The beauty trend now has been leaning more towards contouring, highlighting and then we have strobbing. We often see American brand coming out with numerous products just to cater to these genre of makeup application techniques. It is definitely rare to see Korean brand Etude House coming out with Play 101 Stick.

Play 101 Stick is a multi-function color stick for eyes, cheeks and lips that creates color impacts with smooth and sheer finish. No, you do not use one stick for all but there are different cream stick product for different purposes. It is pretty straight forward.

Play 101 Stick #Contour Duo (RM99)

This is the one on the far left on the photo below. As you can see, it is a dual-ended product with duo purpose. One end is the highlighter and the other end is the shading stick. It is a handy dandy product which anyone even a makeup noob will be able to use without much hassle. Use the highlighter shade on the nose bridge, T-Zone, cupid’s bow, brow bone and even the tip of the nose for a hint of brightness. The shading side on the other hand is to contour. Use along the hairline (my favorite trick), side of the nose, chin and even jawline for the 3D dimension effect.

Play 101 Stick Foundation (RM99)

Not only stick foundation are in and so much easy to use, many use darker shade stick foundation as cream contour. It comes in a twist up stick aka multi-auto. Absolutely a mess-free product to use. Usually stick foundation are creamier and easier to blend too. There are four shades to choose from – #01 Fair (cool tone base for clear skin), #02 Vanilla (cool tone base for bright skin), #03 Beige (warm tone base for soft skin), and #04 Sand (warm tone base for healthy skin).

The Multi-Color stick on the other hand is very interesting. There are six different shades for different purposes – #10 Highlighter, #11 Shading, #12 till #15 is for Blush / Lips. The shade intensity is amazing and pretty intense.

Take a closer look at the first photo and you will notice a small little angled brush. That is the Play 101 Stick Brush (RM78). It is a dense bristle brush used to blend out all the cream products. It’s dense bristles are able to smoothen product on uneven skin texture.

Personally, I am very much into the whole contouring and highlighting technique so imagine how happy I was to see these. My favourite would be the #Contour Duo, Multi-Color Stick in #10 Highlighter and #11 Shading 😀 . Another trick is to use a darker foundation stick for contouring. The Play 101 Stick Foundation in #04 Sand will be a good subtle shade to use for contouring 😉
