First of all, I am still in awe. I have heard and seen the raves on Dermablend cream concealer so much for the past 2 years that I could not believe the email I was reading last week on the launch of Dermablend™, which will happen 2 days later.

Dermablend™ is not ordinary makeup products. It is a professional corrective cosmetics that is able to provide flawless, full but natural-looking coverage to camouflage anything at all for the face and body. Be it blemishes, post-acne marks, tattoos, birth marks, scars, burns, vitiligo or hyperpigmentation. Dermablend is the answer.

At the media launch, I was fortunate to witness with my own eyes three popular products from the brand in action. The brand’s popular products are Cover Créme, Intense Camo Powder Foundation (new), Leg & Body Cover and Loose Setting Powder.

Dermablend™ Cover Créme (RM183)

The Cover Créme is a full coverage cream foundation, which I find quite solid and feels more like a concealer than a foundation. It is suitable to conceal moderate to major skin flaws such as post-operative concerns, scars, hyperpigmentations, vitiligo, birth marks, burn makes and bruise marks.

The formula is lightweight, which is true to its claim as I’ve been using this Cover Créme for the past few days to cover the dark circles on my under eyes and it contain high purity pigments for a full camouflage. It finishes off to a velvety, semi-matte finish and does not cake or crease. That, provided you left it set and then set it with Dermablend Loose Setting Powder.

Dermablend™ Loose Setting Powder (RM138)

I learnt from the camouflage clinic that it is important to set the liquid product with this Loose Setting Powder. Setting over any Dermablend foundation or concealer with this powder will lock in the makeup, enhances and reinforces wearability for up to 16 hours of consistent color wear that is smudge and transfer resistant.

This colourless powder ensure smudge and transfer resistance. It is great for all skin types and tones, delivers medium to high coverage and leaves skin looking healthy and flawless.

Dermablend™ Intense Powder Camo Foundation (RM165)

The Intense Powder Camo Foundation is perfect for those who like fast and simplicity in makeup. This powder foundation provides medium to full coverage and finishes to a smooth and natural finish.

The powder instantly remove shine and will reduces shines throughout the day, leaving the skin a plush, smooth and natural finish. The coverage is buildable from medium to full, and absolutely blendable. Works the same as Cover Créme in providing all day camouflage for redness, uneven skin tone, acne, birth mark or even freckles.

Dermablend™ Leg & Body Cover (RM150)

Now that we have something for the face, what about body? To camouflage skin flaws on the body area, Dermablend came out with a specific product for it. The Leg & Body Cover (can be used on the hand as well ok?) is a full coverage foundation specifically for the body.

It has an extreme opaque and complete coverage, an ideal product for tattoos, stretch marks, varicose, spider veins, scars, burn marks and even uneven skin tone. Its improved moisturising and lightweight formula comes with SPF15 as well. The product blends superbly easy and evenly. Same as the Cover Créme, it has to be left alone to set and set with Dermablend Loose Setting Powder. Once it is set, it gives a silky flawless coverage that lasts up to 16 hours.

Dermablend™ Australasia National Training Manager, Marilyn Wearne also present at the media launch to demonstrate how to use Dermablend products and the effectiveness of the products. Marilyn is a former makeup artist and she has over 40 years of experience in the beauty and cosmetic industries. She is the recipient of many prestigious awards from Australia’s largest cosmetic companies. Currently, Marilyn is actively conducting Camouflage Clinics in hospitals and trainings to occupational therapists on the advantages of Dermablend for burn victims and cancer sufferers by helping in building a new image and self-esteem enhancement.

Camouflage demonstrations was done on three skin flaws or concerns.

The first was on acne skin with redness on the skin. Sorry for the crappy photo with crappy lighting. But, you will still able to see the difference comparing the right side with foundation with the left bare skin.

The second demonstration was what blew my mind. We were told that the lady has birth marks on her face and she came out with flawless skin. We tried to identify whereabout is the birth marks but failed. Marilyn later removed a portion of her makeup and WOW. In actual, the birth mark was covering the whole of her left face.

Marilyn later on covered back the portion of the makeup that was removed earlier. Once again we were amazed.

The last demonstration was on body tattoos. Marily squeeze some Leg & Body Cover onto her palm and literally slapped it on the arm. Within seconds, the whole tattoo are covered!

She also demonstrate the removal of Dermablend products using a special remover on the left arm of the same talent. The removal are tough as Dermablend product are quite opaque and set completely. It takes quite an amount of remover and scrubbing in order to remove the product completely. That’s how intense Dermablend is!
