At the peak of Korean K-Beauty creeping in slowly into our local beauty community, I learnt that the new Lancôme Énergie De Vie range too draws inspiration from the Korean. The brand’s new skincare range focuses on hydration and anti-aging, perfect for me. Between hydration and anti-aging, you must be wondering which is the core? Well, that would be hydration. If you cannot tell already, Énergie De Vie shouts hydration from inside out.

Lancôme Énergie De Vie offers fresh-scented and light texture skincare, which very much suits our hotter weather. All together there are just five products in the range. Phew! It is a straight to the point, targeted product that suits all skin type and basically everyone!

The five products are The Foam Cleanser, The Smoothing & Plumping Pearly Lotion, The Dullness Relief & Energy Recharge Daily Lotion, The Smoothing & Glow Liquid Care, The Water-Infused Cream and The Overnight Recovery Sleeping Mask. The star product of the whole lot is none other than Énergie De Vie The Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care.

What caught my attention during the product presentation was that this little bottle of The Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care has the texture of a water but has the hydration power as a moisturizer. It is made from a combination of high concentration of hydrating agents, together with three antioxidant-rich and energising plant extracts such as French Melissa leaves, Goji Berries and Gentian. It is the first Liquid Care that combines skincare effects of a lotion, serum and cream all-in-one for someone who wants a smooth, hydrated, and luminous complexion. Have I caught your attention yet?

It comes with one heavy glass bottle. The green bottle represents the freshness that the product offers. Lancôme believes that the generation nowadays are under a lot of stress and that we are living an intense lifestyle, which contributed to skin fatigue, dullness, rough texture and dryness. Two pumps of the Liquid Care is all you need to instantly lift your mood and skin up for the fresh, hydrated and healthy state.

As my skin is currently undergoing the dehydrated state, I was pretty much VERY intrigued with Liquid Care. It is recommended to use one or two pumps each time according to your skin type and need but I went ahead with three pumps as two pumps is not quite enough. My skin is like a sponge that it soaks up all the liquid in no time. That is because one pump does not pumps out a lot of product. I prefer pump that works this way rather than a pump that pumps out one huge dollop.

It does have a refreshing scent to it. I am not sensitive to scent but to those who is, fret not. The scent does not lingers on long. It definitely smells refreshing and “green”.

The myth with skincare is that we need to “seal” all the serum into the skin with a bigger molecule product aka cream or moisturizer. It is also the one principal that I have been living with for so many years. With this Liquid Care, I do skip cream whenever I feel like it because Liquid Care absorbed into my skin faster than any other product I have used before that nothing was left on the skin surface. It also have the moisturizing power as a cream product so I know I can safely skip moisturizer or cream. But of course you can still seal everything in with a cream or moisturizer. I still do. It is only a certain day or two in a week that I chose not to 😀

I have been using Énergie De Vie The Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care for a good month now. I have to say I really do like this one. I did an ON and OFF trial with this Liquid Care to see if it really works in terms of providing the hydration to my skin. Yes it does. On days where I had this on, my skin is at its best state. Skin stays hydrated even under makeup and oil secretion was under control. On days where I decided to skip Liquid Care on purpose, my skin oils up like crazy as if they are on angry strike telling me to feed them with water. My favourite feature about Liquid Care besides the hydrating effect is definitely the water-like texture. My skin drink the products up in just a short few seconds. This is also the reason why I keep thinking two pumps is not enough 😀
