Gucci CHIME FOR CHANGE Campaign 2014: How it works and unboxing Gucci Première gift set

This is a continuation for Gucci’s CHIME FOR CHANGE Campaign 2014, which I blogged about middle of last month. If you’ve missed out that post, do click on the link to understand more about the meaningful campaign initiated by Gucci Parfums because I’m about to unbox one interesting CHIME FOR CHANGE gift set!

CHIME FOR CHANGE raises funds and awareness for girls’ and women’s rights globally. The campaign is co-founded by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, actor Salma Hayek Pinault and singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, aiming to unite the voices speaking out for girls and women around the world, promoting the key pillars of Education, Health and Justice. CHIME FOR CHANGE is powered by Catapult, the first crowd-funding site where people can make real change happen for girls and women. Catapult was selected as a strategic partner to ensure transparency, accountability and measurable impact, by allowing CHIME FOR CHANGE community to choose exactly where their donations go and to track the results of their contributions on http://www.chimeforchange.org/.

Aveda™ Charity Event

AVEDA Walk For Water 2014

AVEDA Walk For Water 2014
Remember last year I heavily promote AVEDA Walk For Water, a meaningful campaign to help raise awareness towards providing clean water to communities in need? And this annual fundraising activity dedicated to clean water-related causes is back!

Last year Aveda global network in more than 30 countries passionately pursued their goal of protecting and preserving clean water for everyone, everywhere by organizing thousands of events to raise a total of US$5.5 million for clean water. Not only that. Aveda also set a Guinness World Record for the Most Money Raised for Charity through Haircuts in a 24 Hour Period during the Global Cut-A-Thon. Meanwhile in Malaysia, we are having our second Walk for Water event in support of EcoKnight’s H2O Project (Help to Offer Safe Drinking Water to Mantanani) on the island of Mantanani (Sabah) where the funds raised will assist in delivering safe and clean drinking water to some 1,200 villagers on the island. You can read all about this meaningful cause at http://ecoknights.org.my/avedawalkforwater.html

Charity Clarins Event Sulwhasoo

Beauty For A Good Cause: Sulwhasoo “Hundred Charity Quilt Kit” and Clarins FEED 10 Purse

Yesterday morning I took the day off from the laptop and drove to Pavilion to meet up with Kamsiah for some beauty shopping trip. The main agenda is of course the Clarins Facebook Gathering. I’ve been to the very first Clarins gathering 2 years ago at The Gardens Mall and it was loads of fun as it’s my first and Clarins’ first time having such gathering too :D. Subsequently Clarins did held a few Facebook Fans Gathering but I didn’t go. I wasn’t even aware there’s a gathering this time round so I got to thank Kamsiah for letting me know :D. I missed quite a lot of things in Facebook lately as I was too busy to stalk beauty brands 🙁

So. I had the itch to shop but wouldn’t want to add stress to my already large beauty stash so I only have a mission – to only buy charity kits. Here’s what I came home with.

Charity L'Oréal

L’Oreal Professionnel Colour For Life 2013: Nationwide Fundraising Campaign For The Malaysian Aids Foundation (MAF)

color for life logo
Colour for Life, initiated by L’Oreal Professionnel in 2002 for The Malaysian Aids Foundation (MAF) is a nationwide fundraising campaign to give hope and help to children that are infected and affected by HIV. L’Oreal Professionnel cares about the well being of the society we live in, more than just the No, 1 professional salon brand that we know of. Arm with a true objective to ignite the hairdressing industry and providing salon partners the opportunity to be a part of a worthy cause, L’Oreal Professionnel once again takes the lead in championing this worthy and noble cause. This campaign also strives to create awareness and reinforce the idea that each of us, no matter which industry we are in, who we are, where we come from, can in way or another make a difference in the lives of these children. Prior to the success of the past campaign in year of 2002 and 2007, L’Oreal Professionnel had decided to stride and run the campaign again for 2013.

So what’s in for 2013 then? This year L’Oreal Professionnel partnered with their 5 L’Oreal Professionnel Artistic Ambassadors and 5 renowned designers, each a maestro in their own craft to colour the hair of the chosen personalities and to design a t-shirt each for the campaign.

According to Heng Thang Yih, General Manager, Professional Products Division, L’Oreal Malaysia “ It is so wonderful to work with people who are always willing to do their part for a worthy cause especially for the children. We are indeed honoured to have the opportunity to collaborate with Dato Paduka Jimmy Choo Yeang Keat (OBE), Royal Selangor, Tom Abang Saufi, Eric Choong & Winnie Sin. At the same time, we would also like to unite our salon partners and work together with them towards a charitable cause by providing an avenue for them to add colours and make a difference in the lives of the children.”
