Signorina, my first ever fragrance from Salvatore Ferragamo remains as one of my favourite perfume and I have been using it sparingly fearing that I might ran out fast if I use it non-stop. Not because I cannot afford to buy myself another bottle but it was something else. It is extra special as my name was engraved at the back of the bottle. So it holds a sentimental value to my heart, being the first Salvatore Ferragamo I own.
I could not contain my excitement when Salvatore Ferragamo released another Signoria – the Signorina Misteriosa. Misteriosa came about as the celebration of a chic girl’s mysterious side. The keep the whole “mysterious” theme, the flacon of course is in all black shades, which addresses a statement of luxury and exclusivity at the same time. The legendary Vara Bow too reinterpreted in black, a 360-degree change from the first Signoria.
If you ask me to describe the scent, it is hard for me to tell you the exact but I can tell you this is a fruity floral scent. As you know I am not the biggest fan of fruity fragrance, however I am glad to report that the fruity base in Signorina Misteriosa is kind of kept at the minimum. It is fruity alright but not overpowering. Just nice.
The fragrance opens up to the scent of Wild Blackberry, hence the less fruity sweet scent in the concoction. The tangy blackberry irradiated by Neroli. These two mixed up to create a distinctive top scent.
The middle note are made of Orange Blossom, melt with a sensual scent of Tuberose. This, I like the most.
When the fragrance tones down to the base note, the scent opens up to Black Vanilla Mousse accord and Patchouli. The perfumers of Signorina Misteriosa said the base note has an irresistibly sweet scent but my nose failed to pick up the sweetness scent. Somehow to me I am still smelling the floral note from the middle note, which I do not mind. I loveeeee floral scent.
Besides the total black flacon dressing of the bottle, one difference between the Misteriosa with other Signorina is the base of the bottle. This time round, a pink gold plate with four little studs was added. This personal detail was added resembling one of Ferragamo leather bag. It raises the bottle up without the base really touching the surface.
Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa comes in Eau de Parfum only. EDP is supposed to be stronger in scent and last longer. Not for me though. The previous version of Signorina I own are much stronger in scent. At times it gave me slight headache if I be heavy handed. With Misteriosa, I have to be REALLY, REALLY heavy handed, bathing myself with it’s fine mist of mysterious scent. It was not as heavy as I expected it to be. I love the scent, love that it does not gave me any headache but I would also prefer the scent to last longer. Hence the “bathing myself” gesture at the beginning of the day.
It smells like…mysterious. Just as Ferragamo said it to be. I don’t smell delicious or sweet. On me it is more of a confident, mysterious, dark, mature scent. Ferragamo made the best fragrance.
