I was so lucky and blessed to be able to get the Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder for all 60 #IWillBeOkay Beauty Bag. But do you know what Happy Booster is, for what and how to use it? Also, are you aware that there are 2 types of Happy Booster?

The one I am going to talk to you today is the Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder in Translucent. This product is categorized under the ‘bronzer’ category in the official website although I was told that this Translucent pressed powder is an overall face powder. The other one which are more pink is the Glow & Mood Boosting Blush, the blusher version within the Happy Booster range. Hence the confusion for most people because they do not know what to do with it. I got curious so I whipped out my brand new unit and starts playing with it. I do not know why my friends hated this because I absolutely love it! Having said that, I get why this product is tricky especially for a makeup newbie. As I was told by a few friends, The Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder Translucent is too shimmery for the whole face, not illuminating as highlighter, not dark enough as bronzer, not pink enough as blush therefore they said they are not a fan of this pressed powder.

But first, let us admire the cutest pressed powder in life that you have ever seen. Physicians Formula said that all their Happy Booster are infused with Happy Boost Blend, and this blend feature Happy Skin and Euphoryl, which is a natural plant extracts used to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress. I don’t know if the Happy Boost Blend works or not because I am already happy looking at the love prints on the pan lol.

It comes in a bulky plastic packaging. It is bulky as there is a brush and mirror included in the bottom panel. I personally do not use the brush but it is handy if you plan to travel with it. The plastic packaging itself is not filmsy but the powder is. It is super soft and shatter easily so if you ever drop this powder even just a few inch, you will ended up with a shattered bits and pieces like mine. I took my spare one out for this post as the one I am using is better to be kept for own eyes lol! I read that it has a Violet scent to it but my nose detected zero scent.

How to use this Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder in Translucent.

(1) According to the website, this pressed powder can be used on its own or over makeup as finishing powder by swirling the brush on the entire powder, blending all shades together to even out skin tone and for a touch of glow. The small pink love on the side is for you to add a pop of color on the cheeks as a light blush. Now, while I find this instruction to be quite on point, however when I swirl my brush on the entire powder, my face look glowy pink. So when you swirl your brush all over the powder, try to avoid the pink love and only touch on the pink love when you are done with the face. The pink love adds a beautiful pink flush to the cheeks.

But then, I tried my own method and it works! Read on.

(2) I find that this pressed powder works so well for those who want a light contour and bronze skin. What I do is to take a semi-fluffy medium size brush and run the brush over the bottom half of the powder to grab the darkest shade. Then, swipe it on the cheek bones to create an illusion of a sculpted cheek. Bear in mind this gives a soft sculpt look so repeat the process several time to achieve your desired look. The powder do the job effortlessly. I do not even need to worry about a harsh line or going too heavy handed.

What I also like to do is to take the same darker powder from the pan and run it around my hair lines. Just like I would do with normal bronzing and contouring.

(3) After I am done with the face and sculpting, I take the same brush and dip it onto the pink love shade and start sweeping over my cheeks as blusher. From the pan the pink does not look pigmented but boy oh boy it gives my cheek the prettiest and most natural flush of color. Blush is the fastest to fade so I like to go slightly heavy hand on this.

(4) Lastly, I would take the brush and sweep across the lightest shade on the pan, which is on the top of the powder. It gives my upper cheek bone the perfect highlight, not the into-your-face kind of highlight but a touch of illuminating glow. It is absolutely beautiful when the highlight goes on as it complements the soft contour and blush I laid on earlier.

This is the finish look! It is what I have been doing lately as there was not much event to attend to a week before Chinese New Year. This is my current everyday natural makeup that I have been sporting for the past three weeks.
