Just a few weeks ago, I have reimplemented a few SK-II product into my skin care routine. This time round I feel the difference on my skin compared to previous. Maybe my skin is getting old or maybe my skin is now used to SK-II that it starts to absorb everything I put on top. With those two reasons, imagine how excited I was to find out that SK-II will be launching Auractivator CC Cream.

CC Cream, or better known as Complete Correction Cream enables a holistic brightening on the skin with its three-fold action:

1) by providing immediate radiance on the skin surface
2) penetrate into the inner layers of the skin to reduce melanin that causes dark spots
3) to protect the skin from any possible future damage with its UV protection

This dainty little tube is from a new innovation that came from a recent breakthrough discovery, the GenOptics inspired by the science of skin and light. Naturally, the skin grows darker and darker as we age. The darker it gets, the harder it is for the skin’s natural radiance to emerge from the skin within.

What caught me at first was the tube. Yes, it’s nothing special, it looks like every other product available in the market but still, for a CC Cream, it’s one darn quality packaging that was conveniently made. The first pump was tough. I thought I had a faulty unit. I have to keep pressing on the pump for so long, praying I don’t get a faulty unit because I was that excited to smear it all over my face lol.

This is how much product for a pump. It’s enough for the whole face but I usually go for two pumps because I needed more coverage. It has the look and consistency of a light foundation. It has a perfumey scent to it, which is not very strong but the scent is there. Your nose will detect the scent. The good news is, it will goes away but not immediately.

While many people are into BB Cream, I’m into CC Cream. I find that BB Cream are too oily for me and it makes my skin even oilier by mid day but CC Cream however is more matte on me and the coverage is usually better than BB Cream. Most of the CC Cream I’ve tried doesn’t contain as high SPF as this SK-II. In fact SK-II Auractivator CC Cream contains the highest UV protection in the market with it’s SPF50+ PA++++. This product however only comes in one universal shade only. It does goes on the skin fair and adjusted itself with the skin’s natural skin tone color within minutes. By then you will notice a no makeup makeup finishing.

This is the Before and After applying a thin layer of the product, taken after the color adjusted itself with my skin tone. Even after so, it still gives my skin the brightening it needed. That is because the Auractivator CC Cream contain 40% of whitening ingredients from SK-II’s best-selling Cellumination Aura Essence that helps to boosts skin’s inner luminosity. Notice how brighter my under eye look even with a thin layer on it?

I visited the SK-II #ChangeDestiny Light Museum that was built right in the middle of the Concourse floor of Suria KLCC last weekend. This excited curious cat just had to try the CC Cream first hand before the media launch event. The BA used small stroke + dabbing application method bit by bit on the face and the whole face took 20 minutes to complete. Although I think the method will definitely not work on me because I’m always on the rush but after looking at the result, I was blown away. The finishing is so much better and matte than applying as normal. At the event, the BA didn’t set or finish it off with any powder at all. I walk around the mall for half a day, went home only to find my skin to be absolutely flawless, natural and best of all…oil-free.

I couldn’t replicate the application process at home so I thought I’d show you what I’ve came up with. I prepped my skin first hand with SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, which has been giving me noticeable result recently, dabbed on SK-II Facial Treatment Essence-Eye, which is my current favourite eye cream at the moment and used a tiny bit of SK-II Stempower as a base. I skipped sunblock because I didn’t need any thanks to the SPF50+ PA++++ that is already in the CC Cream. And of course I always finish my base makeup off with a dust of powder. Usually I use a buffing brush to really buff the powder into the skin. This time I just use a fluffy brush and dust lightly. I skipped heavy eye makeup look because SK-II Auractivator CC Cream focuses on bringing out the skin’s aura from within so I apply some blush to give color to my face and a balm lipstick 😉
