Did you know that Tony Moly has been in Malaysia for the past 4 years? Frequent shopper of Sg. Wang Plaza would probably know because the previous distributor company had an outlet there but being someone who doesn’t step a foot into Sg. Wang Plaza, I have no idea at all. All these while I’ve been stalking Tony Moly products through other online reseller but never once have I order anything as I wasn’t sure if it’s authentic or imitation products.
Yesterday, Indispensable Beauty Sdn Bhd who is one of Tony Moly Malaysia’s franchisee held a grand opening of their first flagship store strategically located at Pavilion KL. If you’ve been walking around Pavilion for the past two weeks or so, you would have notice the store at 5th floor.
I don’t normally squeeze to the front for ribbon cutting photo op but I think you might be curious as to who own Tony Moly distributorship in Malaysia and the owner of Tony Moly Pavilion as I would too! So here you go. I got to know about Tony Moly from a friend of mine who is the co-owner of Indispensable Beauty Sdn Bhd (Tony Moly Pavilion KL), also who is an ex-client during my tenure with Motor Trader. He happens to be the distributor of PME power bank which I found out by accident after I posted up the review. What a small world eh? We lost contact for a few years before this and this friend contacted me with regards to the review I posted on PME lol. Thank God I didn’t say anything bad about the product 😛
Before I start with the tour around Tony Moly Pavilion store, I have to warn you first hand that this will be a picture heavy update. So please make yourself a cup of coffee or tea and get comfortable. I’m sorry if this is crashing your laptop or making your loading slow but it’s obligatory to show you what Tony Moly has to offer. I’m also going to be very bias with this as it’s own by my friend LOL! I’m just kidding. I will still be honest as to what I think about the overall Tony Moly in terms of product varieties and prices etc. You know me. I always have something to say 😛
The standalone store is located at a strategic location on the 5th floor. Passerby that are going up and down the escalator from The Loaf would not missed the bright store. If you’re still lost, okay, it’s above Etude House. If you don’t know where’s Etude House, you have to ask the information counter lol. The store is quite spacious and huge. I like that all the product island is facing on the same direction to avoid browsing confusion. Such arrangement will also ensure that you don’t miss anything while casually strolling around. Can you imagine walking in to a store for the first time and you got panic because you didn’t know where to start with everything scattering every direction? Or maybe I have OCD issue. I like things to be arranged in the same direction 😀 . What I don’t like is the slightly raised floor. I was wearing heels yesterday and each time I’m close to the edge, I have to be vary on my steps and making sure I don’t reverse walk when I was photographing. Just be cautious on going up and down the store ya.
Brows & Liners
Brow fanatic would be glad to know that there is brow mascara available and the shades are quite dark, suitable for darker hair girls. Not a surprise because Korean love to tint their brow hair. There are also brow pencil and brow powder. The price for this I would say is quite reasonable.
This is an array of eyeliners. I didn’t pay much attention to eyeliner this time as I usually would prefer liquid eyeliner pen and what I saw first hand was something in a pot. Perhaps I’ll explore more on these when I go back to the store. It was extremely crowded inside the store during the opening so I didn’t swatch anything.
For a gel eyeliner, Tony Moly’s is cheap! Only at RM39.90 a pot. Not too far away from drugstore Maybelline. Something that you girls can explore 😀 . I need to pick one up as I have a few eyeliner brush but without the gel eyeliner haha.
Powders
Ahhh my favourite makeup of all (beside eyebrow pencil) is setting powder. Be it loose powder, transparent powder, compact powder. I just love to buy and buy powder to set liquid foundation. The price for this category on the other hand is not as cheap as I thought it would be. I’ve never tried it before so I can’t comment much but usually Korean makeup is top notch so I’m not worried.
BUT, the one thing I was so excited about is the Cats Wink Clear Pact. Can you see how adorable it is? So cute! Although I’m not a cat person but I’m a sucker for cute packaging. This one certainly had my eyes on. Price wise is not as expensive as the above lol. Phew. Good news for me then. I need to go back to the store and figure out what it is. A translucent compact powder perhaps?
Lipstick
The lipstick variation is not that much and not that complicated. What’s available is what you see from the photo above. The price on the other hand is quite affordable. If I’m not mistaken it’s cheaper than buying Etude House?
