Batiste Dry Shampoo #Blush: A quick and easy fix for greasy scalp

When everyone was buying and ordering Bioderma from oversea, I decided to sit around and wait for the brand to be brought in to Malaysia. I always believe somebody or some company would be following the hype. So when Batiste Dry Shampoo was a “hot” product, I did the same. I sit and wait. Guess what? A few months down the road and a company brought the brand in!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Blush
I’m so glad I waited because the cheapest I’ve seen from online store is around RM35 per can and I bought it straight from Aeon Big Alamanda Putrajaya for just RM24.90. Good things come to those who wait eh? There are a few supermarket that carry Batiste Dry Shampoo. You can get it from Village Grocer, Jaya Grocer, Presto Grocer (the few I know) and if all the location is out of your reach like my case, just go to Aeon Big. I went to a standalone Aeon Big but they don’t carry Batiste so I figure I might get it easier from an Aeon Big located in a mall. So I drove to Aeon Big Alamanda Putrajaya and found it.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub: It’s a facial scrub that look and feel like a facial scrub

A few weeks ago I walk into Watsons looking for the cheapest drugstore facial scrub and walk out of Guardian instead with the most expensive scrub available – St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I’ve ran out of counter brand facial scrub and I thought I would try something more affordable as recommended by all of you previously. My requirement for a facial scrub is simple. I prefer something with scrub beads in it and something that gives me the scrub-like feeling when using. Most of the scrub I see is either too watery or with no beads at all. I’m very traditional on this. A scrub need to look and feel like a scrub. St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub gives me just that.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub
What’s ironic was I used to hate St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I remember about 10 years ago I bought a tube of this scrub as it was ‘the’ scrub highly raved and recommended by everyone. I hated it so much because the scent is smelly and unbearable. Fast forward to a few years later, once again I heard my friends talking about this scrub being the best they’ve ever used. I cannot help but to wonder how can they tolerate with such a yucky smell on their face. When I saw this newly improved St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub, I have no choice but to flipped the cap open and took a sniff. Now I don’t do this normally but I had to smell it. And it smells so good!

ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame (Clear/Dark): Absolute must-have brow mascara to tame the unruly brow hair and to keep them in place all day long

I know I am slightly obsessed with anything to do with brow but I swear this ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame ‘came’ to me out of no where. The story is, I haven’t been browsing iHerb for a good few months so I thought of visiting the site to see what’s new. You know, window shopping for fun? But because I have been searching for ‘brow mascara’ through the internet and on iHerb before, this new product – ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame popped right at the recommended product section. I click on the link and the rest is history although the whole process took a few weeks because the product was out of stock. Initially I wanted to get the darkest shade of all (Clear/Deep) but the shade on the tube freaks me out so I decided on the second darkest of the lot, which is the one I’m reviewing today 😀 .

ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame
ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame comes in five shades namely Clear/Light, Clear/Ash, Clear/Medium, Clear/Dark and Clear/Deep. Each of these cost only USD$3 (RM9.81) which is absolutely a steal considering you get two different product with two different function. There is nothing to shout about on the packaging because ELF has always been keeping everything simple from as long as I know them. When it comes to ELF, I’m not bothered by it’s packaging as I am too a minimalist 😀 . Eventhough the packaging is kept simple, I like that I can find all the information that I need to know about the product from the outer box.

Lipidol Cleansing Body Oil: There but not quite there yet

Regulars of Guardian pharmacy would notice a strange looking rack near the check out counter with lots of pastel color bottles in a clear plastic wrapping and stuck on what seems to be a tray that was inspired from egg tray. That strange looking rack with funky bottles which I first reported on my Instagram is Lipidol, a brand new skincare oils by Union Swiss, who is the makers of Bio-Oil.

The whole of the brand only consists of six types of skincare oil and everything is retailing for RM24.90. What I have with me is not all six products but just the Cleansing Body Oil, something that I thought would easily hit all the right marks.

Lipidol Cleansing Body Oil
You know how I always talk about water and oil level balance in order to keep a healthy and well hydrated skin? Well, apparently the founders of Bio-Oil are on the same page with this when it comes to the overall skin of the body, not just the face but the whole body from head to toe. Beauty oil has always known to be a favourite among those who believe in its efficacy and that includes me. If you recall I do love to “oil myself up” before bed 😀 . Lipidol want to be the first company to come out with a full oil-based skin care products in order to help the skin to retain moisture thus creating a healthy skin. Remember well-moisturized skin = healthy skin = problem-free skin?

Oxy Anti-Bacterial Acne Patch: Just as good as it seems to be

If you remember, all these years we can only find Nexcare Acne Patch at the local drugstore until another brand, Miacare came out with acne patch for day and night end of last year. This year Oxy too came out with their own version of acne patch! Introducing Oxy Acti-Bacterial Acne Patch 🙂

Oxy Anti-Bacterial Acne Patch
This Oxy Anti-Bacterial Acne Patch came just in time as I’ve given my brother all the acne patches I have and I was left with none. My skin has been acting up lately probably due to hormonal changes and the hot weather. I was having a good skin for weeks until a week ago. Sigh. I do find acne patches to be extremely hassle-free to use and this new product from Oxy comes with anti-bacterial formula that is proven by the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, SGS to be effectively inhibit acne bacteria and for it’s strong ability to absorb secretion from the acne.

3 easy steps everyday makeup with Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream, 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream and Volume 1 Seconde Mascara Waterproof

Undeniably, the beauty industry in our country is blooming slowly but healthily over the past two years with the introduction of various international brands into our market. Everyone I cross path with on the street are majority with makeup on. However (I think I had a culture shock recently) I also learnt that not everyone will put on a proper makeup to work, as opposed to when we met, with proper dressing and makeup. I was in shock when I hear that. I felt like the person whispering “I don’t put makeup to work” is like a double agent. Are you the same too? Because if you are, good. I have the perfect 3 easy step everyday makeup for you that only require you to use three products, and that is Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream, 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream and Volume 1 Seconde Mascara Waterproof.

Bourjois 123 Perfect and Volume 1 Seconde Mascara Waterproof v1.1
Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream, 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream and Volume 1 Seconde Mascara Waterproof is also the product focus for the month of September whereas Bourjois had a limited time offer recently on all three products, which sadly ended on 24th September. I had the products just a few days ago and I just cannot simply post up a review without a proper test run. That explains why I couldn’t post the review up before the 24th September. But no worries, I’m sure Bourjois will come up with a different promotion after this so keep your eyes on their Facebook page ya 😀
