In my mind I already had a plan to review the NEW L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist together with Pivoine Sublime Skin Tone Perfecting Cream SPF 20 (CC Cream) and photos were already taken a month ago but when I look back at my photos, I had to kick myself for forgetting to take a photo of both products together. So that explains why I will only talk about Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist alone today without the CC Cream. But fret not, the review for CC Cream will follow next 😉
Now let’s turn our attention back to one of my current craze at the moment – face mist. I am so into face mist now. The L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist landed on my desk at the right time.
You might think all face mist are more or less the same. Well, true to an extend but I always believe each face mist are different or unique in their own way. Pivoine Sublime is one of the many range under L’Occitane. Not all of the range under the brand has a face mist. The Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist happened to be a new extension under the range. This face mist is a multi-purpose beauty mist that refreshes, beautify, tone, hydrates, helps to refine skin texture and fixes make-up at any time of the day. Sounds like a all-in-one wonder face mist, eh?
The make of this product is really interesting. L’Occitane extract its perfecting essence during the blooming of the peony from France’s Drôme region. The extract is said to act at skin cells’ heart to lastingly help correct complexion and texture irregularities.
Now that we know how or what this Perfecting Mist is all about, let’s talk about the bottle. It came in a rather sturdy semi-clear bottle with good quality pump top. I appreciate clear bottle very much as I can see how much product left. It helps when the bottle is in dark pink. My favourite colour 😉 . The pump on the other hand made a slight squishy sound whenever I’m using it but, the nozzle works like a charm, as smooth as a butter with no leaking on the sides.
I hate huge water mist particles from face mist (I’m looking at you Avéne) that make my face itchy when the water particles evaporates. This L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist particles are ultra-fine no matter how much I keep misting and misting. Some face mist tend to work from good to bad and I have no issue at all with this one here after a month of constant usage. The scent on the other hand is quite floraly but disappear as soon as you stop misting. So if you are scent-sensitive, this will not be an issue for you.
Here comes the high-tech mist photo capture!
I like to use this Perfecting Mist right before my makeup to keep my face hydrated under makeup. I don’t use it to set my makeup as I prefer other makeup setting spray for that purpose. My favourite would be using this several time throughout the day to refresh my face from the heat and to cool down. The scent also act as a calm remedy for me as I’m a hardcore floral scent girl inside out 😀 . When using it on top of makeup, I like to mist all over my face several time, literally soaking my face with the essence and let it air dry. It does not melt my makeup, which is a plus point. I would suggest to blot the face down if you have excess sebum prior before misting on top of makeup as this is not a product that will soak up sebum. I do that on my T-zone and it has been a great on me so far.
I have also heard feedback from other user saying that this product doesn’t do much for them. Everyone have different skin type and mine happened to be oily on the outside. With that, I find that this Perfecting Mist is already good enough for me although I can’t say on behalf of dry or very dry skin type. You need to have a proper hydrating skincare regimen even before applying makeup to keep the skin properly hydrated throughout the day. This Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist is only a pre / post makeup additional hydrating boost and mid-day fix on the go. It is not a moisturizer per se.

High tech mist photo hahaha ha 😀 :D. I love it when you do that! I tried it at the store the other day. The scent is quite strong when the mist hit the face and not anymore after that. I walked around after that. It’s okay on me.
LOL. I know you like it 😛 . I like the scent. I like anything that smells good and floraly. When you stop misting the scent is gone. It doesn’t lingers on the skin. Nice isn’t it?