Foundation, Concealer & Blusher
One thing I didn’t expect is the lack of face base products. I would expect more variety from a Korean brand especially the foundation and blusher. There are pretty affordable blusher i.e. RM29.90 with a simple clear packaging BUT in a huge pan. I was expecting more cuter blusher like the cat-like compact above but I only spot one with cute puff and one baked blusher. Anyhow it’s totally understandable as I was told the original numbers of SKU is very huge and some products are not sellable at standalone store but more sellable in supermarket shelf.
The concealer on the other hand is pretty straight forward. There’s four types to choose from. The most expensive one is on the far left, bearing the price tag of RM61.90 as it’s a dual ended concealer. One end is liquid concealer with doe-foot applicator while another end is a stick concealer. The pot version would be good as eye base before applying eyeshadow 😀
Eye Makeup, Lashes & More Eyeliners!
I could have missed the mascara as I couldn’t find it anywhere lol. Anyway the single eyeshadow is dirt cheap! Ranging from Matte, Shimmer and Glitter. You can also get the empty casing and build your own compact. Again, the casing is priced reasonably.
At this section, I also find more liquid eyeliners but this time it’s in pen form. If you see from the photo above, there’s really a lot of liquid eyeliners.
Tony Moly also brought in a small selection of fake eyelashes and glue. I get why it is just a small collection as fake eyelashes is still not huge here. I find it quite ironic because Caucasian with long, thick and full eyelashes would prefer to put on fake eyelashes but we Asian with short, straight and lesser eyelashes would prefer to use mascara instead 😀 . Sometimes when I’m watching Youtube tutorial video and the Youtuber’s eyelashes after mascara is absolutely AMAZING but yet she still put on fake eyelashes and that really makes me wonder.
Lip Gloss, Tint & More Cuteness
Now now now. We’ve come to the most cutest section at Tony Moly store. I lost count on the number of times I kept going back 😀 . These Petite Bunny Gloss Bar is so cute and cheap too. It’s actually similar to chubby stick. I wanted to pick up one to try but it was so crowded and I’ve picked up several NYX Butter Gloss at Sephora prior before this. Furthermore I want to go back home and Google for swatches before deciding on which shade to pick #googleaddict. I can say this again and again, there is a 30% storewide discount so this Petite Bunny Gloss Bar would cost only RM20.95. Steal!
If you’ve seen my Instagram update yesterday on the Delight Magic Lip Tint, I’m going to repeat what I said on my Instagram here. For the past few months. I’ve seen Instashop seller selling / collecting pre-order for this like hot cake for RM25 excluding shipping. You’d be shock too if you’ve seen how much she sold. I screenshot the page and Whatsapp to my friend before this telling him to stock up on these. One thing about buying from Instashop or from pre-order is that you will have no idea where the origin of the stock is from and if it’s authentic. The good news is Tony Moly sell this too and at a much cheaper price than Instashop. It’s only at RM19.90, you get to purchase on the spot and bring it home rather than waiting for weeks for the pre-order to arrive. AND you know you are buying only authentic product when you buy direct from the source. I love it when physical store is selling cheaper than online haha 🙂
Told ya this section is the cutest because the cuteness doesn’t just end at the Petite Bunny Gloss Bar. I had my eyes on these two here. On the left is essence balm and on the right is a lip scrub! Honestly I really do feel like hauling these back just for the packaging solely. Okay, I’m going back today!
Here comes the lip gloss. A really cute Fruit Princess Gloss 🙂 . There’s also lip balm in the shape of blueberry and peach, which I’ve forgotten to take photo of. Sorry!
Skin Care, Hair Care, Men Care & Sun Care
I didn’t take much photo on the skin care as it’s REALLY a lot. The above is just half of what they have *faint* but understandable as Korean are very much into skin care. Here’s the current obsession in the skin care world – snail!
I stared at these for a while trying to figure out why is there eyeshadow in this section and it turns out to be hair color tint aka hair chalk if I’m not mistaken.
BB Creams
Men skin care line
A whole lots of hair care and hair styling products. All at the same section. You need to explore more yourself 😀
I also spot a small selection of beauty tools and accessories. There’s also brush cleanser available (the pink bottle on bottom right). It’s good to know more and more brand is selling brush cleanser these days. I was in the hunt for dual ended brow brush but to no avail. Was hoping I could find it at Tony Moly. They only have the single end brow brush.
Other Cuteness Available
I’ve no idea what to name this wall of cutie. Thus the name other cuteness available 😀
This is Panda Hand Cream. Super cute!
