If you are a regular at Mid Valley Megamall you will notice one very interesting beauty store at LG Floor. I said interesting because Skinsoul is a beauty store and LG floor is mainly occupied by F&B and lifestyle stores. Brilliant as LG floor is also the most crowded floor of all. Most beauty enthusiasts already know and aware who Skinsoul are. Yes it is a beauty brand BUT I learnt that Skinsoul is actually different from most beauty brands. Skinsoul refer their cosmetic products as “aesthetic cosmetics” as it has the same fast and efficacy results as aesthetic treatments. I will get on to that more later 😉

Let’s not overwhelm you with complicated introduction of Skinsoul. We start from the basic. Let’s talk about one of their best-product – The Lover Lip Colour.

The Lover Lip Colour is a creamy, opaque, full-on lipstick. When I say full-on, I really do mean it. It knock my socks off my feet the first time I used it. Despite being a creamy lipstick, it does not “sweat” like other lipstick with this hot weather nor does it turn soft and soggy, even after I had it in the car boot under the hot sun for a full day! The lipstick bullet remains the same as it is even after a few days of using. Overall, The Lover comes in 15 shades to choose from. All 15 shades comes with cute name too 😀 . I chose Amused 06 as the shade just screams my name all over.

Even the packaging is different from other lipstick. Yes I am aware that it is just a black case which looks like nothing special. Mind you this lipstick is heavy on the hand and the semi-matte casing does not attract finger prints. You know how particular I am with the cleanliness of all my makeup product so I am happy with this casing. Lipstick to me is usually the last in my makeup routine. Normally I would need to wash my hands first before taking any lipstick as I do not like foundation residue on the lipstick casing #ocd but I notice that fingerprints do not stick onto Skinsoul The Lover Lip Colour casing. Interesting.

This lipstick looks like any other lipstick you can find here and there but I can tell you, it is different. First of all, The Lover Lip Colour contains NO PARABENS and 100% lead-free. These two points alone can already tell you that it is different. I was told that it contain two active ingredients such as Commiphora Mukul Resin Extract and Vitamin E that works to plump and smoothen the surface of the lips gradually over time with repeated application. That is one of the key feature of Skinsoul The Lover Lip Colour – aesthetic cosmetics benefits. As we all know, lipstick tend to darken our lips over time. So Skinsoul developed a handful of aesthetic cosmetics that will improved the skin rather than making it worse.

The lipstick itself is a creamy lipstick. However it does not goes on super glossy and sticky. It actually feels like nothing on my lips. The lightweight formula feels very comfortable on the lips. It does has a vanilla scent to it. Just a hint of it, and goes away after it is on the lips.

The colour payoff is AMAZING. It is the most opaque lipstick I have ever used. Opaque but not overly creamy and sticky, lightweight, with good hydration. This is one of the lipstick that does not dries out my already dry lips. The creaminess glides on and covers all the fine lines of my lips. The shade on the lips is close and true to what you see from the lipstick bullet itself. The shade Amused 06 is a wearable dark brick brown reddish shade that compliments any skin tone.

I had the lipstick on through meals, countless water sipping, coffee and blotting after meal with no major signs that the lipstick wears off. It even survived sushi and nasi lemak lol. I did not even need to reapply. The shade remains on my lips minus the creaminess from when I first applied it on. Surprisingly my lip stays moist and supple. With other lipstick I would already feel the dry skin forming on my lips. Not this one. Sometimes I forget that I had lipstick on. I thought I had lip balm on instead 😀

Removal on the other hand is fairly easy. You are always advisable to remove any kind of makeup including lipstick properly using a makeup remover. The rebellious me sometimes lazy to do so and I like to just wipe my lips with a piece of tissue paper. I thought it would have stained my lips already but it did not. The lipstick came off without any hard rubbing or scrubbing. Just a left to right swipe and it came off just like that.
