I first spotted the L’Oréal Lucent Magique Cushion Glow Blush at Guardian store almost three months ago, together with a few other L’Oréal new products. The idea of a cushion blush is really intriguing especially now that everything is ‘cushionized’ 😀 . Did I pick it up on the spot? Nope. The price of RM49.90 is the reason why. I have a whole box of new blushes at home and having to spend 50 bucks for a new blush is just not my priority at that time. I am glad I did not pick any up as L’Oréal gave me one at the L’Oréal Paris Makeup Designer new tagline and product launch.
Overall, L’Oréal Lucent Magique Cushion Glow Blush is available in three shades only – P3 Rose Affair (a light everyday pink), P2 Pink Fantasia (bright pink), and C1 Sunkissed Coral. I was given the shade P3 Rose Affair, which is just right down my alley when it comes to blush. Just like any other cushion product, Lucent Magique Cushion Glow Blush is packaged in a bulky cushion case similar to a BB Cushion. It has a plastic cover to prevent the cushion and product from drying, and an air puff.
The shade P3 Rose Affair looks like a coral shade looking at the cushion itself but in fact it is a straight up pink. The rubbery air puff is quite well made. It fits two of my fingers, exactly the way how I like to hold my puff.
Now, the product itself is quite watery. The puff does soak up quite a lot of product if you were to press it down on the cushion too hard. Go light handed. Just a light dab will do. You can always repeat when needed. Because the product is wet, somehow it lift up my powder and foundation as I dab it on my cheek. This happened to me several times. It could be because I dab on too much on my puff. I am not too sure.
I can understand why it is wetter than other normal cream blush or BB Cushion. The name of the blush is afterall “glow”. It is meant to give the cheek a dewy natural glow. The colour payoff I would say is light to medium, depending on the shade you are using. P3 Rose Affair is definitely the lightest shade of all three. The shade defines glow from within truly. It contain a signature Byron Liquid Light that brightens the complexion in just one tap. It’s soft-tone pigments infused in the watery cushion gives the skin a diffused effect.
If you are a clean freak and germaphobic like me, you will find the puff above disturbing lol. Gosh I cannot stand it. I feel like washing it all the time but I am also scared washing will ruin the puff. Let me get a few replacement puff first before trying to wash it 😛
I never knew I would like a wet blush at all but I did. This L’Oréal Lucent Magique Cushion Glow Blush saved so much of my time applying blush. You have no idea. It is so time saving and easy to use. Just dab dab dab from the apples of my cheek all the way up to my temple and I am done. So easy and fast. It does take me a few repeated application to get the colour I want on my cheek as P3 Rose Affair is a very light pink blush. It does not shows up very well so I find the need to build coverage.
