Water bottle. It is something we use everyday but rarely talk about. I mean, what is there to talk about right? Not anymore. What if I am telling you that there is a water bottle that is so interesting and may just sparkle a conversation between you and your friends?
Introducing aquabook, a reusable water bottle in DIN A5 format that combines comfort, design and sustainability.
aquabook came about when the brainchild behind this genius drinking bottle, Felix Durst and David Ziegler, two young entrepreneurs from Munich/Germany, have a strong vision. The idea they both had in mind is that aquabook has to be something stylish and easy to carry type of bottle. It has to be a must-have for everyone who wants to stay hydrated in a genius-like way. It is totally understandable as the conventional bottle is just too bulky to carry and so many of us prefer to just not bring any but would rather spend buying drinking water from the store. The design of aquabook is made in a reusable book-shaped water bottle that would fit perfectly into every laptop case or university backpack. As for the ladies, you can even fit this in your handbag, without taking too much space in the process 😀
The aquabook is a crowdfunding campaign which is funded through Kickstarter starting on the 12th of October and ends on the 11th November 2015.
The vision behind aquabook
The vision is based on one thing only and that is a serious problem – global consumption of disposable water bottles increases by an alarming 10% every year. Do not be surprised if I tell you that a survey conducted in the U.S. shows that 48% of bottled water is taken from municipal water sources aka tap water and sold it back to the consumers WHO HAS ACCESS to tap water at home at up to 3,000 times the cost of tap water. Sadly, this is a marketing strategies by the beverage companies that tricked consumers into purchasing bottled water by making them believe that bottled water is cleaner, healthier and taste better than tap water.
aquabook strives to educate as well as to encourage more and more people to be eco-friendly by introducing an unique reusable water bottle that is a book-shaped which suits perfectly to a busy and studious lifestyle. By using aquabook, you are also helping your body to stay hydrated on long working days or during endless hours in the library or even during normal outings such as shopping, attending events like I always do and so much more. To make it even more interesting and to motivate more and more people using aquabook, it comes in five different colors and its cap also in five different colors. Rest assured that more colors will be added into the collection soon.
Its sophisticated slim design enables the aquabook to easily fits in every purse, backpack and briefcase. What is even more cool is that aquabook can be labeled with a picture, name or an inspirational quote by using an advanced UV digital printing technology. This option makes the aquabook an ideal gift for your friends, or a good merchandise article for companies or clubs.
The aquabook is fully designed and made in Germany. It is produced out of TRITAN® (Eastman Chemicals), which is a synthetic that is BPS and BPA free and recyclable, in a polymer specialized manufacture. It is also temperature resistance, which also means that you are able to fill your aquabook with coffee and tea on the go and not just plain water alone. What about the weight? It’s light weight but shatterproof and very stable.
As for the cleaning, a special cleaning solution and the aquabrush (exclusively designed brush that reaches and cleans every corner) can be ordered additionally. Four aquabook cleaning tabs, which are 100% sustainable and biodegradable, come with every aquabook.
All aquabook will be shipped in a carbon-neutral dispatch. You will also get a sachet of tree seeds in every aquabook package as a compensation to the carbon offset in order to reduce the ecological footprint even more. This is a wonderful initiative by the aquabook team. Unique and yet relevant.

Hi Fiona! I am a fan of your blog. Out of topic but just to let you know that the Catrice Kaviar Gauche Edition is out now @ Guardian. I just grabbed my Blurring Powder Pearls @ RM23.90. Happy shopping!!! 😉
Hi Nyna! OMG. Thank you for the info. I have been going Guardian every 2 days since September as I was told by Catrice Malaysia that the Kaviar collection will available in September. In fact I just went a few days ago but none.
Do you like the Blurring Powder Pearls? The price seems good!
Hahaha…you are not alone! Ever since you gave the heads up at your blog & FB, I too have been going to the big Guardians every few days (Eg OU/Pyramid/Tropicana and etc) since late Sept and throughout October, and still nil until I lucked out @ Guardian KLCC just now. I have snapped the collection. I will email to you the picture shortly.
I have yet to try but will most definetly try out tomorrow!:-D
Email received. Thanks for that xoxo. 😀 finally someone thinks the same as me. I thought I’m the crazy one checking every other day 🙂
Couldn’t help but follow this thread! Am gonna start stalking my local Guardians!
Hehe so off topic 🙂 But feel free to stalk Guardian 😉
I. AM. TOTALLY. BLOWN.
Love the design, colours and size! And I was wondering about the current “A4 size bottles in the market” — how to clean… and tada! this aquabook comes with a brush and cleaning tabs! Brilliant!
But the price will definitely be….. hurmmm….
I think I will ask my friend in Germany to get me a couple of this if he happens to come to KL next year! 🙂
Right? Me too. I like the vision behind aquabook and the environmental message behind it. The shape of the bottle seems perfect for everyone.
The price is based on crowdfunding. If you click on the link you will know what I mean 🙂 . I can actually imagine your Chek Hup coffee in aquabook LOL 😀 😀
LOL!
No coffee in my bag!
I have had my fair share of spills in my bags, thank God, only plain water…
All my books banjir…. Huhuhuhu….
I hope the cover is sturdy, and needs a bit of Herculean strength to pry it open, to prevent spillage or leakage 😛
It would be sturdy otherwise no coffee or tea recommended 😉
How brilliant is this idea! I remember not long ago there is those shapeable plastic bottle to fit in smaller bags but it always leak! I saw a lot online seller start to sell inspired version. Can’t really bought that because you never know what plastic they use to do it.
The inspired version one always leak. Water bottles are not a joke. Have to becareful due to the material.