To be frank, I only remember Tony Moly by their infamous egg pack. This is one of it that I remember. How cute is this? It comes in a mini egg carton.
More egg-ness.
I could never get what Aloe Vera Gel is for. Probably a staple for dry skin? Anyway if you’re a fan, there’s a promotion happening for such a big tub!
People say “an apple a day, keeps the doctor away”.
Nail Polish Heaven
This is my first time seeing such a nail polish rack. It makes choosing for the right nail polish color easier too.
Now that I’m done with the tour, here’s what I think about Tony Moly.
It’s indeed a delight to have Tony Moly officially here in Malaysia rather than having to source online. All these while the brand existed but not many people know about it due to lack of advertising and promotion. In short, there’s no hype. No hype = no one will know. Pavilion is the best location to kick start the brand into Malaysia market. It will also expose the brand to tourists as well. I like that the store is bright, spacious and the island arrangement is in order. I just don’t like the slightly raised floor. I think I’ve mentioned about this several times before but it’s a requirement from the mall so it doesn’t seems like there’s a choice isn’t it? Anyway, put that aside and let’s move to the product varieties. The makeup product SKU is okay but for beauty enthusiast like myself, I find that it could be better. I want more! 😀 But then, it’s not bad now. It’s good enough for normal consumer. Price wise, I find it to be at a balance. Some things I find could be cheaper but some things I thought is expensive but turns out to be quite cheap. So yes, it’s a balance. I no longer step into other similar store like The Face Shop or Skin Food as I find them to be too mainstream these days so a breath of fresh air i.e. Tony Moly is definitely good for the Korean brand market.
If you ask me should you pay a visit to Tony Moly at Pavilion, I say why not? You have to do it asap today as well because they are having a grand opening 30% storewide discount. That makes everything wayyyyy cheaper 🙂
Tony Moly Pavilion by Indispensable Beauty Sdn Bhd flagship store is located at 5th Floor of Pavilion KL. They will be opening another three more stores in the coming few months. Do keep an eye on the update at their official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/tonymolypavilion

Thanks for the lovely virtual tour Fiona! Looks like we will be pampered and spoiled big time before Christmas! I like their cute packaging and array of products. Imagine how it will be like in Korea! Have fun and enjoy your haul.
I’m glad you like it babe. Hope they will run more promotion for Christmas as I didn’t get to go back today 🙁 . I woke up with sore body and painful arms. Been shopping around with a handheld tote bag. My camera adds the weight in and it makes the pain worse. I do hope to see another storewide discount happening.
Those are so cute^^ I like the Petite Bunny Gloss Bar very much :D. The price is alright for me. I think Etude House is more expensive.
Some are really cute like the Cats Wink compact, the egg pore thingy, lip gloss and the Petite Bunny Gloss Bar of course. Yes I believe Etude House is more expensive too. Remember the Etoinette Heart Blusher I bought? That’s retailing for RM159.90! Honestly I won’t spend that amount for a blush that is not luxury counter brand. RM49.90 sounds more like it lol
I got to know Tony Moly had an outlet in Sg Wang about a couple of years ago, and that was because I was desperate to get the JYJ GWPs lol! (JYJ was their brand ambassadors then, now it’s Suju-M) XD
I quite like the lip scrub, it’s very gentle and doesn’t feel oily or sticky or greasy. Same with the face scrub, not a fan of coffee but it’s definitely nice to wake up and use it in the shower in the morning, haha. (Plus it tastes sweet XD) Want to go down and check it out since there’s 30% off but it’s too far and i’m lazy 😛
Lol. I’m so bad with K-pop stars. No idea who is who 😛
I wanted to buy the lip scrub for it’s packaging but once I opened and see the inside, it’s sooo little. Most of the “lip” casing is just a casing. I didn’t calculate the after discount price in my head so I didn’t buy. This morning when I read back what I wrote yesterday, I wanted to get it. Had to cancel plan as I’m in too much pain to drive to Pavilion again. If I went this morning, it would be my 3rd day in a row in Pavilion fuhhh!
Hello dear. Take care ya. Lol though if body ache was contributed by shopping, it’s ok as you can marvel in your hauls. Jokes aside, rest your body and arms and legs ok to get ready for more year end deals!
Haha I’m good to go now LOL. Need more moos 😀
Where can I get the tony moly product? I mean near by in kl?
Pavilion is in KL. It’s not near you in KL?
