild Lace

I had a hard time choosing one shade because I kinda like it all after glancing through all the shade selection color. If I were to choose just one shade, I would go for a shade that I can wear anytime, any day on any occasion. And I finally settle with Charmed from Pinks to Berries shade. I have no idea why it looked so pink here eventhough I set my camera to “Natural” instead of “Enhanced”. In real it looked more brown but since this is one of the shade from Pinks to Berries range, I’m not a bit surprised that my camera is able to picked up the color that my eye couldn’t haha!

Let me just tell you the color payoff is very good! In fact I have better luck with Estée Lauder lipstick all these while. Most new lipstick will have a hard time swatching. This is not exceptional either. So I thought I should show you how one swipe looks like comparing to three swipes.

The one swipe below is the very first swipe from the new lipstick bullet. So it appears sheerer. But when I swatched it three times, the color just pops out. It’s gorgeous, just as I expected.

Here’s how Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick #210 CHARMED looked like on my lips. I like that the shade bears a hint of pink in the berry/brown shade. So the color payoff is vibrant with a pop of bright tone instead of dull brown tone. It is so easy to carry this shade off with almost anything.

On application, the lipstick itself is not those soft and buttery type. In fact it’s quite dense and slightly rough. I can feel some sort of pigment bits that I initially thought is the shimmer bits. But then I don’t see any shimmer bits on my lips. I find the application to be a breeze. Just one swipe and I’m done. The lipstick no doubt is high shine and glides on smoothly. I personally prefer to enhance the color and longevity by layering another swipe. It also contain Multi-Faceted Color Pigments that create shape, definition and volume.

You know how much I love my Burberry lipstick magnetic casing right? Well, good news for me because this Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick comes in a slim-line packaging that has a magnetic closure as well! * throws confetti* The casing is inspired by modern architecture. It is sleek with elegant silhouette that bears a powerful look but it still maintain the femininity. The casing color combination reflect Estée Lauder’s signature navy and gold, while having golden plaques at each end of the case and golden tones within the interior. All that convey the modern glamour and style of the brand.

Longevity test

When I first used the lipstick I was amazed with how long and well it lasted on me. I left my house in the morning and usually by noon my lipstick will be all dry and blotchy with flakes of dry skin sitting on top of my lips. Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick on the other hand doesn’t give me all that problem. It didn’t even budge a bit. It stays on like a glue despite lunch. There wasn’t even a slight bit of dryness. This is already a plus point for me. The reason behind the amazing feature is it’s unique modern formula that envelops lips in immediate and long-lasting moisture. It is infused with the new and exclusive Time Release Encapsulated Moisture Complex with micronized Hyaluronic Spheres that help boost the lips’ ability to attract, capture and seal-in continuous hydration. As a result, lips feel softer, smoother, more supple and stay continuously moisturized throughout the day. I can stand behind the claim and tell you it really does what it was designed to and what it was claimed.

One day unintentionally I had this free coffee from Isetan KLCC. I was a bit reluctant to sip from the top as I didn’t want to ruin my lipstick but I thought it is a good opportunity to test out the lipstick. So I finished the whole cup after several hours (the coffee was burning hot), went home and my lipstick is still looking good. Despite leaving lots of lipstick marks on the top cap, my lips still feel moisturized and the color is still intact, with slight fading on the bottom lips. Usually with other lipstick my lips would be dry with dry flakes all over the lips. I’m amazed!

On every other day the lipstick stays on from morning till the end of the day. I kid you not. It fares well on me. I reached more to this Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick especially on event day as I know one application in the morning would last me rain or shine till the end. However not all good thing comes without any flaw. The only downside for me on this Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick is that the lipstick gets onto my teeth all the time. I never have this problem before so it’s quite frustrating for me as it’s a risk for me to talk to other people without knowing if the lipstick is stuck onto my teeth or not. I will need to remind myself not to apply too deep into the inner lips 😀

Estée Lauder users will definitely be wondering if this new Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick carries the signature lipstick scent from other lipstick range. I know the scent bugs a lot of people. I’m glad to report there’s no scent at all 🙂 . Like I said in the title, it is a well-improvised lipstick in so many ways.
