Hada Labo is a brand that are constantly coming out with new products using the latest innovation and technology. It’s pretty interesting if you’re a fan of the brand and that you are following closely with their latest news. The last new product release from Hada Labo was 2 months ago and it’s the 5-in-1 UV Perfect Gel. Still at the “gel” phase, Hada Labo unveiled their latest sunscreen innovation last month and it’s the 5-In-1 UV Gel SPF50+ PA++++ Sunscreen.
The Hada Labo 5-In-1 UV Gel Sunscreen was developed to not only protect the skin from UV rays, but also infused with nature’s goodness to make sure the skin feels comfortable underneath the product, smooth and soft. It is an all-in-one sunscreen product. What this means is, this product also contain skin care properties. Don’t be surprised if I tell you that this baby blue tube right here is also an Essence, Emulsion, Makeup Base and Face Primer. That was what I meant by all-in-one 😀 . I bet most of you would shout hallelujah at the top of your lungs as it saves so much time getting ready in the morning. As a sunscreen, this product are packed with SPF50+ PA++++. With all the “pluses” protection, rest assured that your skin will be properly protected from broad spectrum of UVA and UVB.
I’m sure you could already guessed that anything that Hada Labo came up surely will contain Hyaluronic Acid in its ingredient lists. This new sunscreen not only infused with one but THREE types of Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate the skin from deep within.
- Hyaluronic Acid: to lock in moisture.
- Super Hyaluronic Acid: to replenishes moisture.
- Nano Hyaluronic Acid: to infuse moisture.
The texture is quite watery, a little bit gel-ish and feels light on the skin. However, if you do not shake the tube prior, you will find that the content separate a bit. So shake the tube away! Understandably, this is a gel-type sunscreen so yes the texture does feels gel-ish. Once you spread the product away, it melts into the skin leaving no oily residue. I like it! I also notice that the skin are slightly plumped up due to the moisturizing properties.
As this product is also a makeup base aka face primer, I happily skipped my actual makeup primer just to try out how this product fares. Sadly, I don’t like it. My face was oh-so oily and my foundation floats and slipped. When I try to blot, I ended up with a huge puddle mess on my face. Not a great scene to look at if you’re next to me. The next day I tried again but this time I added my usual makeup primer on top. Same thing happened. My face turned all oily, actually it’s the oiliest I get over the past few months as my face wasn’t as oily as before and foundation breaks, then slipped. Usually this only happened when a product is too hydrating for my skin. It’s not necessary a bad thing. Those with dry or super dry skin would beg for this type of hydrating sunscreen! As for me, my skin just doesn’t like the 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid 🙁
Here are the ingredient list for those who are interested 😉
Overall, I still think this is a pretty decent sunscreen especially when it’s an all-in-one product which also acts as an Essence, Emulsion, Makeup Base and Face Primer. The only thing that doesn’t work for me is the claim on prolonging and enhances makeup. The product itself is pretty good, my stubborn face not 😛
